After their conversation, Sharlene didn't expect that man to be there. She just sighed.
She sat down and looked at her bracelet.
"You are indeed the child I spoke to back then." Martin approached her and even tugged at her bracelet.
She furrowed her brow. "Did I talk to you back then? Sorry if I haven't remembered that yet." Sharlene was apologizing to the person in front of her.
She couldn't understand why Justine was looking at her like that now.
Maybe she's asking for the divorce paper again; I haven't brought it yet. Sharlene just thought to herself.
"Are we not going home yet?" Vivianne asked her.
She noticed that her body was extremely tired today, probably because of the journey to see their past.
They just need to help each other.
"Sharlene, Justine just wants to talk to you." Lawrence called out to her.
"I'm leaving first." Martin said goodbye to her and immediately walked away.
"I'm just here." Vivianne said this simply as she sat down.
Lawrence just nodded.
"I'll just tell the old lady to prepare some food." He immediately left.
Lawrence even tapped Justine. That's why he approached her.
"What are we going to talk about?" Sharlene asked her companion.
Justine just sighed before speaking. "Don't you wonder where this DNA test came from?" He even showed her the brown envelope.
That was what Martin showed her, to let her know that she was indeed the missing child of the murdered couple. She suddenly forgot about it. However, her curiosity piqued once more. Sharlene simply glanced at her companion.
"Do you remember your dad back then? Your dad had a sibling who was older than you. He searched for you for a long time until he died. He still remembered you, and his child carried on that memory." He said that she looked at him.
Sharlene immediately understood what he was referring to. "D—Do I still have relatives in the Gonzalez family?" she asked him.
"Yes. Guess who that person is." He ended up saying it to the person in front of her, who was staring at her intently.
She only gasped. "Y—You?" She pointed at Justine.
"Yeah, that was me, Sharlene." He even sighed. "I am two years older than you. I know it's a bit awkward for us because this is the first time we've met and talked." He ended up saying.
"But I assure you that I will give you the treasures that Dad intended for you." Justine added it.
"I don't need anything right now; what I need is my child." Sharlene stared at the person she was talking to.
He nodded at her. "I will give you assistance if you'd like to." He also told her.
"And then, when you're ready to process your divorce papers, you can finally be free from that man." Justine even said to her.
"C—Can I decide on our divorce, Martin and I, after all of this?" That's all she said. "We will wait until our child is awake and safe. Ashley's ability to cope with her father's separation is uncertain." She could only say to Justine,.
"Will my child's well-being really be okay if you don't separate?" Justine asked that question.
"Ashley is really her child, isn't she?" Justine requests that she pose a question to Ashley.
"The child is truly his daughter." That was all she could say. "Ashley inherited his father's blood. He is the only man for me." She clenched her fist.
He just sighed. "I am aware that that individual is exceedingly fortunate to possess you; I will not allow him to continue causing you such pain." He even said that to her.
She didn't say anything more.
"There's something going on between you and Sheila, isn't there?" Vivianne asked the man in front of her.
She stared at Justine. "In between relationships?" Sharlene asked Justine.
She heard him laugh. "Carnal desire, so be it; that's all that exists between us. I don't know if this is how it is for me; I don't care about Sheila. I'm not concerned about Sheila. I'm doing that to see you, Ellena."
"Are you fooling Sheila?" she asked.
He sighed. "We were just fooling around in a relationship, Ellena. Do you know who she really is? I heard she used to be your best friend. Did you know that the Atienza family was also involved? Especially— with her sister Angely." Justine even told her that she was staring at her intently.
"Oh, by the way, Vivianne Rosario, did you really see with your own eyes who the people behind the missing Leah are?" Justine asked Vivianne.
"Yes, I can see it with my own eyes." Vivianne admitted.
"But how can we imprison the guilty?" Sharlene said. "Raymundo Santiago is old now; Grandma Felicia used to visit him all the time when Grandma was still strong. What are we going to do?" She asked her companion.
"Don't think too much about it; let me handle it, Ellena. Focus on your child, and I'll focus on the legal matters. When everything settles, I'll return you to your real mansion with your loved ones," Justine assured her.
"This is the least I can do for you." He added.
She didn't reply anymore.
"Maybe you should start a new life with the one you love." Justine even smiled at her.
Sharlene just frowned at what he was saying.
"You need to look back to see the happiness you're searching for; it's not too late to start." He even ruffled her hair.
This made Justine laugh. The housekeeper went to them, saying they needed to have dinner.
"Did you have a good conversation?" Lawrence asked them.
"Lawrence, thank you very much," she could only say then.
He smiled at her as if it were no problem. Lawrence just sighed.
"We need to leave early tomorrow." She reminded Vivianne.
"Justine, just go with it," Lawrence said, laughing.
"Yeah, I would love to, but I need to go see Sheila first." Justine only just sighed.
"Don't retaliate too much against Sheila; she doesn't know what's happening, or maybe she knows, but she might also be a victim." She emphasized this to the person standing in front of her.
Her companion just let out a sigh.
I would like to speak with Leah again. She was resolute in her decision.
Will I be able to face them, Grandma? She could only question herself internally.
You need to lower your pride, Sharlene; you're going to take the child. She could only say it in her mind.
She was just contemplating whether she could still forgive, as her heart was beginning to give in.
No, no. I need to not be consumed by anger; you need to know the other side of their story, not just focus on your perspective. Sharlene quietly reminded herself of this.
