"Hey baby" Magnus greets Anthemon after she opens her door for him. It was a weekend and he passed by her home to visit her. Well, they were officially an item.
"Heyyy" she replied with a sense of fulfillment. What she had planned worked. Well, no one, not even a single living soul, knew what plan Anthemon conjured up in her mind.
Magnus looks deep into Anthemon's brown pupils as she does his, the white door behind him, slamming shut. Still maintaining an unbreakable eye contact with Anthemon, a rush of energy, a peculiar desire, surges through him. He brings out a little smirk. Anthemon cups his face, drawing closer to him, biting on her lips seductively. He rubs his face gently in her soft palms, his eyes closing and his lips stretching into a seductive smile. She rubs both his cheeks with her thumbs, letting go of his face slowly. She crosses her outstretched arms behind him, resting her elbows on his shoulders. Magnus runs his left middle finger up Anthemon's right thigh, all the way to her waist where he grabs tightly toward him. Anthemon moans slightly, her face now almost glued to his. She looks at his eyes, down to his lips and back up to his eyes. Her lips could feel his breath and his could feel hers. That warm fuzzy feeling erupted sparks all over the two. There was extreme silence. Magnus brushes Anthemon's cheek with his right thumb. He rests his back on the door and Anthemon draws closer once more, resting her palms on his chest. She could feel his increasing heartbeat, rubbing his nipples slightly through his shirt. She rubs her nose softly against his and Magnus smiles slightly. Anthemon was driving him crazy. She wanted him and he wanted her, so badly. Magnus, gently takes Anthemon's palms from his chest and turns her such that her back now leaned on the door. He raises both of Anthemon's hands into the air and pins them onto the door. He holds on tightly to them, each finger of his, intertwining with hers. He tilts his head slightly and so does she, in the opposite direction. They both close their eyes, lost in the beauty of the moment. Magnus rubs his nose against Anthemon's, kissing it gently. He brings his lips back down to meet hers and before long, their lips locked in a great passionate kiss which Magnus himself waited for all his life.
In Elaine's home, she tells her parents that she wants to go visit some friends, her parents allow her, oblivious to what she was actually up to. Elaine was going to visit the man. She could visit him now and not pay anything to Margot so why not take that chance. The man's cabin was a bit old but Elaine cared less. The first time she saw him, she wondered what a beautiful person such as himself would be doing in such an old cabin. That would be the first question she would ask him when she arrives at his doorstep. As Elaine walked, she passed by a park, now dead and abandoned, where she and Sabine used to play. That was the very same park Sabine confessed her love for Magnus and Henry to her. She remembered how Sabine would say she was caught in a web of love with a lot of lines, the two main being Magnus and Henry. However, what Sabine didn't know at the time was that Elaine also had feelings for Henry, strong ones, unlike her confused feelings for both Magnus and Henry. Elaine just smiled at that thought and walked on the road to the old cabin. This old cabin was somewhere close to the woods but Elaine didn't remember exactly where. Even though Sabine's house was around that area, she didn't remember seeing it when Margot first brought them. She looks around and a few meters ahead was Sabine's house but there's something strange. There's a hooded figure behind the house. It was almost like, the figure was trying to find its way in, through the back. Curiosity got the best of her and she quickened her steps to the figure. As she got closer, "You?..." she asks, her eyes squinting with recognition. It was the man Margot brought her and the other girls to. He was in all black.
"No, it's not what it looks like" the man pleads.
"So explain what you are doing over here" Elaine whispers. She didn't want Sabine's family to know she was around because she didn't exactly explain to them the reason she left their daughter in the mud. Could she even?
"I was checking some stuff out in the woods and I could smell something sweet so I came to check what it was" the man replies, trying to convince Elaine.
She giggles.
"Wait no, but this is Sabine's bedroom" Elaine says, stretching her neck into the slightly open windows of Sabine's bedroom.
"Are you spying on her? Is that why you were so interested in her?" Elaine asked, her whispering voice increasing in pitch.
"Well umm…" the man says, trying to come up with another excuse.
"Who's there?" a voice asks from Sabine's bedroom. It was Sabine herself, taking a quiet nap before she heard annoying whispers.
She takes a look outside and there's no one there. Her mum, Catherine White, hears her daughter. She comes and asks her,
"Is everything alright hun?"
"Yeah, I thought I heard some noises that's all" Sabine replies respectfully to her mother.
"Get some rest okay, school days are already stressful as is" her mum says.
As soon as her mum leaves, someone runs past her window. Sabine felt as though the person was Elaine but brushes that thought off since she and Elaine weren't friends anymore. She goes back to sleep.
"Do you think she saw us?" the man asked Elaine, after they ran from hiding under Sabine's window frames.
"Of course she saw us. Knowing Sabine, she'd definitely realize it's me and brush it off because she knows that we're not friends anymore. What were you doing there anyway?"
