Chapter 23 - VANGUARD OF ASHES

The battlefield was a hymn of chaos sung in screams and fire.

Above them, reality had cracked open. The sky bled violet as if the world's skin had been torn. Rift storms whirled like demonic whirlpools, dragging in clouds and vomiting out abominations—serpent-limbed horrors, eye-less winged wraiths, and spined beasts that clicked as they flew.

The Abyss-Giant towered above all. Thirty feet tall, skin like cracked obsidian and sinew stitched with silver veins that pulsed with cursed light. Three eyes blinked independently—one embedded in its chest, another on its brow spinning endlessly, and a third embedded in its mouth, glowing like a demonic sun. Each footfall didn't just crush the earth—it made time hiccup.

Rocks lifted. Then fell. Then floated again. Screams bent and echoed like they were trapped in old radios. The wind itself screamed.

Satya's breath fogged despite the heat. His wings unfurled—wounded but alive, flickering with Garud-flame.

He muttered, "Okay… round two, fatboy versus Kaiju."

His knees cracked as he launched forward, flames jetting from his soles. The force cratered the ground beneath him.

The Giant raised an arm the size of a tree trunk. Satya juked right just as the fist fell. A boom like a meteor strike flattened a hundred meters. Dust erupted like volcanic ash.

Satya vanished into it—silent.

A flicker above.

Mid-air, Satya flipped over the Giant's shoulder, sweat streaking across his scorched cheeks. His fingers etched glowing trails in the sky as he shouted—

"Agneyastra: Seal Break—Chain Form!"

Seven flame-chains exploded from his arms. Each whip writhed with divine fire.

One latched onto the Giant's jagged horn, another its lower jaw. The other five tried to bind the shoulders, the legs—

But the monster grinned.

With a guttural growl, it twisted its neck violently and yanked.

Satya screamed as the world blurred. He was hurled like a flaming ragdoll across the field.

CRASH!

Stone shattered. He smashed through a cliffside, embedding into it like a comet. Debris rained down. Blood painted his lips.

"You're not built to tank that yet!" Oorja's voice snapped in his mindspace.

"I know!" Satya coughed. "Still made it look cool though… tell me I didn't."

"Bro, you looked like a flying potato."

"Rude."

🔱 VAIDEHI & YUG – DEFENSE LINE

Elsewhere, Vaidehi stood atop a levitating obsidian shard—like a queen of war.

Her trident hummed as it spun in her hand, channeling her darkwater energy. Around her floated blackwater spheres—dozens, orbiting like death moons.

Below her, Yug had merged with the terrain. His body was now a walking fortress—roots, rock, and pulsing runes. He looked like Mother Earth got angry and gave birth to a tank.

"Yug, on three," Vaidehi called, calm as ever.

"Do not mess up the count this time," Yug warned. "Last time you said 'three' twice."

"Three."

BOOM.

The blackwater spheres shot out like missiles.

Each pierced flying void-creatures with perfect timing—slicing, melting, imploding them mid-air.

Below, Yug slammed his arms down. The ground roared as stone hands—monolithic and rune-etched—rose like Giants and clapped together.

A swarm of Voidlings were crushed between them with a sound like fruit being juiced.

"More incoming!" Yug shouted.

Vaidehi smirked. "Let them come. The water remembers."Then she dove—spinning, her trident unleashed a drill of spiraling water. Five airborne threats were shredded like dried leaves in a storm.

⏳ VAYUNANDA – EDGE OF TIME

On the right flank, time itself seemed to stutter.

Vayunanda was a blur, faster than thought. His chrono-blade split seconds instead of atoms.

A beast lunged at him. For a moment, Vayunanda disappeared—then reappeared behind it, sword already red. The beast paused, confused. Then collapsed, sliced backward in time.

He traced a circle mid-air with his blade. Reality bent.

A pack of monsters were caught in a loop, dying again and again in eternal rewind.

Vayunanda whispered, "Justice is a circle."

He paused, looked toward Satya, and muttered, "Bro is getting cooked over there…"

🐉 SATYA – INSIDE THE TITAN

Inside the Giant's chest cavity, it was hell reborn.

Pulsing veins of void-energy lined the walls. The Heart Room throbbed with rhythm—like a demon breathing.

At its center was the Crimson Core. Shadows coiled around it, whispering names not heard since the first wars.

The defenses activated.

Laser glyphs lit up. Spikes launched from walls.

Satya ran. Vaulted off the wall. Jumped sideways mid-flip. Punched off a rune panel. Skidded across a sloped bone ramp.

Flames erupted from his palm as he spun and redirected a wave of death-spikes by mere inches.

"Alright. Enough gymnastics," he grunted. "Let's break the plot armor."

He planted both palms forward. Flames surged.

"Garud Sigil—50% Sync. Override command."

His back exploded in divine orange light. A glyph appeared behind him—half-formed, burning like an unfinished god's halo.

Runes seared his skin. His veins screamed.

Time bent. The Heart beat once—then paused.

Then BOOM—

He punched the core with every ounce of chakra, rage, and destiny.

"FOR BHARAT!"

💥 FINAL SEQUENCE – EXPLOSION & ESCAPE

Outside.

The Giant's eyes went wide.

Its chest glowed from within—a rising sun of red and black. The core collapsed.

Oorja, floating mid-air, snapped to the others. "DOWN! BRACE NOW!"

Vaidehi raised a bubble of darkwater. Yug embedded his fists into the soil and summoned stone shields. Vayunanda rewound his position back five seconds and hid in a bubble of slowed time.

The Giant exploded.

A sphere of voidfire erupted. Shockwaves cracked the land like dried clay. The sky tore. Demons within a hundred meters evaporated.

And from the heart of the explosion—

A lone figure burst out. Satya. Wings burnt to threads. Body cracked like old pottery. Blood trailing.

He was falling.

Oorja blinked once and appeared mid-air.

"Catch of the day," he muttered and redirected Satya's fall, letting him land gently into Vaidehi's arms.

"Oof, you're heavy."

Satya opened one cracked eye. "It's… all muscle… I swear…"

Yug collapsed beside them. "Dude, you look like deep-fried biryani."

Vayunanda walked over. "Next time, let's not let him solo the Kaiju, yeah?"

Satya coughed blood. "I had a plan..."

"Yeah," Oorja said. "Explode and hope."

Vaidehi rolled her eyes. "He's basically a magical bomb with wings."

Laughter followed. Ragged. Wounded. But alive.

Then…

The sky above churned again.

The clouds—turned violet.

Oorja's expression changed instantly.

His smirk vanished.

"...New problem. Second Rift isn't gone."He paused. His voice dropped.

"It just evolved."
