Chapter 37 - Chapter 36(ARC 2-Prologue)

"Have you heard?" A prison guard asked his partner.

"Heard what?" the second prison guard asked.

"Sentinel Takahari was found by his sergeant's dead body!" The guard exclaimed,

"What?!" The second guard exclaimed,

"I know! It's crazy! I mean, why would Takahari kill his own sergeant?" the prison guard expressed.

Kairo slumped against the wall as he looked up, curious about the conversation going on.

Three Hours Ago

Takahari was walking with two newly recruited female senior wardens that would be joining the officer division.

"Now, now, ladies, it really isn't any big deal." Takahari chuckles as he continues walking with the ladies attached to each of his arms.

"Oh, but Mr. Takahari. You're so hot, can't you just have one drink with us?" The lady on his left arm asked, her face puffed and pouty as her crystal blue eyes stared into his.

His face turns bashful as he starts chuckling softly.

"Well, I guess one drink wouldn't hurt! Hahaha!" Takahari expresses before the trio stops abruptly.

A familiar someone standing in their way. Their expression is super pissed off.

"Takahari!! Why aren't you working?" Yurino shouts before leaping at him and bonking him on the head, dropping him to the ground. The two ladies stepped back in fear.

"T-Takahari!"

"M-Mr. Takahari!"

The women shout one after another in concern for his health.

"As for you two! Stop trying to seduce your Sentinel for an easier time!" Yurino scolded them like a massive, inflated monster with sharp teeth.

"W-We're sorry! We just wanted one drink with him!"

"Y-Yeah, we didn't have anything else in mind!"

The women reply back, causing Yurino to get even more aggressive. Delivering two more heavy blows to their heads as well. Afterwards, as Yurino dusted her hands off, the two women ran from the scene. She looked down at Takahari, who was facing upwards, glimpsing up her long skirt.

"The hell are you looking at?" Yurino aggressively questioned.

"You put me here, remember?" Takahari replied back.

Yurino sighed heavily, her anger simmering down. Which in turn allowed her to crouch down and offer Takahari a hand off the ground.

"Well, this is new." Takahari replied with hesitation.

"Shut up and take it. I'm only pulling you off the ground because you're a higher-up. You're supposed to lead by example." Yurino informed him as she gripped his arm and yanked him off the ground.

"How considerate of you." Takahari calmly replied back as he quickly regained his footing.

"While I have you here, I wanted to make sure you told Yaba to meet with the other sergeants." Yurino expressed as she dusted her hands off once more.

"Right, today's the sergeant evaluation..." Takahari recalled before slowly drifting off from the conversation.

"You didn't tell him, did you..." Yurino's disappointment returned as she remembered who she was talking to.

"May... Be..." Takahari hesitantly replied, causing Yurino to start raising her fist in anger once more.

"Wait! Wait! I promise I'll go get him!" Takahari pleaded as he didn't want to be hit again.

"J-Just hurry up! If Yaba's late, it's going to be on you!" Yurino demanded giving Takahari a swift kick to his butt.

Yurino watches as he rushes off from her, shaking her head in disappointment.

"I feel bad for Yaba..." Yurino murmured before turning to walk off herself.

A few moments later, as Takahari arrived at the Officer Division headquarters, he began asking around for Yaba's location. Others would tell him they didn't know. Or they saw him a few minutes ago; it was a mixed bag. But as Takahari continued searching around, he smelled an aroma of blood trailing from a room inside the officers division headquarters on the third floor. His room, to be specific.

As he opened the door, Yaba was on his knees, his head and body slouched forward. His body was lacerated and pierced with several blades. All left inside of him like a pincushion. Blood drooling from different orifices, wounds gushing blood. The moment Takahari took a step into the room, his foot sloshed in a trail of blood that flowed all the way to the door.

Soaking his sock as his wooden sandals splashed it every time he'd walk closer to Yaba.

"W-What happened to you?" Takahari, he muttered as he approached Yaba.

"You... You can't be dead. No... Wait, how can you be dead?" Takahari questioned with worry as he reached for Yaba to try and wake him. His hands were smothering themselves in blood as he shook the body. But it was no use, as Yaba was already gone. Yet Takahari continued shaking him, causing the several blades in his body to shake and dig deeper or fall out from the weight distribution. As some clanked onto the ground, someone from the floor below heard it. Not only that, the blood had soaked so far through that it also began dripping through the floorboards.

This caused an instant reaction from one of the officer wardens, causing them to rush upstairs. The moment they arrived, Takahari was found still holding onto Yaba's body.

They quickly draw their blades and begin surrounding him, their feet also getting soaked in Yaba's blood.

"Sentinel Takahari! Please remove yourself from the corpse and place your hands against your back!" A senior warden demanded as he held his blade ready.

"Stand down!"

"Do as we say now! Another senior warden interjected, causing more to enter the room.

"If you'd let me explain!" Takahari pleaded, but they wouldn't listen.

As Takahari found himself surrounded by several blades, he made his choice. He slowly began standing, his hands visible to the seniors. As they inched closer, Takahari began reaching for his blade.

"Don't even think about it!" A senior warden commanded

"Please, just relax. I'm removing my sword to hand it over in cooperation." Takahari informs

The senior's face held an unsettled look as he feared what he might do. Takahari watches their expression to make sure his movements do not upset them to the point of attacking. Gently, as he began pulling his sword out of its sheath, he held it up with two hands horizontally and slowly set it against the ground.

"I'm going to now stand up slowly; you may restrain me." Takahari informs once more.

Taking it slow, with his hands forming behind his back. With haste, two of the seniors move in. One was quick to grab his sword, and the other was quick to apply the energy cuffs around Takahari's wrists.

His face gave off a strong, distasteful look as he was then escorted out of the room. Leaving behind bloody footprints along the officer's division building's floor.
