It took Taesoo about twenty minutes to wake up. Apollo had been carrying him on his back as they made their way to another bus stop.

"Urgh…" Taesoo groggily opened his eyes and held his head. Apollo deduced that the headache must've been brutal by now.

"How are you doing, buddy?" Apollo asked, his gaze fixed on Taesoo.

Jichang handed over a water bottle from the side. "That last attack really put you out of commission. Here… drink some."

Taesoo didn't say anything. He got off Apollo's back and took the water bottle, gulping down the liquid.

"So, I lost, huh?" he muttered, his voice a mix of resignation and frustration.

Jichang assured him, "Don't sweat it. That last move was insane." He paused, remembering the destructive force of it. Out of the corner of his eye, he glanced at Apollo, wondering if he'd copied the technique.

Apollo, noticing Jichang's gaze, just smirked.

Putting a hand on Taesoo's shoulder, Apollo spoke, "You were strong, buddy. Don't worry about it."

Taesoo shrugged off his friendly gesture. "Don't try to reassure me. I know I was weaker than him. I won't be next time."

Apollo nodded, silently accepting his spirit.

Beep.

All their heads snapped toward the sound. The bus had arrived just in time. Stepping inside, the air was thick with the smell of alcohol, and the space was cramped with strange people.

"Fuck you, Apollo," Taesoo muttered under his breath as he surveyed the state of the seats.

Jichang scrunched up his face in disgust. "Remind me to never let you book anything for us again."

Apollo silently agreed, his mind elsewhere. Gongseob's technique… It's like the king's ultimate techniques. Taesoo doesn't have one, and that's why he lost. He wondered if this defeat would push Taesoo's growth even further.

It was time for him to head to Seoul.

Later:

"You've grown stronger," Hansu muttered, eyeing Apollo as he returned.

Apollo had gone with some friends to Daegu, but Hansu hadn't known the full extent of what had happened there.

"Well, it's good to have you back," Hansu said, smiling as he patted Apollo's head.

"We can start training again. How about another hundred repetitions of the side kick?" Hansu suggested, already making his way toward the dojo.

But a voice stopped him mid-step. "I have something else in mind, Sensei."

Hansu turned back, seeing Apollo with that mischievous smirk—the one he wore when he had something exciting planned.

Taehun, who had been absentmindedly training, perked up, eager to see what was coming next.

Apollo walked toward Hansu. "I want to fight you, Sensei."

Hansu paused, but his shock quickly turned into a smile. Now that he's stronger, he thinks he can take me down, huh? He ruffled Apollo's head. "Sure, we can spar."

Apollo nodded. "Where should we do this? I doubt this place will hold up if I go all out."

Taehun ran up from his exercise, his curiosity piqued. "What do you mean by that, Apollo? Surely, you can't break concrete. We're not superheroes."

Knock.

At that moment, a knock sounded at the door. Hansu went to answer it, greeting whoever was outside.

"Hansu!" A booming voice called as two men barged through the door. The first man was a head taller than Hansu, with muscles bulging from his shirt.

Apollo fought to hold back a laugh as he read the words printed on the man's shirt: I love my cookie pookie daughter.

The other man was dressed simply in a corporate suit and white shirt, his glasses giving him an air of normalcy.

But Apollo recognized them immediately. The legendary trio who had broken through North Korea and captured their leader:

Jincheol Park, Manager Kim, and Hansu Seong.

All three of them turned their gaze on Apollo, their eyes widening in recognition.

"Hansu…" they said in unison, before turning their attention back to their friend. "I didn't know you were training someone."

Hansu smiled. "Yes, guys. This is my disciple, Apollo Rayden. Apollo, these are my friends."

Apollo greeted them, but before he could say more, he turned to Hansu. "I believe there should be an audience for our spar, Sensei. Let's bring them to watch."

Hansu paused for a moment before giving in, a smile forming. "Alright, guys, follow me." His gaze swept across the room, landing on Taehun. "Taehun, you too. It's time you see how strong people can be."

APOLLO POV:

Standing in front of a long tree, I forced back a smile that was threatening to form. Hansu stood in front of me, dressed in his iconic Taekwondo gi. His hands rested calmly on his belt as he stared me down.

Off to the side, the three men from the dojo were gathered. Jincheol had brought his food truck, calmly frying chicken, while Manager Kim sat back on the truck, sipping his lemonade. Taehun was the only one visibly excited, his feet tapping the ground as he eagerly awaited the fight.

"You sure you want to do this, Apollo?" Hansu asked.

I nodded. "Yeah."

Hansu took a step back, raising his hands. "Come at me."

I shifted into a taekwondo stance, and in the blink of an eye, I launched a straight kick aimed at his solar plexus.

He dodged by crouching low. Seizing the opportunity, I brought my foot down, aiming to crush him in his crouched position. But Hansu sprung up with the flexibility of a coiled spring, both of his legs crashing into my guard.

Iron Fortress.

I used the technique I'd seen Gongseob use, drawing from the self-belief and talent that I wasn't lacking.

Hansu raised an eyebrow as I tanked his kick.

The very next moment, my kick descended with the force of a truck. I twisted my leg at the perfect moment, using Jichang Kwak's style of attacking. My foot lashed out like a snake, delivering multiple kicks in quick succession.

My smile widened. This is so much fun.
