It was my first breakfast at the royal table.
I walked in, nerves crawling under my skin. Everyone was already seated — the former Alpha, former Luna, Xavier, Selene, Rowan, and Damien.
No one looked up. Damien passed me a small smile and I returned the gesture.
"Morning, Luna," Rowan said with an easy smile, pulling out the chair beside him.
I smiled back, grateful for at least one friendly face.
"Morning," I whispered and sat down.
The tension was thick, and I was hyperaware of it. I kept my head down, focusing on the empty plate in front of me.
Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Selene and Xavier. They were seated apart, stiff, silent — acting like they had nothing to do with each other.
If I hadn't seen it myself last night, I would have never believed anything had happened.
