"What?" Sylas yelled. "What is this? Brother already killed someone in our new house."
It was hard to tell if his body trembled because of fear or excitement.
"You are stupid," Seren said, shaking her head. "They are still alive. He probably beat them up for crossing him. That's my brother."
She sounded genuinely proud and excited, her hands lifted with happiness.
Noa laughed at their reactions.
Aeris did the same.
"Too bad both of you missed the mark. They are Noa's friends, and don't forget to act politely. We are hosts tonight and need to act like one," she said.
"But," Sylas tried to argue. "They look dead to me."
"They are asleep. I am trying to wake them. Can you two help me?" Noa corrected him and made a deal that both of them would be happy with.
No words were needed.
Seren and Sylas jumped with joy and followed Noa, striking Martha, Rika, and Ezra ruthlessly—their faces dancing with mischievous wonder.
