"Now here's the negotiation.. I'll let your sister stay in this church and fully support the church in raising her and multiple other kids that might comes here" Eleon said to kale. He thinks of the situation and he thought, 'Just my sister being in here is more than enough for me.. but what is this knight want from me?'.
".. and in return you, you will become my disciple, my apprentice" Eleon add. "Is this all?" he asked the knight. Kale is skeptical because he lived in the street his entire life till now that he knows there's no sweet looking fruit without anything behind it.
In his experience the kids with him in the past had always steal food from vendors of Ahlham. There is a time where they see an apple so shiny that they want to steal it, and they tried too. The kid who tried to snatch it got his arm cut off with the vendor saying, "I know this will attract you, you piece of shit".
Back in the present, kale is being offered something so sweet yet so mysterious. He doesn't know what to do, but if the knight really will provide his sister the needs to live this god forsaken land he will accept it, even if this offer came from a devil.
"Hey now.. no need to be nervous.. I just want you to train and become a knight" Eleon said with a warm smile. 'What a weird smile' Kale thought as he hesitatingly nod on Eleon proposal.
What he want is just one thing, it is to make her sister live a normal life. "Probably your sister will become a nun too.. " Eleon said and added "or maybe a Saintess" jokingly. "What are you even saying?" Kale asked.
"Doesn't matter let's go and meet the head priest of Ahlham" Eleon said as he stand up. Kale followed him through the hall towards the priest office. They arrive at the priest office and he knocked the door and gently open it.
'Until now everyone is bowing their heads to the knight. Is the knight really this influential?' Kale thought as he entered the office and see the head priest bowing his head and giving respect to Eleon.
'Seriously how much authority thus this guy have?' Kale thought. Eleon greeted the priest, "Hello humble priest of Holy Earth, of the Goddess Gretea, I the Holy Knight of Holy Light, of the Goddess Arlia, Eleon come to visit her humble home", the priest response "I welcome you o Holy Knight of Holy Light, of Goddess Arlia, I Lemwel welcome you to humble home of Holy Earth, of Goddess Gretea".
'Wow that's is a long greetings...' Kale thought as he watch the two. Even though he seen the priest multiple times before he had not been this close to the priest. The Goddess of Holy Earth, Gretea, One of many gods and goddesses of the world own governing their own power.
The priest invite the two to sit and have a coffee as they talk. The knight then said the information about the negotiation they have. "So this young lamb want to make his sister one of the lamb under the roof of Goddess Gretea? I cannot probably denied such request! But, I liked to ask for forgiveness from the recent rejections you faced young lamb.. were also just human and we can't endanger the whole for one soul.. I hope you understand this" the priest said as he lower his head.
"No, no, please raise your head priest I understand it.." even though its hard for him to accept the priest is right. If the church pushed it and accept them, or even her sister, the church might have more lower food to distribute and eventually starve.
"By the great Goddess of Earth, you may be blessed" Lemwel said as he agreed on the proposal Eleon have given. "Kale, may I have you wait outside for a bit? We have to discuss some topics before I leave" Eleon ask kale and he just stand up and go outside.
"Hehe.. his still lacking on proper etiquette. Well he's been living on the slums for at least his whole life" Lemwel said and Eleon said "He's still a young lamb who did not find the right way.. that's why I'm guiding him" and Lemwel replied "Yeah, such a young lamb tend to lost its path".
"Now back on the things we need to discuss.. how is the things right now in Ahlham?" Eleon asked. "The Pulen family had done nothing but bring this town to ruin.. I'm afraid we might be evacuating soon if it goes worse than this" Lemwel answered.
"Hm.. this is bad" Eleon said to himself. In the past year because of the lack of authority or any influences outside of Ahlham, the Pulen family can do anything they want. They have even build their own borders facing the three kingdoms that surround them.
"Because they are afraid that anyone might invade them, they are now increasing their military and ignoring the needs of the people. They even stopped the recent goods that is heading towards this church coming from the holy kingdom" Lemwel said.
"What are the Front Frontier of Freedom doing? They have influence over this land than anyone else" Eleon ask but the priest just had worried faced and said, "The Front Frontier of Freedom is letting them go what they please.. do they even have consciousness or any honor on them? They letting people suffer in the name of so called "freedom", how laughable".
"We cannot do anything on them then.. I hope this doesn't go much worse" Eleon said as he stand up and say his farewell to the priest and said that he will investigate this matter more.
"The sin of stealing the goods from the gods is heavy" he said as he go out from the room.
