Komugi's treatment was complete.
She hadn't woken yet—just unconscious from weakness.
For Joey, she was a lifeline—no way was he handing her over. He hoisted her carefully onto his back.
A quick scan of the battlefield—
His eyes caught Morel and Knov in the distance, closing in with smoke on the weakened Shaiapouf.
Joey's eyes lit up.
He couldn't assist Kite against Neferpitou—that battle was out of his league. But if he could tip the scales by aiding in Pouf's elimination, they might gain momentum.
From here, it was clear:
Pouf's aura was ragged—drained. And with Leol split into dozens of mini-lions nearby, Pouf's ability must've been borrowed.
Joey didn't know why Leol had chosen to aid them, but one fact was obvious—now was the best chance to kill Pouf.
Golden Experience activated.
Joey created hummingbirds, tiny living creatures, and imbued them with Killer Queen's First Bomb.
The birds turned kamikaze, diving toward Pouf.
Bombing.
That was Joey's solution.
Even if Pouf avoided contact, the hummingbirds detonated on command—perfect for suppression and area denial.
And in full wallet Nen mode, Joey could spawn them in droves.
Morel and Knov, having fought alongside Joey before, weren't affected by the blasts—they knew his pattern.
Morel even blew out decoy hummingbirds made of smoke to shield Joey's attacks.
Pouf was being boxed in.
And now, with his borrowed ability gone, Pouf lost his sense for aura distinction—he couldn't sniff out Knov's real body among the smoke clones.
His body division was also disabled.
Though even in basic reinforcement combat, Pouf wasn't weak…
But up against Morel, Knov, and Joey's bombing blitz—he was cornered.
The birds looked unassuming, but that made them more dangerous.
Every step closer, Pouf flinched.
Joey didn't care about contact.
The explosions would speak for him.
Meanwhile, Knov's Open Window lurked in the fog—a death sentence waiting to strike.
Suddenly—
A mini-lion strolled up beside Joey.
"I can watch the girl for you," it chirped.
"Not for free, of course."
Joey didn't even glance.
No way was he falling for that.
He nudged Killer Queen a few steps toward Leol's clone.
The message was clear.
Leol's paws went up.
"Woah, woah—I come in peace. We're on the same side, remember? I helped borrow Pouf's power. If not for me, he'd be halfway across the palace right now."
Leol wanted Joey's ability.
Creating life and imbuing it with explosive Nen—it was rare, precise, and versatile.
For a man obsessed with collecting Nen like Leol, it was a treasure.
He knew better than to show his hand to Knov and Morel—they'd never let Joey get close again if they suspected betrayal.
Joey had his own thoughts:
Leol wasn't like Meleoron or Ikalgo. He'd been a former enemy.
Joey wasn't buying this sudden alliance, especially now.
And there were water marks around the ruins of the throne room.
He knew Pouf had been trapped in Morel's Smoke Jail.
And with Knov's support, there's no way Pouf escaped like in the manga.
Someone helped him.
The water—it had to be Leol's doing.
That's how Leol got Pouf's acknowledgment and borrowed his power.
But something shifted—maybe Leol realized Knov and Morel's powers were more valuable than Pouf's.
Or maybe Pouf threatened him.
But no—ambition fit Leol's profile better.
He likely used trickery or force to get Knov and Morel to owe him a favor.
Meaning… in Leol's Debt Issuer, both of their names were now listed.
That made Leol a threat.
Joey's eyes flicked toward where Leol's clone stood—perfectly shielded by rubble from the others' line of sight.
It all lines up.
Now he had a new plan:
While bombing Pouf, find Leol's real body.
When Pouf dies and Leol's borrowed power disappears—Joey will strike.
But just then, Leol grinned.
"Sharp kid. If not for Pouf's lingering instincts, I wouldn't have noticed your hostility—
Or the mole you sent sneaking toward me…"
Joey frowned, lips sealed.
"Silent? That confirms it. You've already sensed the scales of powder around you, right?"
Behind Leol, butterfly wings unfurled—concealed until now.
They fluttered once—releasing iridescent dust.
Joey's position was downwind.
He was already surrounded.
But Joey wasn't surprised.
From the moment Leol approached, he'd assumed Pouf's abilities were in play. That meant spores, hallucinations, mental interference.
Joey was already holding his breath.
He'd pegged Leol as hostile—and expected exactly this.
But what shocked him was—
Leol had sensed the mole.
Because it was a living creature? The aura made it detectable… Damn.
Still—Joey had options.
He had 5 minutes of lung capacity—more than most humans, though less than Gon's absurd 15-minute mark.
Compared to Meleoron, he was practically a breath-holding monster.
But combat was wearing him down.
Two minutes left… Either kill Pouf, or succumb and get hypnotized.
You're cutting it close, bastard.
Then Joey's lips curled.
His hand brushed against a broken rock from the Dragon Dive strike.
Nen flowed through it—twisted and transmuted.
A baby elephant took shape, warped and malformed from stone, its trunk curled tight.
Suddenly—SNORT.
The elephant vacuumed air at 150 meters per second, its trunk dilating nearly 60%.
Leol's dust?
Sucked clean out of the air.
Within ten seconds, the surrounding poison was nearly gone.
Joey wasn't finished.
Behind him, a massive eagle spread its wings.
Wingspan: over two meters.
A single gust cleared the air around him.
Then—its sharp vision scanned the ruins.
Locked on.
With a screech, the eagle dove, homing in on a hidden point.
Meanwhile, the elephant's trunk whipped sideways, aiming directly for Leol's clone.
