Chapter 16 - CHAPTER 16

c16 — The Law of Strength

After celebrating with a massive feast that used up all the prize money from winning the championship, Li Xu and Bulma said their goodbyes to everyone and returned home.

During his fierce battle with Son Goku, Li Xu had noticed some peculiar changes happening to the system's panel.

...Personal Information Panel...

Name: Li Xu

Age: 19

Combat Strength: 251

Law: Law of Strength (0/100)

Possessed Plug-ins:

Primary Automatic Training Plug-in (can automatically increase combat strength by ten points per day)

Primary Perception Plug-in (can learn one-star moves instantly)

Normal Saiyan Bloodline Plug-in

"Why did the 'Law of Strength' suddenly appear?"

Li Xu frowned in confusion.

The system did not provide an explicit answer, but Li Xu speculated that it might be connected to the intense energy clash with Son Goku earlier, especially after exchanging powerful Kamehameha waves.

In the manga, Son Goku often showed sudden comprehension of strength during battle, such as when he learned the Kamehameha instantly just by seeing Master Roshi perform it once. Perhaps Li Xu's experience triggered a similar awakening.

"System, what's the deal with the daily increase from the primary automatic training plug-in?"

Li Xu asked.

Originally, the plug-in only increased his combat strength by one point per day, but now it had skyrocketed to ten points.

"The host has acquired the Normal Saiyan Bloodline. Saiyan physiology inherently enhances natural growth potential, especially through training. Therefore, the automatic training plug-in's effect has been amplified."

The system answered coldly.

"So even plug-ins can influence each other!"

Li Xu was slightly surprised, but it was definitely good news. His growth rate had now increased tenfold!

"Can the Law of Strength be cultivated automatically too?"

Li Xu asked after thinking for a moment.

"The automatic training plug-in function can be freely adjusted by the host."

The system responded.

"Meaning, I can choose to let both my combat strength and the Law of Strength grow simultaneously, but the overall growth rate will be divided between the two?"

Li Xu said, seeking confirmation.

"The host understands correctly."

Li Xu scratched his head, feeling conflicted.

If he ignored the Law of Strength, his combat strength would skyrocket. But deep down, he sensed that the Law of Strength would eventually be even more important than raw numbers in battle.

"System, split the plug-in effects equally between combat strength and the Law of Strength."

After pondering, Li Xu made his decision.

He didn't want to become someone who only chased after meaningless high numbers.

Baozi Mountain

"Where is it exactly?"

Holding Bulma in his arms, Li Xu flew high above Baozi Mountain, scanning the rugged terrain carefully.

"Li Xu, are you sure there's really a spaceship here?"

Bulma asked, frowning slightly after they had circled around several times without results.

"There has to be,"

Li Xu answered confidently.

"Otherwise, how did Son Goku come to Earth in the first place?"

According to the original manga, Goku had arrived on Earth as a baby inside a Saiyan pod after Planet Vegeta's destruction. His spaceship had crash-landed somewhere around here.

"Found it!"

Suddenly, Li Xu's sharp eyes spotted something metallic hidden in a secluded valley. He immediately dove down.

There, half-buried under thick layers of vines and moss, lay a spherical space pod. Its surface was battered and weathered, but its iconic shape—the Saiyan landing pod—was still recognizable.

"It's even shabbier than I imagined..."

Bulma muttered, wrinkling her nose at the sight.

"Can you fix it?"

Li Xu asked, hopeful.

Bulma crouched next to the pod, examining its structure carefully.

"Luckily, the main systems don't seem completely destroyed. It'll need heavy repairs and refitting, but it's doable,"

she said, brushing moss off a cracked panel.

"Time isn't an issue. Once you finish the modifications, we can go explore the universe!"

Li Xu said with a laugh.

"Hmm, leave it to me."

Bulma smiled proudly.

"Also, remember what I asked before—install a gravity training room inside. The higher the gravity multiplier that can be adjusted, the better!"

Li Xu added quickly.

"No problem. With enough resources, building a three-hundred-times gravity chamber should be possible. But... with that much gravity, are you sure it's safe?"

