Chapter 3 - New Daemonist

A flash of light from the room lamp instantly woke Shaan from his sleep. He slowly turned his gaze around and found himself lying on the bed. Strange. What happened just now? Why is there a strange writing that has suddenly appeared in front of my eyes?

"I guess if I go outside and meet someone, I might be able to ask him."

However, when Shaan was about to move from his bed, he was immediately shocked when he saw his palm. He did not expect that there would be a strange symbol resembling a scale on one of his hands that emitted a strange light in the same color as the liquid that was injected into his body.

"Wh-what is this symbol?"

[Symbol successfully identified, Seven virtues: Honesty]

"Honesty? What is this all about?" Shaan shook his head. "And why is this strange writing suddenly appearing in front of my eyes?"

[Name : Shaan Devansh]

[Daemon: Robin Hood]

[*Skill: None]

[Insanity level: 0% ]i

"Daemon? Robin Hood? What does this mean?" Shaan pointed his index finger and tried to shift the writing in front of him. "Maybe if I move it to the side, then this strange writing will disappear."

[Daemon: Robin Hood/Prince of Thieves]

[Attributes: Wind]

[Status: Normal]

[Enigma: Honesty]

[Bond: 0/100] i

[*Skill: None]

[Info: Robin Hood is a heroic villain in English Folklore who, according to legend, was a highly skilled archer and swordsman. He is often portrayed as a prince of thieves and always robbed the rich to give to the poor.]

"Wait, I don't understand what this is all about." Shaan scratched his head. "Argh, and why can't these writings disappear at all?"

Just a few minutes later, the door to Shaan's room opened. A white uniformed officer wearing a hat entered Shaan's room, pushing a trolley with several glass bottles neatly arranged on it, with a label that read "medicine". Without lingering, Shaan immediately ran frantically towards the officer, surprising the officer at Shaan's behavior.

"Sir, please help me. I don't understand what's going on with me at all." Shaan's face looked panicked. "These strange writings keep popping up in front of my eyes, and I can't get rid of them in front of you at all," he continued, tugging his hair. "I've tried shifting it to the side, but it just keeps popping up. I have no idea what's going on."

"Calm down, buddy.. It's a normal thing to happen for a beginner." The officer slowly guided Shaan back to his bed. "Sit here and listen to my instructions. Close your eyes and make yourself calm first. Then, slowly inhale deeply for a few seconds and then exhale slowly," the officer said while practicing in front of Shaan. "Do this 3 times and slowly the status window popping up in front of you will slowly disappear by itself."

"Alright, I'll try."

Shaan then followed the officer's directions calmly. The first try was made, and the explanation of his status window in front of him began to gradually disappear. Good, it seems that the method was conveyed by this officer. He then repeated this three times until finally everything returned to normal.

"How is it? Is it working?"

"Yes, thank you for your help." Shaan nodded his head.

"Good, you listened to my instructions well." The officer smiled. "If you want to see your status again, you can activate it using a mental command. To be able to activate the mental command, you must focus your mind on what you want to see, such as your skills or status."

"Alright, I understand now."

"Now, I will check your condition first," said the officer as he picked up the tablet on the second row of shelves, then pointed it at Shaan. "Hmm... it seems that your condition is fine as well as your Daemon. Do you feel any other complaints or anything like that right now?"

"No, no. Just a headache, but it's already much better than before."

"Thankfully, it seems that the serum is working well inside your body." The officer took one of the glass bottles from his trolley. "Here, take this medicine for two to three days. It will be able to relieve the pain in your head."

"Okay, thank you." Shaan took the glass bottle and put it in his pocket.. "Uh, there's still something else I want to ask. That tablet you used earlier to examine me, what is it exactly?"

"This tablet is called an Omni-tablet. A special digital tablet made by the Prometheon company to be able to view and monitor the progress of the status of all existing Daemonists," the officer explained. "Alright, Shaan. I will go and check on the condition of the others. If you are feeling much better, I suggest you go to the main kitchen area. There is food available for you. I'm sure you must be very hungry, and that is also one of the side effects of the serum."

"Alright, thank you, Sir...."

"Don't call me, Sir. It sounds too formal, and I'm not as old as you think. My name is Dion Zeroun. Just call me Mr. Zeroun/Mr. Dion. That sounds much nicer to me."

"Alright, Mr. Dion. I understand." Shaan nodded his head. "Once again, thank you for your help."

" It's a pleasure to help you, Shaan."

A few minutes after Mr. Dion left the room, Shaan decided to walk out of his room. A long corridor illuminated with several lights appeared before Shaan's eyes. There was also a fairly large signboard made of thick iron plates that read "Main kitchen area," not far from where he was standing.

"I should go to the main kitchen area, maybe I can find something interesting there."

As Shaan walked down the corridor, he did not see a single child his age walking in this corridor. He could hear the sound of his footsteps and the sound of trolley wheels being pushed by several officers in white uniforms, entering each room door in the corridor area.

'Strange? Where are the others? Is it possible that they are all in the Cafeteria?'

Shaan's curiosity grew until he decided to speed up his pace until he reached the "Main kitchen area". Both of his eyeballs immediately widened, followed by a tense look on his face when he saw the main kitchen area, which was very different from what he had imagined before.
