Normal Life
---
In the 'Western Forest' of Magnolia, besides the river a very familiar Red haired young man sat on a large rock.
He was in the lotus position, meditating.
'I don't just have to sense my surroundings...I have to feel it...Feel the intent...Feel the presence.... Feel everything surrounding me.'
'That is the nature of...Observation.'
Shanks thought taking a deep breath. It has already been two months since he had returned from his one-year training with the Giants and though he had returned. He had not yet taken a meaningless break from his training.
It was a habit he had from his previous life. The relentless Grind to reach the top. To shoulder the burden of the most reliable so the people he cared about did not have to.
And if he took a meaningless rest his scar would ache. The scar was a reminder of his weakness as well.
Shanks continued his training.
The morning passed, and soon, Shanks made his way home.
'Seems like Cana's already left for the Guild,', he thought as he unlocked the door.
---
"You want to take a job again?" Cana asked her brother. A pout on her face.
"Aw Cana. Don't start crying. I will be back in like a day or two." Shanks said with a laugh. Macao and Wakaba who were also there snickered.
"Shut up." Cana blushed lightly punching Shanks.
"Ahahaha. You are such a baby. Cana." Shanks said taking a gulp of the beer from the mug.
"Oi! Shanks. Aren't you too young to be drinking?" One of the guildmate said. Shanks looked at the man. He was sitting at another table besides them.
"Shut up. Sharky! Aren't you too old to be losing to me in a fight?" Shanks clapped back which made the man throw the mug he was holding at Shanks.
Shanks grinned. Flaring his magic. The bottle disintegrated into nothingness before it could even reach halfway.
"Oi Sharky. You don't want to play this game." Shanks threatened the man, and he reluctantly nodded.
"Tch brat."
There was silence as all eyes was on Shanks and Sharky before-
Everybody burst out laughing except Sharky.
"Damn Sharky owned by a brat half your age?"
"Ghahahaahaha."
"Tch tch Sharky."
"Keep on lecturing kids, dumbass."
Of course, the comments irked the man as he screamed.
"You bastards want to have a fight!?"
"Of course not, we don't want to humiliate you."
One of the members near to Sharky said. Sharky punched the man -
Another fight erupted as in a second all the members became involved except Shanks who happily munched on a piece of meat.

Shanks Pov
"Big bro - Take me with you." I looked at Cana. She has been saying the same thing for about an hour now.
"How many times do I have to tell you. No." I refused her once again but this time I could see her expression, she looked really sad, and I could sense her feelings.
'She really wants to go.'
"Sigh. Alright." I said to Cana, and she jumped on me, hugging me.
"You are the best big brother ever." I looked at her.
'Her smile is precious.'
I patted Cana's head. "Alright. Alright."
We went over to the Guild Request Board. There was many different Quest pasted here.
'Monster subjugation.' Too dangerous.
'Escorting Mission.' It will take time.
'Finding herbs.' Meh
Hooh...And here I thought I would never find a perfect mission. I took the job it was easy although the reward was not much.
'Destroying some rocks blocking a road from a small village to Magnolia.'
The route mentioned is not used much so I can understand why they had to put on a Job Request. The route was only used by the villagers from what I knew.
The pay was only 15,000 Jewels which was understandable. Since any Mage who has Offensive Magic can easily complete this mission.
I picked out the Quest.
"Big bro. Let me see it."
She sure was excited. I gave the Quest to her.
I was pretty confident she would say something like lame or insist on taking a Monster Subjugation Quest, but it seems my sister is more mature than I thought.
"Wow. Let's go brother!"
She said with a very joyful tone. I chuckled and we went towards Clira and gave her the Request.
"Taking Cana on her first mission" Clira asked with a smile. She already knew the answer.
"Yeah. It's high time she learns about the Wizard Life." I said to her, and she merely nodded, checking the Job Register which held information regarding all Jobs.
I glanced at Cana, who was smiling ear to ear.
"It seems the Job Reward has already been sent so just complete it and collect the reward."
I nodded at Clira's word.
"Alright Cana Let's go." I waved at Clira "Alright Clira. We will be leaving."
"Sure. Stay safe."
I nodded and we left the Guild.

[Magic Card: Random Throwing]
I watched as Cana threw several cards at the fairly large boulders. The attack hit the boulders though it did not damage it much. It still left a dent.
I smiled.
"Let's not waste too much time now, Cana."
Cana nodded, understanding what I was getting at. She stepped aside, positioning herself behind me.
I raised my arms, and Destruction Magic flared to life - reddish-black energy coiling around my arms, concentrating in my palm.
With a breath, I extended my hands forward and unleashed it.
A ball of condensed power shot out.
BOOM
The blast struck the target with a violent explosion, sending dust and smoke into the air. The trees nearby shook from the impact, leaves fluttering down like green confetti.
I lowered my arms, exhaling slowly.
"Still a bit too much magic mixed in…" I muttered, frowning slightly.
From behind me, Cana let out a low whistle. "That thing's no joke… You sure you're not trying to wipe out the whole forest?"
I chuckled. "Not yet."
She walked up beside me, arms crossed, watching the smoke clear.
"You're getting stronger again," she said. "But... don't forget to rest too, idiot."
I smiled at that. "I won't. Just need to refine the control first."
We stood side by side, watching the fading embers of the blast.
There was nothing left of the boulders.
'My Magic has gotten stronger.' I thought 'Let's check my status.'
'Status'