Bulma asked, looking a bit worried.

"It'll be fine. I won't crank it up all at once."

Li Xu reassured her with a chuckle.

In the Dragon Ball manga, Son Goku's use of gravity chambers had been a major breakthrough. During his trip to Namek, he had trained under 100x Earth's gravity, rapidly pushing his power beyond previous limits. For Li Xu, this would be an essential trump card for future battles.

"Alright. Once we secure transportation, I'll have the ship moved back to Capsule Corporation."

Bulma said, taking out a capsule and making some preliminary measurements.

"Okay."

Li Xu nodded.

...

"Is this Korin Tower?"

Li Xu looked up at the towering Korin Tower, its top hidden among the clouds, and couldn't help feeling a little shocked.

Such a massive structure was definitely not something that could have been built by ordinary human hands.

Since defeating Son Goku during the recent World Martial Arts Tournament, Li Xu found it difficult to encounter opponents who could challenge him on Earth.

Thus, he decided it was time to venture into the Universe. He had already asked Bulma to refit the Saiyan spaceship they had discovered earlier for interstellar travel.

However, just as he was preparing to leave, the system suddenly issued a new mission that had to be completed first.

Mission: Arrive at King Kai's Planet.

Mission Reward: Intermediate Perception Plug-in.

Intermediate Perception Plug-in: Allows the host to instantly learn two-star level techniques.

Currently, there were only two known methods for reaching King Kai's Planet.

One was to gather all seven Dragon Balls, summon Shenron, and request a direct teleportation to the afterlife realm.

The second method was to seek out the Earth's Guardian, Kami, and have him assist in ascending to the Other World.

Since the Dragon Balls needed several more months to reactivate after the last wish (following Pilaf's wish in the manga), Li Xu was unwilling to waste time and chose the second option—seeking training under Kami.

Additionally, he had another goal: to obtain Senzu Beans from Korin.

Senzu Beans were another major cheat item in the Dragon Ball world.

In battle or training, they could completely heal injuries and restore stamina instantly, which made them invaluable for a warrior like Li Xu.

"Who are you?"

Just as Li Xu was preparing to climb Korin Tower, two figures appeared: a young man and a small boy.

Li Xu immediately recognized them—Bora, the powerful protector of Korin Tower, and his son, Upa.

"My name is Li Xu. I've come to challenge Korin Tower,"

Li Xu said with a friendly smile.

"Korin Tower isn't something that just anyone can climb. You must first defeat me if you want to try,"

Bora said firmly, stepping forward.

Hearing this, Li Xu smiled faintly.

He knew Bora meant well without sufficient strength, a person could easily fall during the climb and either die or suffer severe injury.

However, Li Xu didn't bother to fight Bora.

Instead, he simply leapt toward the tower, beginning his ascent at an astonishing speed.

Bora watched in shock as Li Xu's figure blurred and vanished upward, moving faster than his eyes could follow.

A bead of cold sweat rolled down his forehead.

"What a monster... He might actually be able to climb Korin Tower..."

At the very top of the tower, Korin, the wise cat-like martial arts master, was already observing Li Xu's ascent.

"When did such a freak appear in the lower world?"

Korin thought to himself, wide-eyed with amazement.

"This speed... It's far beyond even Son Goku's first attempt..."

He felt a rare shiver of nervousness; cold sweat broke out on his furry face.

Before Korin could fully collect himself, a strong gust of wind blew through the upper tower.

In the blink of an eye, Li Xu's figure appeared before him, standing firmly on the sacred platform.

"Hi, hello!"

Li Xu greeted him casually, flashing a bright smile.

"Hello..."

Korin responded with a wry smile.

"Have you come to challenge me for the Sacred Water? With your current strength, it would be meaningless. The Sacred Water wouldn't make a difference to you."

"I already know the so-called 'Sacred Water' is just regular water,"

Li Xu said, shaking his head.

"I came here to train."

Korin's expression softened.

"In truth, I doubt I can teach someone like you much of anything..."

he said honestly.
