Serena stared at the new person with a mixture of surprise and alarm. Who was he? What was he doing here? Where had he come from? Was he this guy's accomplice? Could he also turn into a big wolf like him? All these questions ran rampant in her head that she didn't know they were talking to her. So when a hand touched her, she flinched and almost jerked off the bed.
"Huh? Are you talking to me"
The new guy was as tall as the other one, but not as muscled and he didn't command her attention that much but he was good looking and also looked strong. He had short brown hair that fell around his ears, soft blue eyes that twinkled when he smiled and she also noticed that he had tattoos on his hand but only on one hand also having a drawing of wolf and moon and other symbols just like the other guy.
"Hi, I'm Gaius Zak. Nice to meet you"
He held out his hand to her, with a tentative move, she shook him back. He held her hand firm for a few seconds before letting her hand go in a flash then darting a look at the other guy.
"Such a strange name." She muttered, "Hi, I'm..Serena. Serena Black."
"I know, where I come from, our names are strange" Gaius looked at the other guy with a wry smile on his face, "I'm guessing he hasn't introduced himself to you?"
"No" she shook her head, "He only just mentioned that he was a werewolf or...shifter"
Gaius winced as he face palmed himself in exasperation.
"His name is Klaus Malik, my best friend and also your..."
"Shut up" Klaus suddenly growled, Serena flinched again but Gaius merely shrugged with a mischievous grin on his face.
"Another strange name..." She muttered with a chuckle that didn't hide her discomfort.
Gaius glared at him and Klaus sighed uncomfortably.
"I'm sorry. I'm Klaus Malik."
She nodded at him, she noticed, a bit disappointed that he didn't say pleased to meet her.
"I'm assuming this is yours, the lady at the post office almost didn't let me take it but when I explained that you had an accident while coming, she readily agreed. Of course I had to use my charming smile and personality which in hindsight is what what o should have done earlier, would have saved me the stress. Anyway, next time." Gaius rambled as he handed the bag to her, Serena tried to hold back the laughter bubbling in her throat by biting her lips but it came out at startling the two men as they watched her fold over in laughter, her one dimple made her look lovely in their eyes.
"I'm sorry, its just that you have a way of sounding so funny and serious at the same time" she wiped the tears of laughter from her eyes.
Gaius grinned at her in delight, his face said he was delighted that she had a sense of humor even with whatever she just experienced.
"Thank you and you have a lovely smile"
"Thank you" she sobered up quickly and glanced at Klaus who was staring at her without saying anything and she could not predict what he was thinking.
"So..." she cleared her throat. "...can you explain what this is about? Like what am I doing here? Can I go?"
Gaius gave Klaus a look that said this is your turn to answer.
"Do you know about shifters?"
"Well, I do understand from what you just said that you guys can change from animals to humans, after what I saw you do, I think I believe it"
He nodded, "You can't leave. From today, your home is with me, anywhere I go you come with me"
Her eyes widened in shock, she opened her mouth.
"What do you mean, you can't just expect me to follow you into nowhere and I just met you and who are you to demand that from me?"
"Klaus" Gaius called in a warning tone but he pretended not to hear him.
"Let me tell you what you are, Serena"
She shivered as her name rolled off his tongue, it sounded sensual and almost sexy.
"You are not an ordinary person, you are a sigil bearer. MY sigil bearer. And your job is to always be with me to get me access to a power that can only be possessed by rightful Alphas when they need to fight. Basically, a sigil bearer is an Alpha's power and must always be with him. So forget everything you have or everything you ever were because now..." he leveled her a gaze that made butterflies to flutter in her stomach, "...you are mine"
The room was quiet for a while as she processed what he just said, with a trembling of her lips, she asked.
"And what makes you sure I'm this...sigil bearer. I'm a normal, ordinary girl, I can't even fight to protect my life."
"Go into the bathroom and take off your shirt"
"Huh?" She squeaked
Gaius threw his hands in the air and rushed to clarify things.
"He means that you should go into the bathroom and check your lower back, you are wearing his shirt right now which is hiding what he wants you to see. I'm sure you wouldn't want to open your body here"
"Oh...um...okay" her voice held a tiny bit of disappointment. She headed to the bathroom silently while Gaius glared at Klaus again.
"What"
"Learn to think before you speak, you asshole"
Serena took off the huge shirt on her body and turned her back towards the huge mirror on the bathroom wall, she turned her head and immediately gasped when she saw a circle the size of a baseball below her back between her two dimples. In the circle was a drawing of a huge black wolf howling up at a shiny full moon. Tentatively, she touched the circle and shivered as static electricity shot through her hand and coursed down her body. This was the first time she was seeing something like this on her body, how did she not notice this. Then her eyes bullged as she remembered how her back had suddenly started itching when she was running from the wolf and it happened to be in that same area. Dazed and with lots of questions, she wore back the huge shirt, not forgetting to smell the shirt and take in the scent. When she came back out, the two men stared at her, she swallowed.
"So, I have many questions but I will agree to this one one condition"
Klaus stared straight at her.
"What is it?"
