"Status."

As soon as I muttered that word, a translucent window shimmered into view before my eyes, floating mid-air like a reflection on invisible glass.

Hmm...

My Strength, Agility, and Vitality have all improved. Even my mana has increased quite a bit.

I can probably heal fifty people without breaking a sweat now. Not bad. My healing skill has even gone up to D-rank.

Not bad at all, Cassian.

Tomorrow, I'll finally learn what kind of work I'll be doing as an Exorcist. Guess it's time to mentally prepare myself for undead stench and potential zombification…

But first—chores.

I opened the wardrobe and began unpacking. Good thing I asked the church to issue me a magic bag. Without it, I'd probably still be dragging my stuff through town.

Magic bags are amazing—enchanted with space magic, they can hold way more than they appear to. Best part? No extra weight. Not even a gram. It's like carrying a cloud.

As I finished putting away the last of my folded robes, a sudden noise echoed from my stomach.

Grrrrowl.

"…Ah."

Right. I hadn't eaten anything today.

Let's go see what the Church cafeteria has to offer. Though I doubt anyone can beat the Bear Chef…

Navigating the place was easier than expected. The church had thoughtfully placed signboards throughout the halls—clear and simple. Within five minutes, I was standing in front of the cafeteria door.

Inside, the hall was modest in design but clean and well-lit. The scent of warm food lingered in the air, tempting and comforting. There weren't many people around—probably because it was late.

I grabbed a plate and made my selections: a few golden-brown egg rolls, garlic bread, cheesy potatoes, a juicy steak, and a steaming bowl of mushroom vegetable soup.

I sat at an empty table and took a moment to admire the spread.

Alright, let's see if it passes the Bear Chef test.

I brought a spoonful of the soup to my lips.

Swoop…

Haaa… that's nice. Warm, savory, with a hint of herbs.

"But I still think the Bear Chef makes better food," I muttered, smiling to myself as I reached for an egg roll.

Just as I was about to take a bite, a deep voice rumbled behind me—

"Oh? Bear Chef makes better food, huh?"

I froze, the egg roll halfway to my mouth.

Wait… who is this …
