Chapter 40 - The End... Or Is It?

The moment Sunny's body hit the ground, the battlefield grew eerily silent. The wind stopped howling, the distant cries of war faded into nothingness. Time seemed to freeze around him. His blood pooled beneath him, staining the earth red, his once-strong body now motionless.

Lysander stood over him, his expression unreadable. His victory had come at a price—a price Sunny would never know. His eyes looked not at the boy he had just killed but at something beyond him, as if calculating the next steps in his grand plan.

But before anything else could happen, something strange stirred in the air. The ground trembled beneath Sunny's still body, and a faint glow began to emanate from within him.Sunny's chest rose slightly—barely noticeable—but it was enough to signal that something was happening. A soft, almost imperceptible light surrounded his form, and in the blink of an eye, the air around him grew colder. The dark sky above seemed to crack open, and a portal of light appeared, pulling him toward it.

In the moment between life and death, Sunny was no longer in control. He had no strength left to resist. His body, his soul, was pulled into the swirling vortex, leaving behind the battlefield, the chaos, and everything he had ever known.

As he passed through the portal, everything around him blurred and shifted. The ground he had once known—the pain, the struggle, the battles—faded, leaving nothing but the pull of the unknown.

Transition Scene:

A boy, young and disoriented, suddenly woke from a deep slumber. His eyes snapped open, heart racing as he tried to grasp his surroundings. The room he was in was unfamiliar, the air thick with the scent of nature. The walls were strange, made of wood and stone, but there was no time to process the details.

His chest heaved as if he had been running for miles, though he had no recollection of why or how. The boy sat up, blinking rapidly, his mind foggy. His surroundings seemed peaceful, almost too peaceful.

There was a soft breeze blowing in through the open window, rustling the curtains. But the boy's mind wasn't at ease. Something didn't feel right. He didn't know where he was, or why he was here. His body felt foreign to him, like it wasn't his own.

A strange sensation filled him, a feeling of being lost and yet… familiar. Like something important had been taken from him, and now he was adrift in an entirely new world.

"Where am I?" he muttered, staring at the ceiling, as if hoping for an answer to appear. A deep, unnerving silence filled the room, and the boy's eyes widened as a lingering feeling tugged at the back of his mind. Something was coming. Something… important.

And with that thought, he slowly stood up, his heart heavy with the sensation that this was just the beginning.
