Chapter 17 - Negociations

Price!

Now was the time to talk about money.

Payne Hanberg lightly wiped his mouth with a napkin. "Junior Gort, if these products do all you say they can, it could be a revolutionary matter that will push our country at the forefront of economic bliss!"

Everyone in the world would definitely want a piece of this miraculous goods.

What? It can cure diseases, lighten fatigue, heal some hidden ailments, and you don't think they'd want to have a piece of it too?

What is every human's truest desire?—To live!

They all want to live and have the time of their lives. Who likes feeling sick and weak? Who doesn't want to feel strong all the time?

Several people sat up straight, knowing that the goods Gort and his team were offering to the world, didn't just have a delicious taste and a long shelf life, but also had great medicinal value too.

Everyone felt that although they haven't taken these goods to their labs for tests yet, they understood their bodies and could already sense very small changes within.

They had to admit that the changes weren't obvious, but when you think about it… you suddenly realize you don't feel that hidden pain in your chest, and so on.

"Sir, your breathing has gotten a little better…" one of the secretaries whispered to his old boss.

Yes… typically, when the boss breathes, his breathing is so loud, as though it was on a loudspeaker. But after eating, his breathing volume had lowered. It was as if someone had turned down the volume.

What's more, his boss's chest wasn't heaving so hard. He was actually breathing quite normally.

"What?"

Boss Daiko's voice raised several octaves high. Now that they mentioned it, they suddenly felt a little better. The tightness in his chest had eased.

Boss Daiko couldn't recall the last time he felt this way. What was money without good health?

Even though a test hasn't been carried out yet, he and several people already believed the incredulousness of Gort's words.

Everyone now looked at Gort in awe, wondering how the hell a small village boy in such a desolate ace could create such miracles when those in great top-tier schools couldn't.

"Brother Gort, this old man, admires you."

"Same here, I respect you. You said you have a limited supply now, so I, Lilian Fullbuster, am willing to bid 100 Gwins per 5 catties for EVERYTHING."

Instantly, the other buyers grew anxious.

What? We were all chummy just now, and you dare to stab them in the back like this, wanting it all?

Hmph!

They've got two words for you, lady—DREAM ON!

"I'll offer 160 per 5 Catties!"

"No! I'll give 220!"

"Bah! What is 220? Listen to me, brother Gort, I'll give 350 Gwins per 5 Catties!"

Comrade Park and the staff who were listening, almost tripped on the spot when hearing the incredulous prices thrown their way.

They must emphasize that these watermelons weighed 45 Catties!

{*** 1 Pound =0.755 Catties.***}

They're willing to pay 350 per 5 catties…

So didn't this mean that a single watermelon would bring them a yield of 3,150 Gwins?

**(350 ×45/5)**

That was 3,150 GWINS for 1!... And now, you'd say you want to buy the whole bunch of over 1,200?

Isn't that already 3.78 million?

This was just on watermelon alone… what about the other goods they had?

Definitely, the ginseng would sell for higher. The tomatoes will also be a sellout too.

Oh my Buddha, they've never heard of so much money in their lives!

"Everyone, please don't argue. I never said this was a bidding war." Gort chuckled.

"Rather, I want you all to have an equal opportunity to have these products."

Gort was smart. He had waited for them to bid vigorously, so he could know just how much these top buyers were willing to spend.

Sometimes, a new product could fail because the piece set might be too high despite the product's usefulness.

For now, he was happy with how high they were willing to spend.

For the watermelons, they all bided past 500 Gwins for 5 catties… meaning this much was nothing for them.

For Ginseng, everyone knows how expensive ordinary Ginseng was, so it should come as a shock when they were willing to bid and exceed 8,000 Gwins for 5 Catties.

Everyone felt it was only natural for it to be so.

As for the tomatoes, they were comfortable to bid past 300 Gwins for 5 Catties.

"Everyone, even though you all are willing to spend so much… here's my offer as our company's first of buyers"

"For the watermelons… they will sell 400 Gwins per 5 catties."

"The Tomatoes will sell 220 Gwins per 5 catties."

"And lastly, our incredibly medicinal Ginseng will sell at 6,000 Gwins per 5 catties!"

Do you know what 6,000 Gwins is? That's someone's monthly salary for a high paying job.

But don't underestimate the value of Ginseng in the medical world.

If you find a Ginseng they classify as 5, 10 or even 50 years old and bring it to sell at a medical center, they'll give you thousands to buy it off.

Medical Ginseng was quite rare and very hard to cultivate, yet it was an important factor in fighting great diseases like cancer and many more.

Several investors nodded their heads, suddenly feeling that they had gotten all these goods at a cheap bargain.

As promised by Gort, they will get equal shares of products distributed for the first batch of goods.

The second batch of goods will be ready every 2 weeks. So they must send their trucks to come pick it up biweekly!
