Chapter 48 - Chapter 47: Energy Crystals

After Ian and Adrian resolved the mutated creatures, they continued to explore carefully forward along the passage.

The light of the passageway gradually became dim, and the patterns on the walls on both sides became more and more complicated and mysterious, constantly flickering with a faint blue light, giving people a deep and mysterious feeling.

"What secrets are hidden here?" Adrian couldn't help but mutter in a low voice, his gaze filled with curiosity.

Ian responded softly, "We'll find out soon enough, be careful."

The two gradually went deeper and soon came to a tightly closed, thick gate. The gate was made of some kind of black metal, with countless fine runes carved on its surface, emitting a faint energy fluctuation.

Adrian reached out and gently touched it, frowning slightly, "It doesn't seem to be dangerous, but what's inside here is definitely not ordinary."

Ian nodded and slowly pushed open the door.

Accompanied by a slight muffled sound, the gate slowly opened, and an intense and dazzling light instantly surged out. The two subconsciously closed their eyes for a moment before gradually adapting to the light.

The scene in front of them stunned both of them at the same time: the interior of the room was lined with neatly stacked energy crystals, crystal clear and emitting a mesmerizing light that illuminated the entire room.

"This ... this is the material for making source crystal currency!" Adrian couldn't hide his excitement, his voice trembled slightly, "We're rich!"

Ian was also shocked by the sight in front of him, but he quickly regained his composure and reminded, "Be careful, with so many crystals, I don't know if there are any traps."

Adrian, however, waved his hand carelessly, "Don't worry, is there anything I can't handle?" Saying that, he quickly took out a ring shining with silver light from his bosom and gently turned the ring's inlaid gemstone.

Instantly, a soft curtain of light spread out from the ring, taking the energy crystals in the room into the ring one by one. Soon, all of the crystals disappeared completely, leaving only the room empty.

Ian looked at the ring on Adrian's hand in surprise and asked curiously, "What is this thing that can hold so many crystals?"

Adrian raised his chin proudly, the expression on his face tinged with arrogance, "This is a storage ring made by a spatial ability powerhouse, with a very large space inside that can store all kinds of items, it's very precious. I spent a large amount of money to buy it!"

When Ian heard this, he was even more amazed, "No wonder people say that the Freedom Chamber's wealth is unimaginable, you guys have quite a lot of rare items."

Adrian hummed lightly, his tone smug, "Of course, merchants, always have to have some unique skills to be invincible."

Ian laughed helplessly and didn't say anything more, instead he turned around and continued walking towards the other end of the room.

The two soon crossed the room and came to a small door. After pushing the small door open, they found themselves standing on a vast open-air platform.

Looking up, the sky was surprisingly translucent with a strange purple color, shrouding the entire relic in a layer of mystery. The two of them quickly climbed up to a high place on the edge of the platform and looked down with their eyes, and the entirety of the ruins gradually unfolded in front of their eyes.

The entire relic was huge in scale, with a large number of buildings distributed in a staggered manner, connected to each other by a complex network of roads. The most conspicuous among them was a tall building that loomed spectacularly in the distance, clearly higher than all the other buildings.

"It seems like that tall building should be the most important place in this ruin." Ian said thoughtfully.

Adrian nodded, "That's right, important things are usually hidden in the tallest place. Maybe the others will converge there as well, let's hurry over there as well."

Ian nodded in agreement and quickly determined a route to the tall building. They carefully descended from the platform to the ground and quickly advanced along a wide path.

Along the way, both of them maintained a high level of vigilance. From time to time, all sorts of subtle sounds came from within the ruins, causing them to have to be ready to deal with unexpected situations.

After walking for about ten minutes, Adrian suddenly stopped and signaled Ian to stop. "Wait, it seems like there's something wrong up ahead."

Ian immediately became alert and quickly looked around. Sure enough there were several figures vaguely swaying in the shadows not far away, seemingly waiting for their arrival.

"Looks like the trouble in the ruins is far from over." Ian whispered, tightening his grip on the long lightning blade in his hand.

Adrian smiled and said, "It's a good thing that I've just harvested some wealth, I'm in a good mood. Leave these annoying guys to me."

After saying that, Adrian rushed out, the shadow energy exploded, the ambushed mutant beasts didn't react and were eliminated by Adrian as much as possible, "Just a few of them, no difficulty at all."

Ian squatted down and looked at the corpses of a few mutant beasts, and let out a question, "No, these are just a few SPARK level mutant beasts, how could they use an ambush, there should be a stronger enemy present."

Ian's words just fell, suddenly felt a strong sense of crisis, quickly turned to the left side, a mutant beast swung its sharp claws towards Ian, at this time it was too late to dodge, Ian opened the Rhino Armor Defense, hard to fight against a blow, Ian was directly knocked away, knocked down a big tree in the distance, the mutant beast still wanted to continue to pursue, was temporarily forced back by Adrian's shadow attack.

"Ian, you kid is still alive right, be careful, this is Luminary level!"

Ian got up, feeling the sharp pain in his body, and reminded: this is a mutant beast that is good at hiding, appearing beside me I actually didn't realize it at all.

At the same time, Ian also sighed in his heart at the power of the system, which could fuse abilities of the same type, and the fused Rhino Armor Defense could actually allow him to resist the Luminary level's attack head on.
