Keith caught Natasha just in the nick of time before she fell to the ground. He carried her in a princess carry and jumped from tree branch until he was on top of branch which was thick and long enough to accommodate two people. He laid her body on the surface of the branch.
Natasha was shivering from the cold so he took of his jacket and put it over her body, using it like a blanket. He decided to learn a new rune since his spiritual energy reserves had increased and applied it on the jacket. The rune was a rune that was supposed to make the jacket warmer. He then applied a few health runes on her body healing all of her wounds.
After he was done applying the runes, he sat down and replenished his spiritual energy reserves. After he was done absorbing enough spiritual energy, he started thinking to himself.
"Natasha is quick learner and also good at adapting to various situations. In the fight against the beast horde, she was able to increase her proficiency with the sword and had also found new ways to use her talent. Her sword technique still has room for improvement though and her defense is well… how do I put this. Her defense is good but she'll abandon it as long as she can land a hit on her enemy. She is willing to suffer a few wounds as longs as she wins."
"And there is one thing that I've learned is that she is a battle maniac. I wonder if she was always a battle maniac but judging by the way she acted before she fought against the beast horde, I guess she became a battle maniac after I told her to battle against the beast horde," he thought to himself.
"I guess its about time that I get my first disciple," Keith thought to himself. In his past life even though he had immense strength and knowledge, he never had any disciple of his own. He did have four students but those guys were more like his children instead of disciples. The reason why he was willing to teach to her and make her his disciple was because she had a lot potential and he didn't want to go to waste.
He looked at her sleeping figure and saw how peaceful her expression was, it reminded him of his little sister. He smiled in happiness before he looked at his katana.
His sword had a length of six feet. The blade's color had turned obsidian black that seemed to absorb all the light around it. The hilt was also a bit longer making it possible to be held with two hands but Keith preferred using one hand. The sword guard had a rectangular shape and also had an obsidian black color. His katana resembled an odachi instead of a katana.
Keith stood up and swung his blade a few times to get used to its new weight. "My first soul weapon in this life," he muttered to himself. Soul weapons are weapons or artifacts that a soul fighter either obtains from ancient ruins or creates by himself using a certain method. Most soul fighters imbue their soul essence inside a weapon until the weapons is bound to their soul.
Soul weapons are bound to their master's soul and will forever stay with their master till they perish. The strength of a soul weapon is determined by tiers just like martial arts techniques used by Spiritual Combatants but with a slight difference. Tier 1 being strongest whilst tier 10 being the weakest but for martial arts techniques used by spiritual combatants, tier 10 is strongest whilst tier 1 is the weakest.
Keith's soul weapon is a tier 10 weapon but like most soul weapons it will grow stronger with its user. Each soul weapon has special abilities which are accessed by the user through rigorous training and establishing a connection with the sword. These special abilities are called Soul weapon arts. When soul fighters learn soul weapon arts it shows their great resilience and determination to understand their soul weapon.
Keith spent the next few days training with his soul weapon and hunting down soul beasts whilst waiting for Natasha to wake up from her slumber. Killing all those soul beasts increased his battle experience and his ability to sense danger. His body was more attuned to the fighting style he created for himself in his old life.
His fighting style was combination of three fighting styles. The first one is called the void snake sword's style which was created to deal precise and lethal attacks perfect for ending battles quickly. The second fighting style is called the Balarian defense style which is mainly used for its great and impenetrable defense. Last but not least the slithery snake movement technique which is well known for its nimble and agile movements making it impossible for an enemy to land a hit on him.
The combination of these three-fighting allowed to deal lethal attacks whilst giving him great defense and allowed to have great mobility. This fighting was perfect for him. He also trained on how to incorporate his talents into his fighting style.
Keith sat down on the tree branch, heaving a deep sigh as he wiped the sweat of his forehead. "Status," he muttered and a transparent blue screen appeared right in front of him.
