Mere seconds passed, yet for him, you could call it minutes, hours. – His soul began to ring, naturally. But his ears could hear it, a soft ring, perhaps a calming song... It felt like something he missed for years, yet it also seemed like something he didn't need permanently. – There was no dependency. It just was.
He could feel the whole feather sitting in his hand. – No, not just it. He could feel thousands of feathers spread through every realm, each realm had at least one. – One ivory feather, unbroken over the years. Yet standing to be found, standing to be called.
The shadow looked around, confusion clear on its face. No longer that spooky, eh? – Soran looked horrified as he was slowly realising what was happening. – But it was too late to even stop. Even attacking the boy would simply not be worth it. He was not going to die for anyone. Selfishness.
The people looked up onto the rooftops, people all over the world wondering what this earthquake was. Visibly, it was shaking. But no building broke, nothing dared fall down onto the ground and harm a soul while this happened.
Now, the one stuck, thinking about what he should do, was Soran, simply staring at the boy. – Yet Tris was busy with something else. – The feather flew from his hands, falling on the ground in front of him... A white, flower-like bulb of energy forming around it, almost like something was being born, or perhaps... Reborn.
The bulb began blooming as suddenly. – Tris's current tail had a rune etched at its tip... 'Fuka'. – As it bloomed. It revealed a small fox within its centre, a rune on her tail! 'Amaka' The fox just stared up at Tris, through the hood, right into his eyes with a tilt of her head. – The shadow now being paralysed with fear.
The white fox wiggled its tail into the air, seemingly happy. – While he could no longer feel that one feather... He could feel every other one. – The fox stepped forward, its paw raised and tapping its foot!
"Hoooiiii! I am Amako! Keeper of Realms!"
The fox spoke out loudly, sounding quite happy. Tris smiled. He always loved hearing them speak out their titles, he took it as quite cute. – So he lowered his hand, patting the fox's head and then offering it.
"Hello, Amako... I am Tris. Will you be joining us today? I am very sure Fuka will love you."
He spoke, his voice gentle as he offered the fox his palm. It let out a cackle-like sound before its paw pressed into his palm. – She turned into threads of white energy as she melted into his palm. His body was growing slightly more morphed, as a second tail appeared. Flickering into the air.
The soft song he could hear was now something he could make out with ease... A song he could follow with a dance. – And then he just realised. That was what was missing from his style. The stance was not something physical. But a song. – In this case, the Soulsong was his stance. – Does this mean every tail after this one will give him another? Who knew...
Althea stood in front of the archway as the golden chain began rusting rapidly, breaking into pieces. With a metallic clank, it hit the ground and then disappeared completely. – The guards near her looked shocked. None expected this. Because none were told of what fight was happening.
The arch lit up, a small rift breaking in its middle, as she stepped forward, passing through unbothered. – Stepping on the soft clouds, she looked down. Standing above the battlefield. – Or better said, rooftops, hidden by the clouds.
The shadows began moving, Soran clenched his teeth. Today he wanted at least one corpse, and would it not be magnificent if he could take down the last danger to his Lord's dominion? – Each shadow behind him moved, starting to charge forward towards our little prince.
The mother watched from above, and her wings flicked lightly... Once, twice, Thrice... They were growing smaller. – Her feathers flying off and spreading themselves into the air of the battlefield, as they formed some kind of field. Though there was serious space in between them, covering the area.
Raising her sceptre as with a swift motion, she slammed it into the cloud. – And the area shook. As lightning shot out and hit the feathers. – Like a spider's web, it spread out, destroying every shadow within its grasp. Yet Soran was not hit, or well. Was not hit hard. A bolt hit him right in the chest, sending him to the ground. Clearly, she wanted to play with him a bit.
Tris's ears flickered as he stared at the reflecting lightning, seeing it shred the shadows to pieces, each core being destroyed with ease... He severely underestimated his mother. That was clear. Clear as day, which led to him finally noticing the masked queen in the sky.
Raising his palm lightly, he offered a wave... Not really knowing how to welcome such a person. He hasn't met her before in the end. – The only thing he knew was that Fen was probably more panicked than Soran in this situation. And he had no regret for causing him that panic.
Althea gave a chuckle as he eyes looked down at the waving child, a smile underneath her mask... He has grown so much since she knew him! Perhaps a bit skinny... But he could beat Fen for that later. Her child should have been treated with more care!
Stepping forward, she fell off the cloud. The feathers of her wings coming back to her swiftlie, wings formed as she swang them at the ground, creating a wave of wind and easing her fall. Landing a small distance away from Tris.
Some shadows survived the attack, slowly healing, Althea gave them a look. And then sighed. They wouldn't be stupid enough to keep fighting. – But she was wrong. Soran began fleeing, but the creature stood and were ready to keep fighting.
Yet they had no chance. From the sky fell more warriors, bearing similar armour, wings and masks to Nora. Who was currently being healed by one, from what Tris could see. – Althea walked step by step, approaching him. She stood tall, extremely tall, eight feet if not bigger. – Raising her hand, she patted his hood. Smiling.
Tris blinked, for a second his ears just flickered... He was not expecting this. – At this point, cops arrived at the scene... Completely baffled by what seemed like a movie scene! In the end, he really couldn't blame them. And my god, will this be a mess when it gets on the news... We hope it gets blamed on a movie happening?
He just gave a small sigh, looking up at his mother, breaking his neck... He was very bothered by her height. How was such a thing even possible? How was his mother that tall, and he was not! This should be complained about to the gods! – Wait, he is the last god, actual god, taking complaints... Welp! Nevermind
"How are you so god damn tall..."
Tris just spat out, he was done thinking too much and overthinking things. – Althea just laughed. She patted his head as she seemingly turned into some force of light for a few moments, before taking a... More human form, she was around Tris's height, exactly his height.
"A true form is what it's called... Fen has taught you nothing? That man better be ready to deal with me... Go home, I'll be there to visit later, hmm? Don't worry, Nora will be fine."
She spoke with a smile under her mask, patting his head once more as she turned, stepping away as she turned into light once more, her body growing back into her true form. – Tris gave a sigh as he turned, beginning to just walk away! And hopefully, before the news team arrived.
He took soft steps, walking slowly as he got used to his enhanced speed. Two tails were better than one, that's for sure... He was too shy to summon the feathers in the current moment. – So his speed would do... – What would the wings even do? He doesn't know how to even fly! He would fall down like a god damn stick in the air!
So he was not planning to try. His mother gave one look at him, then chuckled once more. She was going to have to teach this boy a lot. Or perhaps a lot was an understatement. – She didn't know herself, but she knew that Fen did not do a great job.
Tris moved across the rooftops, simply leaving the area... Cop cars seemed to attempt following him onto the ground, but they lost him relatively fast... Was he faster than a car? No, he just knew where to move so they couldn't follow. Smartness was his skill.
Falling down onto the ground, his body turned into sparkles, hiding his ears and tails, and claws! And his cloak dissipating into the air as he scurried away... It was going to be a very bad walk with his own thoughts towards the dorms...
