Chapter 41 - Chapter 41: Ka-Boom! Art is an Explosion!

The Hateful Mummies' withered legs were only as thin as water pipes, yet their strength was terrifyingly immense. They stomped hard on the ground, and the fierce impact caused the floor to erupt with a sound like a landmine explosion! A large swath of marble tiles disintegrated into powder, long spiderweb cracks spreading outwards!

"Swish swish swish!"

The Female Parasitic Vine panicked, hurriedly whipping out thirty demonic vines. Each was as thick as the mouth of a bowl, their bark dark black and full, clearly the strongest vines. They produced piercing sounds as they sliced through the air!

The Hateful Mummies' movements weren't fast, and they were instantly entangled by the demonic vines. Each mummy had its limbs and head bound by five vines!

The Female Parasitic Vine's pale eyeball twitched!

It seemed to be rejoicing!

Those mummies looked impressive, but unexpectedly, they were all show and no substance, caught so easily.

Prey caught by the Female Parasitic Vine had never escaped before!

It only needed to exert force, and it could tear all the mummies into pieces like drawing and quartering!

Know that its strongest demonic vines each possessed the strength of a 500 kg! Let alone mere mummies, even the mammoths of Earth could be torn apart!

But its hope quickly turned to disappointment.

Because it discovered it couldn't budge the Hateful Mummies' bodies at all! They were like blocks of steel, unbelievably hard. No matter how much force the Female Parasitic Vine exerted, it couldn't inflict even the slightest bit of pain on the Hateful Mummies!

How is this possible?

The Female Parasitic Vine's pale eyeball pupils contracted, clearly astonished at why these strange "dried corpses" possessed such terrifying defensive power. The undead creatures it had encountered in the Abyss, whether skeletons, blood corpses, or hungry ghosts, had never possessed such skin of copper and bones of iron!

"Screeech—"

The six Hateful Mummies, their tongues removed, emitted an extremely unpleasant, long screech from their mouths, as grating as scraping glass. They opened their rotten, pulpy mouths wide, revealing glimpses of their filthy black fangs and mouths full of corpse worms!

Exerting their full strength, the Hateful Mummies' limbs suddenly pulled! They actually forcefully stretched the demonic vines wrapped around them until they creaked, threatening to snap under the strain at any moment!

The Female Parasitic Vine was stunned and horrified; it hadn't expected the Hateful Mummies to possess such terrifying strength!

Before the Female Parasitic Vine could react, the Hateful Mummies erupted with an extremely terrifying wave of corpse qi, blasting away all the demonic vines on their bodies like an explosion!

The Hateful Mummies regained their freedom!

"Well done. Go tear down those annoying vines one by one."

Li Jiayu was very satisfied with the Hateful Mummies' strength. A savage grin appeared as he issued the command.

The six Hateful Mummies simultaneously walked towards the Female Parasitic Vine. Their speed was slow, but their momentum was extremely imposing. Each step they took made the ground groan painfully. The rainwater accumulated on the marble was splashed over a meter high, drenching their corpse bandages, instantly staining them a filthy, turbid yellow corpse-blood color!

Defiantly, the Female Parasitic Vine whipped out dozens more demonic vines, but they couldn't suppress the Hateful Mummies at all. With a single grasp of their sharp claws, they caught a vine and savagely, brutally tore it apart. Or they simply sprayed out large mouthfuls of corpse qi from their mouths, corroding the vines and causing them to disintegrate.

This can't continue!

The Female Parasitic Vine knew that thirty or forty demonic vines couldn't suppress six Hateful Mummies. Resolutely hardening its heart, it tossed both Xiao Wanqing and Ran Hongxia into the dance hall and withdrew all the demonic vines controlling the female students inside. A total of one hundred and thirty-eight vines, large and small, long and short! Although the quality of the vines varied, their sheer number was overwhelmingly terrifying!

"Swish swish swish!"

Countless demonic vines coiled and twisted in mid-air like frantically swaying black serpents!

Not only the entire dance hall but seemingly half the gymnasium was covered by the demonic vines. It was an indescribably eerie and frightening sight. The glass doors, trash cans, decorative lights, and balloons were all destroyed by the overwhelming tide of vines. Even the sound system, computers, large screen, treadmills, numerous musical instruments, and fitness equipment were wantonly ravaged by the vines!

Undoubtedly, so many demonic vines exerted immense pressure on Li Jiayu. But he just sneered coldly and once again began chanting a summoning incantation:

"Delicious food tempts your greedy worms, abundant vegetarian dishes will fill your never-satisfied large bellies. Don't you think the Female Parasitic Vine would be an unprecedented feast... Come forth, Greedy Ghouls!"

In less than three seconds, over a dozen lonely yellow earth graves surged up in front of Li Jiayu!

"Gurgle gurgle"

Red liquid suddenly spurted from cracks in the ground, carrying a thick, bloody smell—it was actually fresh blood!

