Chapter 58: Peter's Anomaly
Yang Le and the others' visit brought a bit of comfort to the bored Peter. During their visit, Harry also told Peter about the Dance.
"It's a real pity you couldn't make it to the Party, Peter," Harry said, looking at Peter with regret.
"Peter not attending isn't entirely a bad thing," Yang Le offered a different opinion from the side, drawing everyone's attention to him.
"If Peter had been there, he definitely would have fought Thompson. Then, the ones getting Punishment might have been both of them."
Everyone thought there was some truth to this, especially Harry and Mary Jane. These two hadn't known Peter for very long. Their impression of Peter was only of bravery. Peter, who wasn't even afraid of Rhino, how could he be afraid of a peer?
So, they all felt that if Peter had attended the Party, he would definitely have fought Thompson for Mary Jane, and Peter would likely win because he had already won once before.
"Looking at it from a different angle, it's true," Mary Jane said, her eyes full of tenderness as she looked at Peter.
"But let's not have this kind of missed opportunity again in the future, Peter. Promise me, stay away from dangerous places in the future."
"Oh, um," Peter seemed a little flustered, which caught the attention of the other three, excluding Harry.
"What's wrong, Peter?" Mary Jane, who was closest to Peter, asked first, followed closely by Gwen.
"You're sweating a lot. Are you feeling unwell somewhere?"
"I think Peter can't handle the love in Mary Jane's Eyes, right?" Harry said with a mischievous smile from the side.
"I don't!" Even Mary Jane couldn't help but be affected by Harry's joke.
"Don't lie, Mary Jane. Just now, your Eyes looked like they wanted to eat Peter up," Harry laughed loudly.
Mary Jane, embarrassed and angry, took a Banana from the Fruit Basket and threw it at Harry. Harry didn't dodge or avoid it, letting the Banana hit him.
Harry, hit by the Banana, let out a strange cry, like he had been shot. He leaned on the Window Sill beside him, acting like a third-rate actor, and slowly fell to the ground.
Everyone was amused by Harry's performance, and the Hospital Room was filled with a joyful atmosphere. However, this atmosphere didn't last long. The door of the Hospital Room was suddenly opened.
"Please be quiet, everyone," a Nurse with a serious expression pushed the door open and walked in.
"This is a Hospital. Patients need to rest quietly."
"Sorry." ×5
The apologies were unanimous. The Nurse saw that everyone's attitude was good, nodded, closed the door, and left the Hospital Room.
After the Nurse left, everyone looked at each other and noticed the smiles at the corners of their mouths. However, after the warning just now, no one dared to laugh out loud.
While everyone was secretly smiling, Peter secretly breathed a sigh of relief, but it was only for a moment. He quickly reintegrated into the joyful atmosphere, not attracting anyone else's attention.
Except for Yang Le, he noticed Peter's anomaly. He didn't make a sound, just silently noted it in his Heart, deciding to pay more attention.
Everyone played around for a while longer and then left one after another. Peter expressed his understanding, after all, everyone had their own Business to attend to. He was already very touched that they could spend some Time with him.
On the way Home, Yang Le told Gwen about his discovery.
"You said Peter was a bit off? Now that you mention it, it does seem like it," Gwen frowned, recalling Peter's appearance just now, and realized that Peter's expression was indeed a bit strange.
And it wasn't at all like Harry said, because of shyness. She had seen Peter when he was shy, and it was nothing like just now, more like...
"Like he's hiding something," Gwen blurted out, then immediately felt something was wrong.
"But why? What does Peter need to hide? And hide it from all of us?"
Yang Le also felt strange. After thinking about it, there was only one possibility.
"Peter might have lied. He might still remember turning into the Lizard Man."
"What's there to hide about that?" Gwen asked, puzzled, and looked at Yang Le, noticing that he was looking at her with a strange expression.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing," Yang Le said, taking out his Key to open the door.
"It's just unexpected that someone would forget what they were like when they first got their Ability."
Gwen was taken aback by these words, coughed, and said, "You mean, Peter is afraid that he can turn into the Lizard Man and scare us? But isn't he unable to turn into the Lizard Man anymore?"
"Peter might not know, right?" Yang Le's tone was a little uncertain as he pushed open the door and walked into Home.
"Peter wasn't knocked silly by you, was he?" Gwen followed him in, glancing sideways at Yang Le.
Gwen's words made Yang Le, who was beside her, stunned.
Could it be that his attack didn't make Peter lose all of his Memory, but instead, just scrambled them?
If there was a set of Building Blocks that had been put together, and Yang Le smashed the assembled Building Blocks, Peter would want to restore it, but without a Blueprint, he could only assemble it according to his own understanding. Mistakes would be inevitable. To put it simply, it's Memory disorder.
Thinking of this, Yang Le broke out in sweat.
"Find some Time to explain it to Peter properly," Gwen suggested to Yang Le, who was covered in sweat.
"That's the only way," Yang Le nodded, accepting Gwen's suggestion.
As for why not explain it immediately, it was because they had Serious Business to do.
The two of them came to the Study Room, expertly opened the Portal, and arrived at their Secret Base—the Bathtub.
Compared to the previous emptiness, there were many new things here. Various Equipment were placed in an orderly manner by Yang Le.
The Resources for making these Equipment came from the Sea, personally provided by Ocean Ranger—Big Jaw.
In the Deep Sea, Big Jaw is indeed still useful, not only because of his superb underwater speed, but also his Ability to ignore Deep Sea Water Pressure.
The most important thing is his Steel Teeth that can bite through gold and chew iron. They are the best mining Tools.
The only drawback is that biting too much makes his Chewing Muscle ache.
"Watching the things here increase little by little, I suddenly feel a sense of pride," Gwen said with emotion, looking around. She had also put in a lot of effort in building the Secret Base.
In this process, Gwen also learned a lot from Grey Matter and Grey Matter, and it can be said that she benefited greatly.
"Peter will definitely be envious to death when he finds out," this was a sentence Gwen had been saying all along during that Time.
However, Yang Le and Gwen didn't come to the Secret Base today to reminisce, but to do Serious Business.
They had already investigated the Company that invented the Radiation Spider Project, and the Name of that Company surprised them both.
Osborn Company, the leader of Osborn Group, and also founded single-handedly by Harry's father, Norman Osborn.
"I really didn't expect this matter to be related to Harry," Gwen scratched her Head, feeling a headache coming on.
Yang Le's surprise was in a different Direction from Gwen's, because he knew that once a relationship with Osborn was involved, it was very likely to lead to another Supervillain.
Green Goblin!
