Hazel returned to Gryffindor house excited. She spotted Ron and Harry and froze when George caught her eye.
'Can we talk later?'
She wasn't surprised to hear his voice in her mind. She had asked permission long ago to start visiting him in his dreams and one of the first things she taught him was telepathy.
'Of course is something wrong,'
'No. I just haven't spoken to you in a while.' Hazel's eyes went wide and she blushed. Seeing this made George smile.
Hazel rushed to her brother and Ron. She sat down and smiled broadly. Then her smile dropped. "Did Hermione go back to her room? Maybe I should wait until we are all together before I talk about this."
"She is with the nurse."
Haze, frowned and looked to Harry for an explanation but Ron continued.
"Something happened with her Poly Juice Potion." Hazel began nodding in understanding almost immediately. Tan Dimension banned the use of poly juice because it was seen as volatile. One misstep in the crafting and you could turn into anything under the sun.
"She has the face of a cat right now." Hazel truly understood now.
"Was she half Millicent and half cat?"
Harry thought about it and he began nodding as did Ron after being shocked for a moment.
"Yes you could say that."
"Well I will go to the nurse and talk with Hermione. The Poly Juice Potion is not for animal transformations so she may have some issues. But I know of a neutralizing potion. I will talk to Hermione and the nurse later. What did you two find out?
Hazel listened thoughtfully. "So Tom Riddle's book may have come from the Malfoy home." She shook her head then looked to Ron. "You probably should keep an eye on Jinny."
Ron looked alarmed. "Why!?"
"I think she had contact with the book first. I am not sure how or why Harry got it but Jinny definitely had it first and we have no clue what Voldemort may have in mind for her."
Ron nodded. Hazel looked at Harry.
"I think I know where the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets is."
"You do?!"
She nodded. "It is in the second floor girl's restroom. I spoke to Myrtle and the last thing she saw was beady eyes while she was near the sinks. I examined the sinks and I can tell they are a part of a mechanism but I don't know how to open it."
She stood.. "I am going to go check on Hermione." Harry nodded while looking dazed. She smiled. "See you later Ronny."
Hazel gave the nurse a Tan stock potion called "Vicissim". The nurse was excited but said she wanted to test it first. Hazel gave her a second vial and told her how it was administered.
"I am sorry Hazel."
"No need to apologize. I understand if you don't want me to see you. I will go so you can get some rest."
"Oh. If I go to the dreamscape will I look like this?"
"No. Not even if you wanted to. My scape only allows the truth of your soul and the Poly Juice Potion is not that strong. From here all I can sense is you."
The nurse was nodding which reminded Hazel of something and she pulled a third bottle from a pocket.
"I just remembered that I used a strengthening incantation to that first the second is normal and I will strengthen this one so you have enough to check both types." The nurse watched her closely and made a mental note to speak to Professor McGonagall about Hazel going into medicine.
George was waiting for Hazel at the edge of the forest. She smiled at him when she saw him resting against a tree looking annoyed. She knew why he was annoyed.
'Hello. He is your twin and I don't mind him here.'
She felt the surprise in his mind but outwardly he did not showing it.
'Hey. I just wanted to talk you alone.'
She was confused. 'Talk to me like this and we are talking alone.'
'It's not the same'
"Hello George." He smiled at her and something inside of her seemed to melt.
"Hello."
"Hi Hazel! You don't mind if I am here do you?"
She smiled broadly. "hey Fred. No. I do not mind at all."
George rolled his eyes and they sat down and talked.
Hermione came and sat down next to Hazel and gave her a tight hug. Hazel had a fork full of shepherd's pie headed to her mouth but she still dropped ir and turned to hug her back.
"And what was that for?"
"If it weren't for your potion I think that I would still be in the hospital. And I need to warn you. The nurse is talking to your mother about you needing to be a doctor."
"Really?" Hazel frowned. Not because she did not think it was a good idea but because she had never even thought about it. Potions, nature charms and incantations, and human health did fascinate her but she thought about it as a profession for her. She shrugged.
"So today is your last day?"
"Did you and George ever get to talk?"
Hazel looked perplexed for a moment. "No and I do not get it. We can talk telepathically or on the dreamscape but that is not what he wants."
"I think Evervine is right. We need to find Fred a girlfriend."
Hazel chewed her food while in deep thought. She did not lie to herself. She understood that she liked George, maybe even more than she liked Michael. For the longest time she had felt like she was cheating on Michael, or, at the very least, betraying him.
"I don't know."
"It will be fine. I will look here and Evervine will look in Tan Dimension."
"Hazel I would like to speak to you tonight after dinner."
Hazel looked up and straightened her back when she heard Dumbledore speak to her. Her eyes darted to her mother and then quickly back to the headmaster of Hogwarts.
"Yes sir."
Everyone was suddenly quiet and even when Slytherin table wanted to joke Draco stopped them and looked to Hazel longingly. Both Harry and George frowned at this.
Dumbledore's offices were like a wonderland. There were things that she had only read about and things she had only heard rumors about just lying around as if they were ordinary trinkets.
Shyla sat on her shoulder looking at everything with attitude clear on her face.
"Why have you been so grumpy lately?"
"I don't know. I just am."
Hazel shook her head. Then a fire plumed and swirled to life. Sparks flying everywhere and Fawkes was on her perch.
"You think Dumbledore called us here but I believe it was this lovely being."
Shyla said nothing but flew to Fawkes' side. They quickly began communicating. Shyla's song sweet and melodious. Fawkes releasing shrill urgent calls.
"Do you understand what they are saying?" Hazel had felt Dumbledore enter the room so she was not startled.
"Yes. I understand Shyla better though. It is like they speak different dialects of the same language."
"That is exactly what it is. I have never been able to understand Fawkes but she can speak into my soul." Hazel nodded in understanding.
"I did call you here because Fawkes was upset with me for not allowing her to speak to your Star bird. But I also wanted to speak with you." Hazel turned and looked at him expectantly,
"You know of the prophecy dealing with Harry?" Hazel merely looked at him. She still wasn't convinced who the prophecy referred to.
"I want to tell you this but you must not tell Harry any of it."
Hazel looked at him for a long time.
"Why do you keep insisting that Harry needs to be kept in the dark?"
"Because if he knows he may do something and get hurt or he may be targeted."
Internally she conceded to this externally she just continued watching him.
"I already know Professor Trelawney is the seer who spoke the prophecy. I have known this for a while. I tried to see if I could understand or get more from her but seer is in her blood weakly. It is only because she inherited a seer's soul that she can she likes she does. I think it came strongly to her because her fate has always been entwined with the principles of the prophecy."
Dumbledore smiled. "You may be even greater than Cassandra."
Hazel bowed to such a compliment.
"Have you ever been to your Star bird's dimension?" Hazel just looked at him so he smiled. "You need to go one day."
In that moment she knew that he knew.
"When you spoke to her did you see anything?"
"Only somethings that verified what I already knew."
"Which is?"
"Uncle Sirius is innocent and some rat betrayed the Potters."
"A rat? Of course a traitor is a rat."
"No. This person is actually a rat. He can change into a rat." Hazel frowned. She knew that Dumbledore knew this person but she could not see how. She could see that her parents trusted him and her father, Sirius and some called Remus were all friends with him. It was time to go visit uncle Sirius. She had been practicing and she thought, with Shyla's help, she would be able to get passed Azkaban security.
