Chapter 55: A New Type of Soul Master Healing Soul Masters
While the tiger head symbolized the Star Luo Empire and the swan represented the Heaven Dou Empire, the meaning behind the Blue Silver Grass in the middle was unclear. Out of curiosity, the young and bold Crown Prince Xue Ye asked, "Master Ye Wen, what is the significance of the Blue Silver Grass gate in the center?"
Ye Wen grinned, knowing he had set a perfect trap, waiting for someone like the naive Xue Ye to ask.
"This gate has special significance," Ye Wen replied. "Among my various studies on martial souls, I developed a new branch of soul master profession, known as Healing Soul Masters. During my travels to countless combat arenas, I witnessed soul masters who, despite being healed through restorative abilities, still suffered residual hidden injuries within their meridians. These latent injuries often go unnoticed, causing severe pain as one ages. In some cases, they even hinder one's talent, with some soul masters who had the potential to reach Soul King level falling short at Soul Elder due to accumulated injuries. Such tragedies shorten their careers and rob them of their full potential."
Hearing Ye Wen's lament, Crown Prince Xue Ye nodded sympathetically. Prince Dai Lie of Star Luo, who was familiar with such cases, sighed. "You're absolutely right, Master Ye Wen. Many of our soldiers end up with lifelong disabilities due to the lack of proper medical care. It's a pressing issue in Star Luo. Have you discovered a solution for this?"
As Dai Lie's gaze turned hopeful, Xue Ye also realized the impact a Healing Soul Master could have. However, being more cautious, he asked, "Master Ye Wen, can these Healing Soul Masters truly achieve such impressive results?"
Ye Wen gave a confident nod but refrained from outright affirming it. Instead, he invited them, "Seeing is believing, Your Highnesses. Let's head to the arena, where my students are currently treating injured soul masters."
Sensing the potential value of Healing Soul Masters, Qian Xunji and Bibi Dong, who had been observing quietly, also joined, intrigued by what could be a solution to the ever present challenge of healing injuries in this world.
In the absence of modern medical techniques, soul masters typically had to endure their injuries. If Ye Wen could indeed address this issue, his legacy would be immortalized. The group moved quickly to the Spirit Arena of Spirit City.
Upon arrival, they found a bustling crowd gathered around an open healing area outside the arena entrance.
"First Soul Skill: Soul Thread Stitching!"
Su Qiaoqiao, usually gentle and warm, had a serious look on her face as she summoned two yellow soul rings. With her Xiu Yun Needle martial soul in hand, she channeled soul power into creating a fine, shimmering thread.
"Self created Skill: Embroidery Hand," she announced, lifting an amputated arm and swiftly stitching it to the patient's shoulder with remarkable speed, her movements so rapid that her hands seemed to blur. Though her Xiu Yun Needle martial soul could technically be used in battle, Ye Wen had always trained her specifically as a healer, a path Su Qiaoqiao embraced.
The shimmering threads connected the injured man's severed arm seamlessly to his shoulder, with every muscle and nerve carefully stitched into place. Sweat beaded on her forehead, showing how taxing the self created skill was.
"Lan Lan!" Su Qiaoqiao called to her teammate.
"On it! Second Soul Skill: Growth. First Soul Skill: Blue Silver Healing!" Lan Lan responded. She summoned her Blue Silver Grass, which rapidly multiplied and wrapped around the stitched wound, radiating a gentle, life giving energy.
While the Blue Silver Grass promoted healing, Su Qiaoqiao moved on to other patients with less severe injuries, deftly stitching up lacerations. Any excess Blue Silver Grass was used as bandages for the newly healed patients, ensuring none went to waste.
"Keep the Blue Silver bandages on for at least a day," Su Qiaoqiao instructed the men she had just treated, her tone gentle. "Your wounds should heal almost completely by then, but rest for a week before any combat to prevent reopening the injuries."
The men, moved by her care, thanked her profusely. Taking advantage of a brief lull, Su Qiaoqiao rinsed her blood stained hands and looked up, catching sight of Ye Wen and the others. She bowed respectfully.
"Master," she greeted him.
Ye Wen smiled approvingly. "Excellent work. Your stitching is becoming more and more precise."
Su Qiaoqiao and Lan Lan had been treating soul masters at the arena entrance as a way of introducing the Healing Soul Master profession to the public. Doing so openly prevented any single faction from monopolizing the concept and ensured the Healing Soul Master's value was widely recognized.
Noticing Ye Wen and Qian Xunji, the crowd murmured excitedly and made way for them. Qian Xunji graciously acknowledged the crowd, then approached the soul master with the reattached arm.
"Young man, may I examine your wound?" Qian Xunji asked. The older man, though his face was weathered and scarred, deferentially lifted his arm.
As Qian Xunji channeled light soul power, the soul master felt relief spread through his limb. Qian Xunji observed that every nerve and muscle was perfectly reconnected. Protected by the life energy from the Blue Silver Grass, the arm was healing rapidly and would likely fully reattach by the next day, as Su Qiaoqiao had advised.
