Chapter 14 - No Magic Can Heal You(1)

After storing the corpse of the white tiger in his storage ring, the young man and Ava left towards the inner part of the forest.

After sitting on the floor for some time, Alvin also stood up. He walked to the dead bodies of the six wolves and harvested their claws and teeth using a sharp stone as a knife.

Only these two parts were of value in these wolves since they were just common animals without any beast core.

He also collected his quiver and bow along with the three arrows he had used against the wolves. After wrapping the claws and teeth in a large leaf of some unknown plant, Alvin walked back to the entrance of the Heavenly Wood Forest.

On the way, Alvin tried to enter his sea of consciousness several times, but every time he tried, he felt a sharp pain which he could not describe where its source was. So Alvin stopped trying after a few times.

When he exited the deep area of the forest, he saw many hunters on the way. Most of them looked at Alvin with surprise since he was only wearing pants while his upper torso was naked.

There was also the bite mark of a beast on his shoulder, which looked fresh with blood flowing out of it even though in small quantity.

Seeing the unfazed look on Alvin's face was enough to tell the onlookers how tough he was, and so none of them tried to rob Alvin rashly.

After coming out of the forest, instead of going to the Blue Water Village, Alvin walked towards the Heavenly Wood City. If he had to sell the claws and teeth, he could only do so in the city.

"Identity," when Alvin reached the massive city walls of the Heavenly Wood City, one of the two gatekeepers asked Alvin with a frown when he saw Alvin's barbarian-like appearance.

"I am not a resident, I am here trading," Alvin replied in a weak voice. He was already feeling dizzy due to all the blood loss and hunger at this moment.

The guard allowed Alvin inside the city after he checked the things Alvin was carrying.

"Let us sell all this here, I do not think I have any energy left to wander the city here and there," Alvin entered the first shop he saw with the signboard, "Winzen's Little Store" "Buying and Selling of Beast Materials."

"Click..." Alvin pushed open the door and entered the small shop.

"Welcome to Winzen's Little Store, sir. How can I hel..." the enthusiastic young man inside the shop who stood up immediately after hearing the door opening paused his greeting when he saw Alvin's barbarian-like appearance.

"Do not worry, I am not a beggar. Do you buy mortal level beast materials here?" Alvin asked calmly when he saw this.

The young man smiled awkwardly, "Yes, please show me the goods."

Alvin placed the leaf package on the large appraiser's table at the center of the shop.

"By the way sir, my name is Winzo, you can visit me if you have any more similar goods in the future," Winzo said to Alvin as he inspected the goods one by one.

"So there are six sets of wolf claws and teeth, all of them from wolves at the peak of the mortal realm. I can offer you one silver for each set of claws and two silver for each set of teeth..." Winzo said to Alvin after a while of checking the items with a laser scanner.

Alvin nodded, "Fine, give me the money."

Winzo smiled, he went back to the cash counter and took out one gold coin and eight silver coins and gave them to Alvin, "Please visit more often sir, if you can regularly provide materials to our shop I will give you discounts."

Alvin simply nodded and walked out of the shop. He also bought a pair of cheap hoodie and loose pants from a nearby shop for five silver coins.

After having a freshening up in a nearby inn, Alvin ate a big meal containing several high quality blood nourishing herbs. Only then did he feel his fatigue leave him.

"Sigh... since I am already in the city, let's buy some decent weapon before going back," Alvin rubbed his bulging belly and stood up, but then he thought of something and changed his mind, "Let me first visit a healer to properly dress my wound."

Alvin had previously just wrapped up his shoulder using some cheap cloths the innkeeper aunty gave him, but it would be best if he could have one more healing session like what Ava did, then his wound might heal completely.

Alvin entered a small clinic opposite to the inn he was staying. At the reception, a young woman was sitting with a professional smile on her face, there were no other patients at the clinic right now.

"Elder sister, my shoulder was wounded during a hunt, may I know how much it will cost to heal the wound completely," Alvin asked the woman gently.

Just as the young woman opened her mouth to speak, an old man's voice came from inside, "You can just come in."

Alvin nodded at the young woman, who had a displeased look on her face due to the interruption by the old man, and entered the consultation room.

Inside, an old man wearing beach shorts and a flower-patterned shirt was sitting on the chair with a bottle of wine in his hand.

Alvin looked at the old man suspiciously, "Healer?"

The old man did not answer Alvin's question. He took a sip from his bottle and said, "Show me the wound."

Alvin nodded, he removed his hoodie along with the cloth he wrapped around the wound.

"Someone has already treated you," the old man asked after examining the wound.

Alvin nodded, "Mm... someone did treat me, but the wound that got closed up back then is now opening up again bit by bit. The pain is also becoming unbearable now."

The old man's mouth twitched when he heard Alvin talking about pain with no expression on his face, "You do not seem to be in any pain to me."

The old man put down his wine bottle and walked towards Alvin, he pressed his finger on Alvin's wound with a frown on his face.

"Arghh..." Alvin groaned in pain when the old man touched his wound.
