Chapter 14 - EGLM-13: Tutoring Wanda

The Cayenne rolled smoothly onto the side road and stopped at the back gate of the base. Amon scanned the area, and behind a tree, a woman in a baseball cap and hoodie cautiously emerged.

Wanda wasn't wearing her signature red coat today. Her eyes, peeking out from beneath her hair, were filled with sadness and pain. Amon could tell she wasn't afraid of him, but of the protesters. Those crazies were practically foaming at the mouth, ready to tear Wanda apart.

After confirming that the protesters were still busy fighting each other, Wanda jogged to the passenger seat and got in.

Whew!

Once inside, Wanda relaxed, letting out a long sigh. She would rather face Amon than those protesters. Every time she saw their twisted faces, her heart sank.

"It's okay. They didn't see you."

Amon saw her distress and offered some comfort.

"You're not exactly a good guy, but I still want to thank you."

Despite his annoying personality, Amon had chosen to stand by her. He had been there for her, from the beginning to the end, without hesitation. He had even been ready to get out of the car and defend her. It warmed her heart.

Amon was the only person besides the Avengers who cared about her. He had even tried to help her when she was drunk. He hadn't wavered, even though the world was full of hate and criticism towards her.

"Oh?"

Amon's lips curled into a mischievous grin. "Am I not a good guy?"

"Don't pretend. You called me here because of that."

Wanda rolled her eyes, her voice laced with annoyance. Men always thought about those things. What else could he possibly want from her?

"Little witch, you're too dirty-minded. Who's like you?"

Amon reached out and ruffled Wanda's hair. "I have something important to talk to you about."

"What is it?"

Wanda tilted her head, looking at Amon with a curious expression.

"I brought you here to teach you how to control your Chaos Magic."

Amon didn't beat around the bush. He told her his purpose directly.

"Chaos Magic?"

Wanda's eyes widened in confusion. She had never heard that term before.

"It's your power!"

Amon suddenly realized that Wanda didn't know what kind of energy she possessed.

"Chaos Magic? My power?"

Wanda was astonished. "You can teach me to control it?"

She had been trying to control her power, but she couldn't.

"I'm not sure yet."

Amon smirked, his gaze sweeping over Wanda's bundled-up form. "But you seem to want to do something else."

Wanda's cheeks flushed red. He was implying that she was impure. She cautiously looked at Amon's expression. She didn't hate him, but their relationship had progressed too quickly.

"Alright!"

Amon pulled Wanda closer and ruffled her hair again. "Let's stop messing around. Come to my place!"

He started the car, turned it around, and drove towards his estate. He had initially wanted to tell Tony that he could help Wanda stabilize her powers, but it wasn't the right time. He wasn't sure if he could actually succeed. He could only try.

...

...

In the estate's elegantly decorated room, Wanda sat on the white bed, her head bowed, fidgeting nervously. She couldn't help but replay the events of the previous night in her mind. The clearer the memories became, the harder it was to forget, and she could recall every detail. She was even more flustered because she was in Amon's room. Her heart pounded in the quiet room, and she could hear her own heartbeat.

Amon casually picked up a stool and sat opposite Wanda. He moved with grace, and she could smell his cologne.

"Wanda, before we start, I have a question."

Amon sat upright, his expression serious as he looked into Wanda's blue eyes.

"Go on..."

Wanda, initially nervous, was a little uncomfortable with his serious demeanor.

"What do you think your power is?"

Amon paused before continuing. "Is it a mutation? A form of energy? Or has it changed you in some way?"

Wanda pondered for a moment. "I...think it's a form of energy. Hydra injected me with some kind of energy in the lab."

"The energy in my body can be manipulated at will. It regenerates constantly and even changes my body subtly. But it's hard to control. It affects my emotions."

If she could control her power, she wouldn't feel so helpless.

"Chaos Magic does affect the mind, but it's not just a form of energy. It's an ancient form of magic."

Amon explained Chaos Magic as simply as possible. Wanda couldn't control it because the power itself was uncontrollable. To gain control, she needed to constantly improve her mastery through practice. Only then could she suppress the risk of losing control.

If she didn't, she would eventually reach a tipping point. Or she might be corrupted by the Chaos Magic when she lost control, even turning evil. He remembered that this happened to Wanda in the future. She was corrupted by Chaos Magic and became a villain.

"You mean my power is magic?"

Wanda furrowed her brow, her voice laced with disbelief. She thought it was just energy, not magic. Magic seemed too fantastical.

Amon didn't say anything. He nodded firmly, his gaze unwavering as he reached out and took Wanda's hand.

The sudden action made Wanda's heart race, and her body stiffened.

"What...what are you doing?"

Her cheeks flushed, and her body trembled slightly. She hadn't recovered from the events of the previous night.

"Don't be nervous. Relax and cooperate with me."

Amon's eyes were warm and reassuring, and Wanda found herself trusting him.

Amon took a deep breath, his eyes glowing with fire.

Buzz!

The next moment, red energy erupted from his palm. As the energy appeared, Wanda's Chaos Magic was awakened. Uncontrolled, it surged from her palm.

The Chaos Magic and the Phoenix Force intertwined, like vines climbing and entwining. A strange, mystical feeling washed over Wanda.

"This..."

Wanda's eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at Amon. As her energy intertwined with the fire, she felt an overwhelming sense of familiarity. She couldn't explain it, but she felt a deep connection to Amon, a feeling of trust. Even her wary gaze softened.

She looked at Amon's handsome face. He was Asian, but his deep-set eyes and high cheekbones gave him a sharp, angular look that made her heart skip a beat. Just looking at him, her gaze became distant, her body melting like water, her eyes losing focus.

"Wanda, your eyes are acting strange!"

Amon's voice snapped Wanda out of her trance.

"I'm not!"

Wanda's voice rose in panic, but her flustered expression and shaky voice betrayed her.

"Alright, you silly goose. Look here!"

Amon gently pinched Wanda's nose, forcing her to look at their clasped hands.

The Phoenix Force and Chaos Magic were familiar with each other. With his mastery of magic, Amon had simply activated Wanda's Chaos Magic by holding her hand. The two magical energies intertwined, like crimson waves, spreading outwards.

The crimson light, like a shimmering aurora, enveloped the entire room.

Buzz!

The room began to transform at a visible speed. It was like time was rewinding. The furniture and decorations started to become antiquated. As the light flickered, the changes accelerated, transporting them back hundreds of years.

"This...this isn't an illusion. It's real..."

Wanda denied it, her voice trembling. But she could feel the reality of it all. It was beyond anything she could have imagined, flawless in every detail. Every object seemed to have always been this way.

What shocked her even more was that the scene was created by her own Chaos Magic!

Wanda took a moment to collect herself. She gasped, her breathing quickening. "Amon, how did you do that?"

Amon's lips curled into a smirk. "This is Chaos Magic."
