Ficool

Chapter 6 - Preparations

Clark finished with the file, placed it on the ground, and looked towards the window while holding the briefcase.

"Should I save Lois? But what if this is part of her life? What if this matter is... No, I don't know. I will try to prevent the operation and leave the future for later."

The kidnapping operation was to be carried out in a month, but Clark wanted to make sure everything was alright, so he began planning the mission...

"But the main problem is how do I get to Metropolis? It's not like I can just run there... Even if I did, I'm still too weak."

Clark looked at the window, then at the sun.

"Damn it, how did I forget? The sun is the source of my power. I'm just a human-sized battery, so if I sit in the sun a lot, I'll gain more strength."

Clark believed he wasn't getting enough sunlight, so he decided to go out more and start. Absorbing solar energy and evolving was a priority for him; who knows what variables might occur in the future.

Clark went out to the farm and began wandering among the animals. The farm was large and had many animals, such as cows and sheep, but he didn't approach them. Instead, he searched for a place to build his initial Fortress of Solitude.

Jonathan was tending to the cows, and Martha was strolling in the small garden she had made herself. The garden was full of different and varied flowers.

Clark sat in the middle of the field on a wooden chair. He enjoyed the sunlight as it entered his cells and provided him with energy. In fact, even at a young age, Clark felt he didn't need food or drink; he felt and knew that he lived solely on the yellow sunlight. However, he still tried to act like a normal human, perhaps because in his previous life he had been just an ordinary person.

He continued to sit for a while until Martha noticed him. She looked at the child, who was not yet three years old, sitting under the sun with a sweet smile and closed eyes.

"How beautiful is my little one," she said as she approached him, smiling. "Clark, honey, do you want to play with me?"

"What shall we play?"

"I don't know, do you want to play soccer?"

"Yes, definitely!"

Clark agreed to play, and then Martha played with her son, and Jonathan joined them after a while.

...

In the evening, while everyone was asleep, Clark Kent ran all over Smallville. He discovered that he had become faster than he was yesterday, not a great speed, but better than before. Clark was wearing all black clothes with a black mask that only showed the openings for his eyes and mouth.

Clark wandered between the farmlands and houses in Smallville. Before dinner, he had taken the phone from Martha and started memorizing the map of Smallville. For our world, the DC universe is somewhat different. In some aspects, it resembles our world, but there are places and regions that do not exist, including Smallville, Gotham, Metropolis, and others.

So, Clark was trying to explore the city and memorize its map. Yesterday, he had encountered many problems because he couldn't find his way, and although things turned out alright, for him, it was unacceptable.

"To win a war, you must know the terrain where you fight."

Knowing Smallville would allow him to know the whereabouts of criminals, and thus he could overcome them. Clark continued to roam around the city at top speed.

In the abandoned cabin, Lex Luthor was monitoring the cameras located everywhere in Smallville.

"He's here, heh heh heh, he's here."

Lex laughed as he looked at a shadow moving quickly in the cameras. On the camera, it looked like a black spot moving fast.

Lex picked up the juice placed on the table and began to drink.

"Let's see what your story is, you spot."

Lex sat watching. He had spent the entire day installing surveillance cameras around Smallville. The cameras were small, but Lex had placed them in perfect locations, allowing him to film the entire area without any blind spots whatsoever.

...

Earlier, in the prison, in the empty interrogation room, Mr. Rain was sitting in front of his boss's lawyer. The lawyer was looking at him with hateful eyes because of his failure in the simple task assigned to him.

"Tell me what happened," the lawyer said to Rain angrily.

"I don't know what happened. Things were fine, but when we arrived, the lights were off, and there was no movement of any kind. So, Morgan Edge told me to stand near the car, and I was ready to escape at any moment. But in an instant, Morgan was lying on the ground unconscious, and the next moment he was in front of me and started hitting me with all his might. I swear to you, Mr. House, I was trying to escape, but the attacker was not normal at all. His speed and strength were inhuman."

Mr. Rain said, remembering the shameful incident that had befallen him. His body began to tremble with fear.

"What about the briefcase?"

"He took the briefcase. It wasn't there when the police came."

"What about the file? Did you hand it over to Morgan Edge?"

"No, sir, I didn't. I wanted to hand over the money with the file, so I put it in the briefcase."

"..."

He was so angry that his mind began to spin. He felt like he had lost years of his life.

"Are you saying you didn't get rid of the file?"

"I apologize, I'm sorry, I didn't know."

"Try to pray that the file doesn't fall into the hands of General Sam Lane, or you will see hell."

Lawyer House said, looking at Rain sitting in front of him.

...

Clark finished his nightly tour around the city. Fortunately, no accidents occurred, so Clark returned to his home after finishing. He was ready for a new day.

In the following week, Clark continued his nightly patrols around Smallville, and Lex Luthor watched him. No incidents occurred. For a town like Smallville, which is a rural town, there weren't many problems, and most things didn't require Superman's intervention in this.