The man's attempt to change the subject didn't work as he was caught in a tight place. He had to free himself yet again.
"Ever had a sister taken from you?" the man asks Elaine.
"No, why?" Elaine asks, expressing concern.
"Sabine reminds me of my sister" the man replies
"What happened to her?"
"That's a story for another time"
"Hey, that's not fair. You know, I was actually looking for your cabin before I bumped into you"
"Really, then let's go over there. We can talk better over there" the man replies and they head over to his cabin. Elaine playfully pulls down the man's hoodie and he looks at her with surprise. They both then erupt into laughter but Elaine blushes slightly.
"How many of these do you have?" Magnus asks Anthemon. He holds in his hand a sheet with lyrics written on it.
"Quite a few, I just write songs when I'm bored or when I feel like it. You know, when there's inspiration and something to write about" Anthemon replies.
"Ha! Can relate" Magnus replies.
"How many of these do YOU have?" Anthemon asks. Magnus is shocked and looks to see Anthemon holding his beloved poem diary. He laughs.
"Quite a few as well" he replies.
"You know what… 'Her Name' would make a beautiful song some day"
"I hope it does" Magnus replies, smiling excessively.
"Ooh what's this" Anthemon asks, looking into the diary. "….'Dewdrop'?", she asks, reading the poem aloud.
"Kiss my face with the kiss of moonlight
Warm my numbing cold with the warmth of sunlight
Bathed, you are, in a pool of chrysanthemum petals
Till the good sweet scent settles
Faint sheets of zephyr walk through the splashing waves
Weaving itself onto your skin
Your presence like rain after it touches sand so dry within
Name of flower, Name of silver
Name of power, Make me better"
"Magnus? This is beautiful", she says whilst looking slightly at Magnus with her main focus on his diary.
"Magnus?" she calls out again but there's no response. She was at the open window so she looked back to see Magnus reading something, some of her pieces.
"Anthemon Yaa Tane, you are such a beautiful songwriter" he says
"Umm, well thanks" she giggles
"But what does this mean", Magnus asks, reading from a piece
"I would climb the clouds and mould them into a heart
In a place where nobody goes, I stay
"Red", they called it, "white beauty", I called it
In a place where nobody goes I crave"
"This is definitely talking about heaven" Magnus says, chuckling.
"Really... well, yes" Anthemon says sarcastically.
They both laugh.
School is back in session and it's time for break. The class is empty but the 'Mother of all Girlfriends', Margot, sat with her followers, listening to their weekend scoops.
Elaine explained to them how she went to meet up with the man. The other two girls squealed, saying the man was a ten. Other girls wanted to meet up with him too. They paid Margot for a future trip to his cabin.
"Okay so after I went to visit him. I ended up telling him all about my little drama. So here's it. You see, when we were younger. Sabine liked Magnus and Henry, SIMULTANEOUSLY"
"Mmm", "Oh My Gosh", "Spill girl, spill the tea", "Damn", "That's a huge scoop", "I had no idea", "Who knew Sabine could even love"
All these comments and more whispered amongst the girls. The 'Mother of all Girlfriends', Margot, shushed them and told Elaine to continue.
"But I also liked Henry" Elaine says. Eyes widen. Some girls gasp.
"Yeah, I know right. In case you girls don't know, that's what damaged my relationship with Sabine. So, we weren't friends anymore" she continues.
That was a big, humongous perfectly carved lie. But of course, the ladies believed it.
"After I told my man about this…" she continues and pauses after…
"Your man?", "O-M-Gee Elaine, we're sharing that cake okay", "He's not only for you", "Leave some cake for us", "Mmkay!?"
The place was almost chaotic but lo and behold the Mother, Margot Winters, shushed them again.
"So after I told him that, I went on to tell him about our newest couple, Magnus and Anthemon. After I explained to him that absolutely everyone hated Henry including Anthemon herself, he said that there was no way Anthemon could have truly loved Magnus. Because, Anthemon became open to Magnus after the little diary incident. And the only explanation to that is…"
Unbeknown to them, Magnus was coming back to the classroom to get some money for his snacks since he just went outside to escort Anthemon to get some food.
"…Anthemon didn't want Henry to embarrass Magnus so she 'confessed' her love to Magnus from that hatred she had for Henry. Hence, Anthemon doesn't actually like Magnus, it's just a façade to stop Henry from embarrassing Magnus", Elaine concluded.
"It all makes sense now" Magnus whispered to himself. He heard what Elaine said because he stood at the threshold of the door, listening. The girls were seated such that, their Mother, Margot, faced the front of the classroom and the followers faced her. She was the only one who saw Magnus standing at the door.
"Magnus…" she whispers, looking at the door's direction
All heads turn over there and the girls gasp.
