"Overlord, do you really want to do this?"
A cold, enraged voice echoed through the darkness of the void.
The voice belong to a golden armoured human with divine presence.
All around him lay nothing but collapsed celestial bodies and drifting stardust.
"YES! I am left with no other choice. It's the only way to save everyone," came a rumbling voice from beyond the void, like a god speaking to a mortal.
The vision of the Overlord's being was so overwhelmingly vast that the tiny human could only see its eyes, like two massive quasars.
"By 'save everyone,' you mean save them?
But that's impossible!
So what do you hope to achieve by doing this?
We both know everything is over.
They are eternally erased from the Akashic Record.
They can't be brought back.
And if you forcefully try to bring them back, you will just cause the rest of Creation to collapse completely."
"NO, it will not.
I will sacrifice my entire existence to reverse the Wheel of Time.
My soul will travel into the past through the Wheel of Time, and Creation will be restored to the state before the Collapse.
Naturally, everything in Creation will be fixed.
In this way, you all will be saved, and my goal will be achieved as well,"
The Overlord replied, but this time a little lower but firm.
"No way. You're going to kill yourself and go back in time?
But the Wheel of Time would also erase your memories. So what's the point?"
The being sighed, a helpless sigh.
"Yes, I may die. But my emotions will not.
More importantly, I will be able to see them again.
Without 'them', what's the point of existence?
For whom shall I live? I can't live alone in loneliness."
"But... you're leaving me alone?
Does our friendship mean nothing to you?," the golden-armored human asked, slightly disappointed.
In return, the being let out a light chuckle. A chuckle that could crush stars and moons like nothing.
"You will always be my friend, Gilgamesh.
Besides, I will get to meet your past self again. Isn't that exciting?"
"No. You're just being selfish."
In reply, the Overlord sighed.
"Anyway, you should find your own path, Gilgamesh.
I suppose this is goodbye, my friend."
"Hey, wait... You—"
