Chapter 5 - A dream?

Shinji would wake up, he would gasp heavily tears streaming down his cheeks screaming in pain. Rose would open the door "Shinji!! What's wrong!!" He would look different, he didn't have cat ears nor a tail, Shinji would look Rose up and down "Rose...where are your cat ears and tail?..." Rose laughed "were you dreaming again?" He would smile wearing skinny jeans and a hanging angels band tank top "I told you, you need to stop drinking. James is here as well just so you know" he explained getting clothes out for Shinji to wear "w..what about Angel Corps?..." Shinji asked "you really are a dreamer..." Rose laughed softly "dreaming about your book again?" He raised his pierced eyebrow. The room looked different to Shinji, he would look around "W..wait am I in a apartment?" He would think to himself looking out the window, he was inside Shoto City "w..where am I?..." he asked himself, Rose opened the door hands behind his back sweetly "James left" he said smiling, Shinji sighed, he was thinking to himself looking around. Books were all over the ground, the title read Book of Madness and Shinji would look out the window while cars drove by, Shinji would sigh "I've had a bad dream Rose, It felt so real..." tears streamed down his cheeks the image of Rose's lifeless body stuck in Shinjis head "I see...I'm sorry you had to deal with death" he sighed before Shinji's eyes widen and turned to Rose "How did you know...my dream had death?" Rose would sigh as he looked up at Shinji "...oopsies" he would smile wide exposing sharp teeth "I was surprised you kept remembering everytime he killed you..." he would slowly walk towards Shinji pulling out a huge kitchen knife from behind his back, Rose's eyes were dull with no emotion, his cute smile replaced by malice and bloodlust, this wasn't Rose where is his bestfriend? Shinji started to back away "R..Rose you're being controlled by Lucielle, you need to snap out of it!!" Shinji exclaimed "Oh Shinji...no Rose was never here, Rose was gone when he killed himself in that other reality~ he gave up" The creature pretending to be Rose spoke in a montone voice and would drag the kitchen knife against the wall softly, he would shift from Rose into Lucielle "I really was having fun...but she ruined it giving you the power to travel through realities kekeke~" the figure cackled shifting back to Rose, Shinji staring at Rose or whatever this abomination was frozen in place watching it step closer to him with the large knife, a glint of the knife would snap him back to reality, he would push Rose and run out of the apartment, not knowing where he was he ran towards an elevator while the one playing as Rose called out to him "Oh Shinji don't run...let me end your suffering..." he shouted in Rose's adorable voice, Shinji would take the elevator down to the parking lot, once the elevator door opened he ran out his shoes echoing through the entire parking lot until he reached a big stone pillar, there must've been many he hid behind one of them panting heavily, he stopped once he heard soft patting against the cold cement, someone was here, he held his breath it was too quiet only the sound of feet patting against the cement could be heard, Shinji swore he could hear his own heartbeat, if only he had his katana..or his pistols "Damn it why...." he thought to himself but he stopped thinking when he realized something was off, the footsteps were gone it was total silence. Shinji would slowly stand up and look out from behind the pillar, Rose would be looking right at Shinji staring into his soul like a delicious buffet was right infront of him, Rose would start walking towards Shinji, his eyes glowing in the dark he transitioned from walking to running after a few steps, he was faster than a normal human Shinji would back away tripping, Rose raised the knife above his head screaming "DIE!!!" Shinji closed his eyes fearfully but before Rose could plunge the knife into Shinji headlights could be seen in a flash before a loud thump could be heard, Shinji looked towards the car James would shout "GET IN!!" Shinji would quickly stand up and run to the passenger side of James's car, opening the door and hopping in slamming it shut "GO NOW!!" Shinji shouted as the demon slowly got up, his neck cracking loudly, the demon impersonating Rose would spread multiple black wings, James hit the gas speeding away from the creature, He would pull out a gun shooting at the demon out the window, the bullet hit it's head but it slowly regenerated "damn this place...it's not holy" he threw the gun out the window and Shinji would look at James "you know about the multiple dreams?!" He exclaimed shocked and James huffed "It was a hunch everytime I woke up like it was a dream..." he explained "I found a book..a book that shouldn't exist it was your book of Madness it explained it wasn't a dream its multiple timelines, the one this human version of you wrote" he would maneuver throught the traffic but the demon flew straight threw it, many cars and other vehicles exploding while Shinji's eyes widen "so its true these...dreams were never dreams..." he would feel worse knowing what happened with Rose was real, before he could finish his thought, the car would flip over flying off the bridge, everything went dark for a minute, Shinji would then slowly opening his eyes he would be outside of the car as it was on fire, James was dead his body burning inside but Shinji was too weak to say or even do anything. A man with long white hair, harnesses all over his body and a long black masamune would walk over to Shinji sighing "Are you afraid of what's to come?" He asked but Shinji couldn't speak, The man would continue speaking "Do you regret your past?" He asked but Shinji could only look at the man with tears in his eyes, rolling down his cheeks "do you think fate will be on your side when the end comes?" He asked his face close to Shinji's "you really do entertain me..." he said coldly raising the blade and stabbing it into Shinjis chest "talk to General Blane when you wake up...he will tell you everything you need to know.." he said softly in his feminine voice, Shinji's vision went black and it went silent again.
