Chapter 14: Emergency Meeting – The Net Tightens Around Viren

Inside a heavily guarded military command center,

the room was filled with stern-faced, high-ranking officers seated around a long steel table.

The cold air from the air-conditioning units couldn't cool the tension crackling inside the room —

especially not for Officer Viren, whose heart was thundering in his chest.

Then—

BANG!

The doors flung open, almost with the force of a storm.

Commander Abdul strode into the room like a thundercloud — sharp eyes, powerful presence,

his boots striking heavy against the floor.

The officers immediately straightened in their seats.

Silence fell over the room.

Abdul didn't waste time.

> "Gentlemen," he barked, "the nation stands on the edge of war. Every movement, every whisper across the borders matters now. I need reports — has there been any suspicious enemy activity?"

One by one, the officers responded:

"No, Sir."

"No unusual movements, Sir."

"Borderlines secure, Sir."

Abdul's gaze was sharp, hawk-like, scanning each man.

Then... he turned his head slowly...

and fixed his stare on Officer Viren.

The room seemed to freeze.

> "And you, Officer Viren," Abdul said slowly, voice like ice, "you're the in-charge for Black Site island operations. Any unusual activity? Any transmissions? Any... concerns?"

For a split second, Viren's entire body stiffened.

A bead of sweat trickled down his temple —

despite the freezing air inside the room.

He forced a tight smile and saluted.

> "No unusual activity, Sir. Black Site remains silent... as expected."

Abdul stared at him a moment longer, his eyes drilling into Viren's soul.

Something inside Abdul remained unsettled...

a sixth sense, warning him that something didn't fit.

But Abdul didn't reveal his doubts openly.

Instead, he clapped his hands together sharply.

> "New wartime protocol effective immediately," he announced.

"Due to the escalating threat, jammers will be deployed across all sectors.

Personal communications will be blocked permanently.

Any messages will pass only through the central Control Room — under my direct supervision.

All transmissions will be fully transparent to high command."

The room murmured in shock — but none dared question it.

Viren's world shattered inside.

> "NO..." he screamed inwardly.

"If the jammers go live, I can't send the warning! I'll be completely trapped...!"

On the outside, he kept his face blank, nodding like the others.

But inside, fear twisted him like a knife.

He would have to find another way — soon —

or everything he had risked, everything he had done, would come crashing down.

And somewhere in his gut,

he knew Commander Abdul was already starting to smell the betrayal... even if he couldn't prove it — yet.
