"Of course I'm serious."
Yukika nodded without hesitation.
The title "jinchūriki" might carry a lot of weight and negativity.
But what Yukika meant by becoming a jinchūriki was entirely different from the conventional idea.
If anything, it was closer to a master and companion relationship. Plus, he wouldn't die if the Tailed Beast was ever extracted.
He had already found the answer in his system's marketplace—there was an item that made that possible, it just cost a lot of points.
Of course, taming the Nine-Tails—getting it to obediently provide chakra, maybe even helping him access the full Nine-Tails Chakra Mode—would be a process.
And right now? Yukika was in the middle of building that bond.
"Grandma Mito," Yukika sighed, "I've noticed something… You, my great-grandfather, and a lot of others—you all have some serious prejudice against the Nine-Tails."
He glanced at her stomach, as if he could see straight through the seal to the bewildered expression on the Nine-Tails' face.
And the Nine-Tails was dumbfounded.
What the hell? It's been years—decades! No one's ever said a single nice thing about me…
But now this guy… he might actually be on my side?!
"Calling it the embodiment of hatred… a violent beast… But what did the Nine-Tails ever actually do?"
"From my perspective, the real problem was your husband, Senju Hashirama."
Good grief.
There he goes again, casually dropping his great-grandfather's full name.
Mito's mouth twitched.
Hadn't he already offended the whole clan enough by cursing out Hashirama's memorial in front of everyone?!
"Hey, I'm just being honest. Don't be mad—just let me finish."
Yukika shrugged.
"Back then, it was Uchiha Madara who used his Sharingan to control the Nine-Tails. That's the only reason it attacked Konoha."
"If we're being fair, the Nine-Tails was an innocent party—dragged into someone else's grudge, beaten into the ground by Grandpa's wooden construct, and didn't even get an apology."
"How is that not bullying?"
He spread his hands in exasperation.
"And even then—my great-grandfather grabbed it by the neck with that giant wood golem, claimed it was too powerful to be free, and decided it had to be sealed. Does that sound fair to you?"
"I'm sorry, but I just can't agree with how he handled things."
"And it didn't stop with the Nine-Tails. He went ahead and captured all the Tailed Beasts… then handed them out to the other villages like they were party favors."
"They were living their lives just fine—and then suddenly people started hunting them down to turn them into weapons. You really think that's okay?"
"Did anyone even try to talk to them first?"
Yukika sighed again, looking genuinely disappointed.
"At the end of the day, Tailed Beasts are living beings too, aren't they? Didn't Grandpa always say we should seek mutual understanding?"
"But he didn't even try to understand the pain of the Tailed Beasts himself. Isn't that kind of hypocritical?"
