Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: The Invisible Hand

The night shadows stretched long across the city, towering buildings casting cold, emotionless silhouettes under the dim streetlights. Inside their dim hideout, Jung Kok stood facing a worn-out map pinned to the wall. His finger traced the lines on the map—key locations across the city—places that once symbolized his vision for change. Now, they had become battlefields in a war he never intended to fight.

Across the room, Yong Jin sat with a furrowed brow, analyzing the latest report they had just received. The war between Jung Kok and Jung Joon was escalating—faster than anyone had anticipated. But now Jung Kok could see it—this wasn't just a clash between two brothers. Something deeper, darker was at play.

"Five more of our warehouses are gone," Yong Jin muttered. "This time it's different. There's a pattern."

Jung Kok remained silent, his eyes still fixed on the map. The silence between them was heavy, thick with unspoken tension. Something—or someone—was moving things from behind the curtain, fueling the chaos with hidden intent. But who? And why?

"They're not just attacking our assets. They want to break our spirit," Jung Kok said quietly, his tone filled with frustration. "This is no longer about power. Someone's pulling the strings, making sure we keep tearing each other apart."

Yong Jin looked at him. "You think Joon's behind all this?"

Jung Kok shook his head. "No. These attacks are too precise, too calculated. My brother's ruthless, yes. But he's not a coward who hides in the shadows."

From outside, the distant sound of thunder rolled in, signaling an approaching storm. But inside that room, the storm raging in their minds was far more violent.

"You're right," Yong Jin replied, his voice sharpening. "But that doesn't mean there isn't a third party at work. Whoever it is, they're using you and your brother to bring each other down."

Jung Kok clenched his jaw. It was all starting to make sense. Every time he tried to escape the shadow of their father's legacy, a new obstacle appeared—as if someone was always one step ahead, determined to sabotage him at every turn.

Elsewhere in the same city, Jung Joon paced back and forth in his office. Anger simmered in his chest. His warehouses were being attacked one by one, and with every loss, he felt a part of his control over the city slipping away. But deep down, something didn't feel right. This war was no longer about territory or reputation—it was about control. Control over the city, over the family… and over himself.

Jung Joon's heart pounded. The possibility of a secret player pulling the strings sent a chill through his veins. But he showed no sign of fear. As a leader, he couldn't afford to falter.

He paused, lost in thought. His mind drifted back to their father's time—when enemies were created and betrayal came without mercy. Could all of this be the result of an old grudge finally resurfacing?

Meanwhile, at Jung Kok's base, the pressure kept mounting. His vision of a better world was slipping further from his grasp. The unexpected chaos was swallowing him whole. Every step he took felt heavier than the last.

Yong Jin stepped closer and placed a hand on his shoulder. "You don't have to carry this burden alone," he said softly. "We're with you."

Jung Kok nodded, but his eyes remained vacant. His mind was tangled with unanswered questions. Their father's legacy, which once felt like a burden, now felt like a prison. Every time he tried to resist, he was pulled back in.

Suddenly, a message came through Jung Kok's encrypted device. He read it quickly, and his face tensed. A new attack location had been identified. But this one was different. It wasn't just a storage facility or a control zone—it was a symbol. A place of meaning.

Yong Jin looked at him. "It's happened again, hasn't it?"

Jung Kok clenched his fist. "We have no choice. We move now. But I know… this isn't my brother's doing."

In his heart, he was certain. The next battle wouldn't just be about defending the location—it would be about opening everyone's eyes. And as the storm raged outside, Jung Kok prepared to step onto the battlefield once more. But one question continued to haunt him—who was behind all this? And when would the real face finally be revealed?

The night was far from over.
