Chapter 2 - Chapter Two: From Who Was, To Who Became

After the ball "Boo" was with Samy at the age of 75, it stayed with him for a year after Hassan's death. Samy, who had an older son, was now raising two sons: his younger son, Dorian, and his other son, Kaelen. Kaelen was in the army, living in the same city, "Haemor." Samy was taking care of an 11-year-old girl who helped him in his shop. She was an orphan, and there was no orphanage in the city of Haemor. Hassan had taken care of her when he turned 68, and the girl, named Orchid, was 4 years old at the time. She had worn dirty clothes, but Hassan washed and gave her new clothes and took care of her. She was with him at that moment.

As another year passed, Orchid wanted to help Samy. She started taking care of him and helping him, learning from him through experience. She was a support for him in the shop, a young girl helping an elderly man. Samy, who was very old, had Dorian, his younger son, delivering clothes by cart. Kaelen was far away, living in the city of "Gorfind." Meanwhile, there was a problem between the city of "Castel," where the necklace was kept. The necklace had a symbol belonging to them, and it was unique. This necklace belonged to Hassan's wife, who was its heir. She had passed away from cancer after giving birth to Bilor, their son. However, Hassan was from Haemor, a city that believed in preserving something related to a person, to be a guardian of it to stay with them forever.

As for Hassan's son, Bilor, he had died at the age of 4. Hassan had cared deeply for Bilor, but his grief over his wife's death led him to neglect Bilor. He had been busy sewing and caring for Bilor, but his grief often made him not check on Bilor. He had been a troublesome child. Hassan had made Bilor a ball when he was 38, and Bilor, at 4 years old, had played with it. When Hassan got upset, he put the ball on a high shelf and went to get clothes. But Bilor climbed the shelf and fell. The ball hit him, and he died at that moment.

Hassan, a simple man, carried a deep sorrow inside him, one he never shared. A skilled tailor, he found a certain peace in his work, but in reality, he used this work to escape past traumas and a reality he refused to face. As he grew older, he developed Alzheimer's, which caused him to get lost between the past and the present, until he could no longer tell the difference between truth and illusion. He sometimes believed he was still a young man in his thirties, when in reality, he was an old man in his late seventies. This confusion between his age mirrored an inner struggle between who he was and who he had become.

Chapter Two: Between Hope and Disappointment

It was a normal day. Samy sat, taking a break, while Orchid, the girl, sat quietly and looked around at the empty clothing shop. No customers had arrived. She spoke to herself, saying, "Hassan's situation is unfortunate, and it pains Samy. He knows his condition, but he would annoy me because he would ignore me as if he didn't see me." Then she looked at the ball, which was in the shop and not for sale. It was just there, but it started to speak. Samy walked in and said, "Come help me." Orchid replied, "Okay." "Maybe, Dad, we need to move on from the past a little, because it might hurt you and stop you from thinking about the present and the world." Samy looked at her and smiled, saying, "You're right. It's important for you to be here with me now." Orchid laughed.

In those days, the family thought things might get worse because wishes could come true in the wrong hands. There was a breakup and anger because the residents quickly found out. The city was in turmoil, and some suspected that Haemor might be planning to steal it as part of a scheme. A war almost broke out between "Castel" and "Haemor," but it would have benefited neither side. No one wanted the war. They were angry, but also afraid, because the necklace might be the cause. They didn't want the war as it might lead to greater problems. So, they didn't attack. The King of "Castel" asked the city across the river about the necklace. The people of Haemor searched for it but didn't find it. They said three soldiers had been executed because they didn't find the necklace. The people of Haemor had killed one of the men, and two of them had fled, leaving the third dead. They knew there were problems. The bodies were buried, and the search for the necklace continued but came up empty. Samy took the ball at that moment after the search. They asked Haemor's city: Did they kill and attack the man's house? They replied that they wanted the necklace, but Hassan refused to give it to them. The necklace belonged to the Queen of Castel's daughter, who had been married to Hassan. Hassan had taken the necklace and not returned it, and it was a rule that no one outside the city should possess it. Haemor was angry, but they didn't find the necklace. Hassan had been involved with Castel, but no major fight happened between them. The matter was forgotten, and the problem was solved without war.

Years passed, maybe more than 15 years. Samy was now 89 years old. Orchid was 26. She had grown, and now she was here. Orchid married a man named Kareem. They married, but she did not have children because of an illness, but Kareem didn't leave her and stayed by her side. When she was 40 years old, Kareem passed away, having been married to another woman. When Orchid found out, she cried, but she moved away from Haemor because she wanted to move and was a little afraid. Then, she sat on her bed, thinking, "Why is this happening to me?" She heard a whisper. She looked at the ball and it said, "Why are you crying? Isn't this what you wished for?" Orchid was shocked, feeling like she had gone mad. She threw the ball and began thinking, "Is it the ball's fault? Maybe it's just exhaustion."

She looked outside; the winds were strong, and it was raining. She closed the windows and slept. The next morning, she went out to find the ball, but it was gone. Orchid lived the rest of her life, and at the age of 130, she passed away.
