Chapter 170 - Chapter 170: Rosewald

Akihiro Kanou's mental state was clearly excellent.

"That's good to hear. I won't take up any more of your time, Dr. Kanou."

With that, Uchiha Byakuya left on his own.

However, just as he was about to leave the TSC, Marude Itsuki suddenly approached him.

"Commissioner-General Uchiha, perfect timing that you're back."

Marude said.

"What's wrong? Is there something going on?"

Byakuya asked.

"Yes, you've heard of the Tsukiyama family, right? That famous Tsukiyama Group. Not long ago, they established a partnership with us. Not only did they invest heavily in Tokyo's reconstruction, but they've also been providing us with quite a bit of funding. Funny thing is, until recently, no one realized the Tsukiyama family were actually ghouls."

Marude explained.

At this point in the timeline, it was still too early. The Washuu Clan would have known the Tsukiyama family were ghouls, but ordinary CCG investigators probably had no idea.

Otherwise, the Tsukiyamas never would've been able to develop into the powerful business empire they were today.

"I know the Tsukiyama family. So they've publicly revealed their ghoul identity?"

Byakuya said.

He certainly remembered the Tsukiyamas, especially Tsukiyama Shuu and the family head, Tsukiyama Mirumo.

The latter was neither wholly good nor evil, but he was a great father. In the original story, after the "Dragon War," he donated all of the Tsukiyama Group's remaining assets to help rebuild Tokyo.

All in all, Byakuya had a relatively positive impression of the man.

"Yes, they've come clean to us. But just yesterday, Tsukiyama Group's president, Tsukiyama Mirumo, reached out to request our help."

Marude continued, "Apparently, the Tsukiyama family has a branch in Germany; the Rosewald family. They've been targeted by German ghoul investigators led by Washuu Matsuri. So Mirumo hopes we can intervene, at least to ensure some members of the Rosewald family survive."

"I see..."

Byakuya paused for a moment, deep in thought.

The Rosewald family, that name rang a bell. It was the family that "Karren", Tsukiyama Shuu's cross-dressing servant known as "Aya" in the original story, came from.

After the Rosewald were annihilated, Karren, then the only survivor was taken in by the main Tsukiyama family. Her real name was "Karren," and "Aya" was just a later alias.

"Alright. Send someone to handle the matter."

Byakuya wasn't particularly concerned.

Because even if he did absolutely nothing, the Rosewald family would still have Karren survive, according to the original plot.

"The thing is..."

Marude said with some difficulty, "Since this matter involves negotiating with Germany's ghoul investigation agency, the only ones suited to represent us, aside from yourself; are members of the Washuu family."

"Then send someone from the Washuu family."

Byakuya said calmly. "It just so happens that the one leading the assault on the Rosewald family is Washuu Matsuri, so sending Washuu members to deal with it makes the most sense."

Washuu Matsuri, the grandson of Washuu Tsuneyoshi and son of Washuu Yoshitoki.

Even though Washuu Matsuri was older than Furuta, in terms of family hierarchy, Furuta was technically his uncle.

So this was the perfect task to delegate to either Tsuneyoshi or Yoshitoki.

And if they wanted to be extra cautious, they could always have Furuta go with them.

However, Uchiha Byakuya simply couldn't be bothered to deal with the Rosewald family matter.

He would indeed have to promote peaceful coexistence between humans and ghouls on a global scale sooner or later.

Of course, that was a matter for later.

Just handling the Tokyo area was already so exhausting, let alone the entire world?

This kind of thing definitely couldn't be rushed.

Afterward, Byakuya went to the Washuu family.

Now under the leadership of the "King of the Washuu," Nimura, along with the assistance of Washuu Tsuneyoshi and Washuu Yoshitoki, the Washuu family was behaving quite obediently.

Byakuya went to find Washuu Tsuneyoshi first.

"If I remember correctly, your side seems to have fairly close ties with the ghoul investigator organization over in Germany, right? I'll be troubling you with this matter."

Byakuya said to Washuu Tsuneyoshi.

Judging by the fact that the CCG's experimental building belonged to the German ghoul research institute, the "GFG," the relationship between the Washuu family and Germany was clearly not simple.

Washuu Tsuneyoshi had already heard from Byakuya about the Tsukiyama family's request, and he nodded, saying, "Alright, I'll personally take Nimura over there."

For him, this kind of thing was very simple, so simple that it was practically like going on vacation. He'd just treat it as taking Nimura on a trip.

Naturally, Byakuya also spoke to Nimura about this matter.

After leaving the Washuu family, Byakuya headed over to Shoei Publishing.
