Chapter 89 - Chapter 0088: The Vicious Dog

The first divine ability derived from the Yin-Yang Eyes, the Yin-Yang Lock, had its greatest strength in suppressing souls, restraining spirits, and exorcising evil entities. But when used against living beings—truly alive, breathing creatures—its effect was limited. At most, it offered some auxiliary support but lacked the raw destructive power needed in true battle.

Naturally, Yi Tianxing was eagerly anticipating the second divine ability to emerge from his Yin-Yang Eyes. He hoped it would be a genuine slaughter-type divine ability.

But hope was all he had.

The process of deriving divine powers from the Yin-Yang Eyes was something he couldn't control. He could only watch helplessly as they took form, unable to interfere, waiting to see what would ultimately be born. And the time it took to mature? Even he had no idea. It could be long, or it could be short.

Now, the second divine ability was beginning to evolve—but tragically, it was happening on the battlefield. There was simply no time to wait.

"Yin-Yang Rings, suppress!!"

Sweeping his eyes across the battlefield, Yi Tianxing saw the Yang family's soldiers locked in brutal combat with the wolf pack. With a slight frown, he let out a sharp command. The nine Yin-Yang Locks instantly morphed into black-and-white Yin-Yang Rings, which shot out toward the savage direwolves.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

The rings latched onto the wolves, but the expected soul-suppressing effects didn't manifest. A layer of silver moonlight shimmered across their bodies, completely blocking the suppressive force of the rings. Their souls remained unaffected, and the wolves continued their bloodthirsty assault as if nothing had happened.

"The moonlight is shielding them from the rings' soul shock. It seems the Yin-Yang Rings are ineffective against the wolves."

Yi Tianxing's brow furrowed even deeper. The Yin-Yang Lock was indeed a divine power meant to suppress souls—but when it came to living beings, it was glaringly lacking. A technique that once proved invincible had now lost its edge. The stronger the lifeform, the more resistant they were to the Yin-Yang Lock's effects.

He could already foresee that in the future, the Yin-Yang Lock would likely prove useless against powerful beasts.

Awooooo!!

Suddenly, a furious howl echoed across the battlefield.

The enormous Howling Moon Wolf King appeared at the outskirts of Yangjia Village, spinning around to glare at Yi Tianxing and the little silver wolf cub skewered on his battle spear. Hatred and rage blazed in its blood-red eyes—it wanted to pierce Yi Tianxing through with its gaze alone. The cub was its offspring, and it had only been away for a short while. It never imagined its child would be killed in its absence.

The rage that exploded in its chest was unstoppable.

BOOM!!

From the wolf king's forehead, the silver crescent moon mark lit up and released a wave of moonlight, condensing into a massive Moon Blade. This blade was several times larger than the one the silver wolf cub had summoned—large enough to match a full-grown adult. It slashed toward the central manor of Yangjia Village like a falling crescent moon, exuding lethal, unstoppable power.

This manor, forged from the Village Creation Token, was the heart of the village. It contained the Fate Pool, the very core of Yangjia Village's existence.

If it were destroyed, the village would fall.

The wolf king's instincts were sharp—it sensed the importance of the manor and sent the Moon Blade crashing toward it. The blade was fast—blindingly so—and its passage tore the battlefield apart. Civilians were cut down where they stood, and blood sprayed like a fountain.

The silver moonlight bathed in blood.

The Moon Blade split the manor in two. A massive crack split open on the ground.

Pfft!!

Yang Ye coughed up blood and stared blankly at the village.

"Yangjia Village... has been breached. Our village's fate has been wounded... Damn beast!!"

Roaring in fury, he thrust his spear again and again, skewering direwolves with murderous force. Blood poured from the wounds covering his body, but he paid them no mind.

Yi Tianxing also witnessed the destruction. His eyes narrowed at the Moon Blade.

"It used the wolf pack to distract the soldiers, then struck from behind to destroy the manor. That's strategy—it has human-level intelligence. And the Moon Blade… it's far more terrifying than the cub's. If the cub was Yellow Rank Tier 2, this Howling Moon Wolf King is definitely at Yellow Rank Tier 4 or even Tier 5—equivalent to Fifth Layer of the Spirit Sea Realm."

He could feel genuine pressure and threat radiating from the wolf king. It had the potential to evolve into a Mystic Rank beast.

"Brother Yi, I beg you—save Yangjia Village!" shouted Yang Yanping. He was bloodied from head to toe but still fighting desperately.

Yi Tianxing didn't answer. He just turned and ran toward the village. That was answer enough.

The wolf king's gaze locked onto Yi Tianxing. He had killed its child—it would now kill him. The other humans no longer mattered. Yi Tianxing was its sole target.

"Woof! Woof! Woof!!"

At that moment, a furious and chilling bark rang through the village.

Everyone turned toward the shattered manor—and there, standing before it, was a vicious-looking dog. Its fur had almost completely fallen off, revealing patches of raw skin and rotting flesh. Only the paws were covered in green fur, like mold growing on decaying food. The sight was nauseating and disturbing.

Next to the dog lay a small child, no more than eight or nine years old. His body had been cleanly severed—cut down by the Moon Blade.

No one knew what the relationship between the dog and the boy had been, but it was clear: the dog was in mourning.

Its red eyes locked onto the wolf king, and it snarled with unrestrained fury. Despite its hideous appearance, its rage was terrifying.

It launched itself at the wolf king—despite being as small as an ant compared to the massive beast.

The wolf king didn't even turn around. As the dog lunged, it casually lifted a hind leg and kicked it away.

Thud!!

The dog yelped and flew dozens of meters, smashing through a shed.

"That dog… there's something off about it."

Yi Tianxing had noticed it immediately. He'd seen strange things before—but never a creature quite like this. The green-furred paws, the decaying flesh—it reeked of something... unnatural.

More importantly, the dog wasn't afraid. Even the wolf king's killing intent hadn't made it flinch.

When it got kicked, Yi Tianxing saw something others couldn't: from its paws, four wisps of green energy leaked out and silently wound their way to the wolf king, seeping into its body.

"That green energy… only I can see it with the Innate Yin-Yang Eyes. It's definitely not normal."

But there was no time to investigate further.

Yi Tianxing pushed forward, cutting down wolves with each step. His battle spear pierced wolf after wolf, and blood soaked the earth behind him. He neared the heart of the village—closer and closer to the wolf king.

"Kill!!"

Suddenly, his battle spear vanished, replaced by a longbow. He stopped in place, drew a steel-tipped arrow, and pulled the bowstring into a perfect crescent.

TWANG!

The arrow whistled through the air, glowing with infused true energy.

The wolf king's pupils contracted. Instinctively, it dodged—but something strange happened...
