Danzo cast a dismissive glance at Senju Yukika.
Just a brat, he thought. He had no idea what Sarutobi was thinking back in the village, letting this kid return alive. He never once considered the possibility that his so-called flawless plan had failed.
"Is that so?"
Yukika stroked his chin thoughtfully.
As he'd told Uzumaki Mito, relying on Tsunade alone was never going to be enough to protect the Senju on the battlefield. One little provocation from Danzo, and Tsunade had nearly lashed out.
As expected, Danzo was baiting her—trying to get her to snap, to label her as insubordinate, to drag the Senju name through the mud.
Had Tsunade thrown a punch, by the next morning, the rumor mill would be spinning with tales of the Senju clan attacking their commander over a disagreement.
When it came to playing dirty, Tsunade was still a bit too green.
But now Senju Yukika was here.
"In that case, Tsunade-nee, go handle something for me. Let's show Danzo what the Senju clan is truly capable of."
Without asking for permission, Yukika calmly took the seat Tsunade had been in.
"Wait a moment!"
Before Yukika could say another word, Danzo slammed a hand down, scowling.
"This is war, not playtime. Who allowed a freshly graduated Genin to sit in a position assisting with command?"
"Letting you in here to observe is already a generous favor. Do you really think you get to dictate things on Konoha's frontlines?"
"Get out, before I lose my temper, brat!"

A loud crack split the air as the desk in front of Yukika shattered.
Tsunade had lost her patience. She rolled up her sleeves.
"You old bastard! Who gave you the guts to talk like that to the head of the Senju clan?!"

Grandpa Tobirama, if you were alive right now, wouldn't you have slapped Danzo across the room for treating your grandson this way?
He was the Senju clan leader!

"The Senju clan, as one of the founding families of the village, shares the same rights and responsibilities as other clans, including participation in high-level decision-making."
"As you should know, Commander."
"In times of war, the Senju, like other clans, send representatives to assist with command operations."
"This was a directive from the Second Hokage himself."
"As the current head of the Senju clan, I am sitting in this seat in place of Tsunade to aid with strategic decisions. If you have a problem with that... are you suggesting the Senju clan is no longer part of Konoha?"
"Answer me—yes or no."

Well played.
Checkmate.
Kakashi's father, Sakumo Hatake, glanced at Yukika with admiration.
Would Danzo dare to answer that?
Of course not.
To say the Senju weren't part of Konoha would be tantamount to treason. An insult to the First and Second Hokage.
Would Danzo risk that?
Of course not.
"A fine clan leader, aren't you?" Danzo's face flushed with suppressed rage. "Then tell me, where is your Senju clan?"
All bark and no bite!
"Ah, funny you should ask. I was just about to issue a clan leader directive."
Yukika crossed his arms and sneered.
What did Danzo think he was here for?
To take power.
And more importantly—
"I, Senju Yukika, as the head of the Senju clan, hereby issue a formal clan command!"
"Effective immediately, all Senju who had previously concealed their surname under Konoha's orders are to reclaim the Senju name. All Senju on the frontlines are to reorganize into a unified battalion, under my direct command!"
