Chapter 41 - Hosting Guests — Heaven Dou and Star Luo

A few days later, the day of Dugu Bo's coronation finally arrived.

One luxurious convoy after another rolled into the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan.

Among them were members of the Heaven Dou and Star Luo royal families, weaker sects like the Elephant Armored Clan, and even the Platinum Bishop from Spirit Hall.

However, the highest cultivation among these visitors was only Soul Douluo. The sole exception was Chen Xin from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, a formidable Rank 96 Title Douluo.

Because Title Douluos were exceedingly rare on the surface of the Douluo Continent, the emergence of a new one within the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan had drawn the attention of the entire continent. Major powers scrambled to pay their respects.

Although Heaven Dou and Star Luo hadn't yet gone to war, they were clear rivals. Situated neutrally on the border, the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan held considerable value as a potential ally. As a result, the convoys from both nations were the grandest, bearing countless precious treasures.

This time, the Heaven Dou Empire sent Xue Qinghe, the disciple of Ning Fengzhi, while the Star Luo Empire dispatched its crown prince, Davis.

Davis, now fourteen, stood around 1.8 meters tall. With broad shoulders and a sturdy build, his handsome face radiated a trace of ruggedness.

Golden hair flowed freely down his back, reaching nearly to his waist, and his purple eyes shimmered with light. Despite his lazy expression, his smile still carried the pride of one born to rule.

Though the coronation ceremony had yet to begin, Davis, after courteously greeting the various sect leaders, sought out Yu Tianming.

Tianming was tall and striking, like a bright moon in the dark night—easy to spot in any crowd.

Seeing him, Davis approached with warmth and offered a friendly greeting: "I am Davis. I've long heard of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan's young master and his unmatched talent. Seeing you today, I must say the rumors are true—you are indeed a peerless figure."

Davis was not faking praise—it was sincere admiration.

Though Davis was Rank 29 and had the same height as Yu Tianming, who had already absorbed four spirit rings, Tianming's build was even more powerful. This made Davis silently wonder: Is innate full spirit power really that strong? How could he already be stronger than me at just ten years old?

As a prince of Star Luo, Davis was someone Yu Tianming naturally had to treat with respect. He replied politely, "Your Highness Davis, you're equally impressive. I, too, wished we could have met sooner."

Davis laughed and said, "I'm a few years older than you. If you don't mind, I'd like to call you 'Brother Tianming.'"

Just as the two were talking, Xue Qinghe hurried over.

Originally, he had been chatting with Ning Fengzhi while Sword Douluo and a few others played with Ning Rongrong.

But as the crown prince of Heaven Dou, Qian Renxue (in disguise) couldn't just stand by and watch Yu Tianming get too close to Star Luo's heir. To maintain her cover and defend the empire's interests, she excused herself from Sword Douluo and came over to speak with Yu Tianming.

Tianming was just about to respond to Davis when a gentle voice came from behind, "Tianming, my dear brother, why haven't you come to talk to me? Have you grown distant after just half a year?"

Tianming had already sensed it was Xue Qinghe. Turning, he said with a smile, "Brother Xue, don't take offense. You were talking with Sword Douluo—I didn't want to intrude."

Xue Qinghe approached, taking his hand sincerely. "If you came to see me, how could it be an intrusion? You are always welcome."

Given the rivalry between Heaven Dou and Star Luo, Davis was annoyed to see Xue Qinghe interrupt his pleasant chat. He slung an arm around Tianming's shoulder and remarked with faux cheer, "The crown prince of Heaven Dou doesn't have time to chat with Tianming, but I, the Star Luo prince, do. Why make things difficult for him?"

Xue Qinghe didn't take offense. Instead, he smiled and replied, "Tianming and I have been close for some time—like true brothers. We're simply catching up. Why is that a problem, Your Highness?"

Though both wore smiles, their words were sharp, and even a child could sense the tension in the air.

If Chu Yuxin had been here, she might've shouted, "Stop it! Don't fight anymore!"

Stuck between the two, Tianming couldn't help but inwardly grumble: Qian Renxue, you're really getting into this crown prince role, huh? Bickering like this with Davis just to keep up the act? This is going too far.

Since this was his turf, the ongoing spat was starting to make him look bad too.

Seeing they wouldn't let up, Tianming reached out and pulled the shorter Xue Qinghe closer, draping an arm over her neck. "Brother, give me some face. Let's all go have a drink. No need to put on a show for others to laugh at."

Qian Renxue, still young and new to her undercover mission, froze at the sudden contact.

But Yu Tianming was ridiculously handsome to begin with—and after bathing in the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, he had become otherworldly in appearance.

Standing next to Tianming, both Davis and Xue Qinghe looked like random nobodies by comparison.

As an extreme beauty-lover, Qian Renxue couldn't help but feel a stir in her heart: Tianming is around my age and one of the rare few with innate full spirit power… maybe he's not unworthy of me. Once I take over the Heaven Dou Empire…

With that thought, her stiff body relaxed, and she gently rested her hand on Tianming's back, smiling, "Then I shall humbly accept your invitation."

Though she wore Xue Qinghe's face, her eyes now shone with uncharacteristic tenderness, sending a chill down Tianming's spine.

Davis, seeing their affectionate gaze, also shivered—instinctively clenching his buttocks.

Since Xue Qinghe had agreed, Tianming turned to Davis.

Though Davis felt a little uneasy, he still smiled and said, "Since you've spoken, Brother Tianming, how could I refuse?"

So it was that Davis had an arm around Tianming's shoulder, and Tianming had an arm around Xue Qinghe's. The three looked as close as sworn brothers.

To outsiders, they truly appeared like dear friends bound by brotherhood.

Elsewhere.

Though only four years old, Ning Rongrong had already developed a wild and headstrong personality from being spoiled by Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo.

Xue Qinghe, now Ning Fengzhi's disciple, had always been gentle and accommodating with her.

But now, he had run off to find Yu Tianming, which displeased the little troublemaker.

Among the trio of arm-in-arm young men, the Heaven Dou prince was her father's disciple, the Star Luo prince she didn't know, and the one stealing her spotlight—Yu Tianming—she'd only met twice.

Her father constantly praised him as the "perfect child," the Douluo Continent's poster boy for excellence.

Thinking of this, the little devil Ning Rongrong couldn't help but fume.