The blood mixed with rainwater, winding like rivers, yet influenced by the chilling corpse qi of the lonely graves, it evaporated into a hazy red mist. The entire scene resembled a nightmare!

"Roar—"

A pale black, rotten hand suddenly broke through the top of a grave mound, carrying a thick stench of decay and corpse qi, incredibly frightening!

Following that was a withered, rotten, scarred arm, then a horrifying head as large as a barrel emerged, topped with a few strands of pale white hair, decaying eyes rolled back showing the whites, a nose rotten and sunken... That disgusting image was dozens of times scarier than the fierce ghosts in horror movies. The boys watching through telescopes on the thirteenth floor were all terrified, their hearts chilled, unable to breathe, almost screaming out loud!

"What kind of evil ghost is that? So scary! I've got goosebumps all over!"

"I don't know... Heavens, they look even scarier than the mummies! How did they appear in our school?"

"Li Jiayu summoned them!"

"Who on earth is Li Jiayu? Is he a prophet? A seer? A swordsman? A summoner? Or maybe just some underworld guardian? Otherwise, how could he deal with those evil ghosts..."

"This completely overturns our scientific views! The insects being so big could at least be vaguely explained by genetic mutation, environment, or something. But how do you explain those mummies and evil ghosts? Not only are dead bodies resurrected, but they also possess terrifying destructive power, even supernatural abilities inexplicable by science..."

"No point dwelling on it. The era we're in now has probably long deviated from the scientific age. Persisting in trying to explain unknown creatures from a scientific perspective is just splitting hairs!"

Regardless of the shock among the students and professors on the thirteenth floor, the Ghouls from the dozen or so lonely graves still crawled out. They stood dripping wet, their bodies still caked with yellow earth from the graves. Most held rotting meat scraps and white bones in their claws, their eyes rolling back, letting out low, guttural growls.

High-Tier 1, Greedy Ghouls!

In life, they had all suffered from extreme hunger, possessing a firm and undying pursuit of food. Even after starving to death, their hunger never vanished. Transformed into Ghouls, they constantly sought fresh flesh and blood to fill their enormous bellies. Even if it meant being smashed to pieces, they had to taste delicious food!

They were the most persistent devourers!

The moment a demonic vine approached them, they would go berserk, waving their clumsy hands to grab the vine, then opening their blood-basin mouths, a foot wide, biting fiercely onto the vine, taking huge mouthfuls, chewing the bark and vine flesh, sucking the sap!

They feared no pain, feared no death. Even if other vines entangled their limbs and tore them apart, they would never let go. Of course, if pushed too far, they would spray "corpse qi cannonballs" from their mouths – a flesh-and-blood corpse poison brewed in their huge bellies for decades, possessing considerable power, capable of instantly melting a large patch of demonic vines!

If a Greedy Ghoul was drawn and quartered by demonic vines, or its large belly was crushed, the Greedy Ghoul would still face death with heroic martyrdom. Centered on its belly filled with corpses, it would trigger a terrifying self-destruction, instantly blasting apart four or five demonic vines and infecting them with corpse poison!

"Not enough... still not enough. If this continues, at best it's a stalemate with the Female Parasitic Vine... My burst time is running out. If this drags on, the battle might not even end before I burn my soul to death..."

Li Jiayu watched coldly from behind. Even as the Mummies and Ghouls sacrificed themselves spectacularly, he remained completely unmoved, merely flickering his gaze, seemingly contemplating something.

"There are simply too many demonic vines... Attacking the vines endlessly is useless. I must find a way to attack the Female Parasitic Vine's main body, that giant eyeball! Only that is its weak point!"

Having made up his mind, Li Jiayu began summoning once more. However, this time he clearly felt his mental power was somewhat insufficient; a sense of fatigue emanated from deep within his mind. How could this be? Is my mental power being used up so quickly?

But he gritted his teeth, took out three Red-Crested Beetle Insect Crystals from his pocket, used them as offerings to reduce the consumption of his own mental power, and chanted segment by segment of the next incantation with all his might:

"The momentary splendor hidden within art, the high danger lurking within disguise, don't you wish to come out and prove your artistic value... Come forth, Clay Bombs!"

White smoke billowed, and a series of white clay objects appeared beside Li Jiayu. They were animal art pieces made of clay – centipedes, spiders, white doves, a diverse range, each crafted lifelike!

Clay Bombs!

Masterpieces from the Naruto dimension, by a certain genius artist!

These clay art pieces were all imbued with life. Their sole purpose in existence was to explode, demonstrating to the enemy how wonderfully moving the art of explosion is!

"Go! Let the beautiful Lady Female Parasitic Vine witness your cuteness. I believe she will like you."

Li Jiayu waved his hand grandly. The numerous clay animals suddenly sprang into motion, some scurrying across the rainwater, others spreading their wings and flying through the air. Although they lacked imposing momentum, their small bodies concealed terrifying danger and killing intent!
