Chapter 43: The Upcoming Performance
"Found Peter!?"
Gwen's joyful voice attracted everyone's attention. Aunt May hurried to Gwen's side, not speaking, just looking at her expectantly.
Uncle Ben quickly came to Aunt May's side and supported her with both hands. Mary Jane stood behind them, not stepping forward, but the concern in her eyes was obvious to anyone.
"Habby found Peter!" Gwen, holding the phone, shared the news she just received with everyone.
"Oh my God." Aunt May was so excited by the news that she almost fainted, thankfully Uncle Ben behind her supported her.
Ben pointed to Gwen's mobile phone. Gwen immediately understood and handed the phone to Ben. Ben took the phone but didn't answer immediately, instead holding it to May's ear.
"Habby, this is Aunt May," Aunt May said, her eyes moist and her voice trembling.
"Oh, hello Aunt May," Yang Le greeted. "Do you want to hear Peter's voice? It's just that his condition might not be too good."
"What happened to Peter?" Aunt May asked anxiously, tugging at everyone's heartstrings. Uncle Ben simply turned on the phone's speakerphone.
"It's nothing serious, just a slight concussion."
"How could Peter get a concussion? What exactly happened?" Aunt May asked again.
Faced with Aunt May's inquiry, Yang Le obviously couldn't tell them the truth and could only tell the excuse he had just made up.
"It's a long story. After I learned about Peter's disappearance from Gwen, I asked friends on the street to help find him. You know, those Bad Boy are very well-informed in these matters, and they really helped me find useful information."
Yang Le paused, swallowed, and continued, "I got information saying that a short, Glasses-wearing kid was being troubled by a group of Bad Boy. I guessed that the one in trouble should be Peter."

"Thank goodness! It's good that Peter is alright." Aunt May covered her mouth and sobbed slightly. Mary Jane stepped forward at this time to comfort her.
Gwen scratched her head after seeing this, deciding not to steal her good friend's chance to show concern.
"Thank you, Habby. Peter is really lucky to have a Friend like you," Uncle Ben thanked Yang Le, substituting for the sobbing Aunt May.
"You're too kind, Uncle Ben," Yang Le replied with a smile.
"No, it's me. I've also learned a lot from Peter." Of course, from the Peter in the main Universe.
Under Uncle Ben's Inquire, Yang Le told Uncle Ben the Hospital Room number. Uncle Ben and Aunt May would come over later to take over caring for Peter.
After exchanging a few pleasantries, Yang Le hung up the Phone.
After hanging up the Phone, the smile in Yang Le's eyes disappeared. He put away his Mobile phone and took out the Needle wrapped in a Transparent Evidence Bag from his pocket.
This was found by Yang Le in the Warehouse where Peter was found. It should be the stuff in this Needle that turned Peter into a Lizard Man.
Yang Le carefully observed the Needle. Although most of the Serum had been injected into Peter's Body, there were still a few drops left in the Needle. The green liquid had an unspeakable eerie Feeling under the light.
Of course, Yang Le didn't intend to rely on it to find the culprit like a traditional Detective. That would be too inefficient. For Yang Le, who had already Unlock all Authority of the Omnitrix, there were more and better ways waiting for him to use.
Putting away the Needle, Yang Le sat on the Hospital chair and quietly waited for Uncle Ben and the others to arrive.

"So, what's the truth?" Gwen leaned close to Yang Le and asked secretly.
"What truth?"
"Don't pretend. Peter definitely wasn't attacked by street thugs like you said on the Phone, right?"
"Let's talk about this later?" Yang Le waved his hand and then changed the Topic. "Your Clothes look good today."
Gwen pouted, obviously dissatisfied with Yang Le's answer, but she still suppressed her questions in her heart, planning to get to the bottom of it when they got Home anyway, since she was still living at Yang Le's Home.
It was also strange that even though her dad had been discharged from the Hospital long ago, and even the Home had been renovated, her dad didn't ask her to go Home, but instead let her continue to stay at Yang Le's Home.
Faced with her dad's abnormality, Gwen quickly thought of the time George left Yang Le alone. She really didn't know what the two of them talked about during that conversation.

"Alright, Gwen," Mary Jane also walked over at this time. "It's almost time for us to go on stage. Prepare yourself and stop bothering Habby."
"By the way, are you two really not going to see Peter?" the Keyboardist Glory asked from the side. "I heard he was injured and hospitalized, wasn't he?"
"Peter said he couldn't ruin your days of training because of him, and..." Yang Le took out a Recorder from his bag, shook it, and continued. "And, he also asked me to Video Recording it, saying he was very sorry he couldn't come to the venue to watch your Performance."
"Oh, that's for sure. Band Performance, live and Video Recording are not even in the same league, okay?" Betty said while tuning her Bass. "Those street thugs are really unforgivable."
"I also hope you guys try not to mention it in front of Peter." Betty's words made Yang Le feel a little guilty.
Peter had no memory of when he turned into a Lizard Man at all. Because Yang Le hit Peter's head hard, Peter lost some more memories, so even Peter himself thought the story Yang Le made up was true.
This Feeling of bullying an honest person made Yang Le feel guilty all the time.
"Habby, what's wrong with you?" Mary Jane looked at Yang Le in confusion. "Why are you sweating so much?"
"It's nothing, it should be because the Heating in the Backstage is turned up too high," Yang Le said nonchalantly, wiping the sweat from his forehead.
