Increasingly nervous, Bly called Sonoma out and together you discovered that the Packleader was conducting a gruesome experiment on the HSM troops. She, General Rivera, and their own group of scientists had been developing an experimental drug they believed could change humans into werewolves. There had been no proper testing of the substance, but what better time than now?
Bly flew into a rage, protesting the poisoning of the humans.
Sonoma shook her head. "No. It's not a poison. It's a gift! I'll turn each and every one of these HSM bigots into werewolves. The mutation isn't as stable as I'd like, but with testing on this large a scale, we should be able to perfect it."
Bly's fingers curled, claws digging into her palms until blood dripped from her fists. "This sounds an awful lot like the kind of experiments Williams forced on us in Haven," she said.
"Williams acted out of hatred," Sonoma replied. "He hated who he was, and his people hated all of us. They still do! I'm doing this for justice! What worse fate could I inflict on these bigoted zealots than to turn them into what they most despise?"
"I'm not letting you do it," Bly said.
Sonoma growled. "That's what General Rivera said too. You've all become too complacent—you've forgotten that we're at war! After all the work Rivera contributed to this project, she chooses to side with the genocidal human supremacists!"
I allowed Sonoma to carry out her experiment despite Bly's protests.
I snatched the container from Sonoma and escaped with it.
I stepped back and allowed Bly to fight Sonoma for the container. The Packleader was so surprised that Bly succeeded.
