"It's fine, just clean up the scene."
Uchiha Byakuya said.
The investigators immediately began clearing the area, collecting the corpses of the ghouls as well as a few severely injured ones who were still alive.
This whole farce could be considered officially over.
Although quite a few people had been frightened, thankfully there were no casualties. Everyone quickly regained their calm and continued playing on the beach.
After all, there were several powerful figures present, including Chairman Uchiha himself, who could protect them.
They stayed at the seaside until nightfall before deciding to head back.
By the time they returned to Tokyo, it was already past 9 PM.
After a brief round of farewells, everyone went back to their respective homes to get ready for bed.
However, when Byakuya and Yoshimura Eto returned home, they still set aside a little time before sleeping to review.
They were confident they could pass the upcoming Campus Entrance Examination for Kamii University.
Kamii University's internal exam didn't only consist of a written test as it also included an interview.
To be precise, most universities in Japan actually operated this way, especially the more prestigious ones, which tended to place greater importance on the interview component.
First came the written test.
Byakuya, Eto, Uruka Minami, and Arima Kishou, their top choice was all the same: Kamii University. So naturally, they all took the exam together.
After cheering each other on, they entered the examination hall.
The written exam for Kamii University was clearly more difficult than the previous national standardized test, but it still wasn't enough to trouble them.
Byakuya and Eto had chosen the humanities track, while Arima and Minami had chosen the science track.
After all, Byakuya and Eto specialized in literary creation, making them more inclined toward the liberal arts.
Arima, on the other hand, had exceptional talent in the sciences. Subjects like mathematics were incredibly easy for him.
As for Minami, she had a fairly balanced academic background and scored highly in every subject. But because Arima chose science, she decided to follow suit and pick the science track as well.
Besides, she was genuinely interested in science too.
Before long, they all received the news that they had passed the written exam.
Then came the interview.
Today.
A certain Kamii University interviewer was feeling a great deal of pressure.
Because the next few interviewees she would be speaking to were all heavyweight figures.
From their personal information, it was clear that all four of them came from the "TSC"—namely, Byakuya, Eto, Arima Kishou, and Sanpo Rika.
These days, nearly everyone in Tokyo knew about the "TSC." Formerly the CCG, it had already been a well-known government institution, but the TSC had gone even further, making history by integrating both humans and ghouls in the workplace.
Moreover, the previous "Tokyo Defense Battle" had shocked all of Japan, and even the entire world. Now the "TSC" was practically a household name.
If that were all, it might have been manageable. But the four of them weren't just ordinary members of the TSC.
Especially the one named Byakuya, he was the Chairman of the TSC, holding a position in Tokyo nearly equal to that of a cabinet minister.
Next were Eto and Arima, both of whom held the highest rank among TSC's combat personnel: "Dragon General."
Among the four, the lowest-ranked was Minami, but even she held the title of "Quasi-Dragon General" in the TSC.
Don't be fooled by the fact that Minami was previously just an A-rated ghoul, she's now at least reached S-rate. That's because she's been training from time to time with Arima and also participating in the subjugation and consumption of Dragon Orphans.
These days, ghouls can gain benefits equivalent to cannibalism by eating Dragon Orphans, this is no longer a secret.
Through occasionally hunting and consuming Dragon Orphans, Minami has now reached the level of a half-kakuja. In fact, if we're talking purely about strength, giving her the title of "Dragon General" wouldn't even be an exaggeration.
But in the TSC, there are simply too many humans and ghouls with both strength and merit. Minami still needs time to accumulate experience before being reasonably promoted to the rank of Dragon General.
Of course, Minami herself doesn't actually care one bit whether she's a "Quasi-Dragon General" or a full "Dragon General."
What she's always longed for is a life like any other human being. The reason she joined the TSC in the first place was to protect that kind of precious and beautiful life.
At that moment, the interviewer took a deep breath and gulped down a large sip of water to calm her nerves, because next up was none other than Byakuya.
Byakuya's interview process was incredibly smooth—so smooth that he even began to suspect whether she was the interviewer or if he was.
Throughout the interview, the other party had been extremely cautious and reserved, as if she was just barely surviving the process. In the end, she simply passed him straight away.
If the interview procedure hadn't been a formal requirement, he wouldn't have been surprised if she had just passed him on the spot the moment he walked in.
But he could understand. After all, his identity was what it was.
Next up, the interviews for Eto, Arima, and Minami went just as smoothly.
"How did it go? You all passed without a hitch, right?"
Byakuya asked.
"Yeah, that interviewer looked so tense, it made me feel kind of awkward."
Minami commented a little awkwardly.
"Well, as long as we passed. That means we're officially classmates now."
Eto said with a smile.
Of course, it wasn't time for official enrollment yet it was just that their admissions letters from Kamii University were basically in hand.
Now that they'd successfully been admitted to Kamii University, there was no need to take the "campus entrance exams" for any other universities.
There was still some time left before the formal enrollment date.
