Chapter 46 - Chapter 46 Ogre Under The Bridge

Information quietly appeared on the Properties Panel.

Minori realized that his earlier shout had frightened the hidden enemy.

Crash——

Crash——

A flock of birds burst out from the jungle canopy, taking flight in chaotic patterns.

Minori narrowed his eyes, staring ahead.

The jungle returned to a deep, unnatural silence. No movement. No visible signs of life.

After prolonged exploration and careful observation,Minori had deduced a basic rule:

For information to appear on the Properties Panel, the target must be within his visual range.

If they were out of sight, or completely hidden, the panel would reveal nothing.

The enemy could mask their presence—but they could not deceive the supernatural abilities Minori carried as a "Player."

First-tier magic: [Camouflage]?

A glint of sharp calculation flashed through Minori's eyes.

He knew this magic well.It allowed the caster to blend perfectly into their surroundings, much like a chameleon.

More importantly,[Camouflage] was a faith-type spell, available only to specific caster classes.

According to his previous speculation, the enemy's likely classes could only be:

Forest Priest (support-type faith caster)

Druid (tracking and survival specialist who could also use faith magic)

There were mid-tier and high-tier classes like Forest Mage that could cast similar spells, but Minori judged that the goblin's level would not be high enough for those.

Druid?

A class proficient in tracking, magic, and survival skills.

Even though in this world the concepts of "basic," "intermediate," and "advanced" classes existed, their actual strength varied greatly within each tier.

Take Paladins, for example—Although classified as warriors, they could also cast faith-based protection spells, yet their casting ability was not counted toward magic caster levels.

It was the same for Druids.

However—there was another possibility:

The goblin could possess dual classes.

Perhaps a Forest Priest paired with a ranger-type secondary class.

Minori's mind moved swiftly through the possibilities, analyzing and discarding options within seconds.

Now—

With the general area located, the next step was simple:

Force the enemy out.

While [Camouflage] was excellent for hiding in forest terrain, its weakness was equally clear:movement restrictions.

The user had to remain almost completely still.

Rustle——

Rustle——

Just as Minori prepared to charge through the narrow jungle path, there was a sudden commotion from both flanks, high among the trees.

The next instant—

Boom!

Two towering ogres thundered out from the forest, blocking the entrance of the narrow trail.

Minori halted, momentarily surprised—then sneered coldly.

"Well-prepared indeed."

These two ogres were not ordinary guards.

They were clearly stationed here to block retreat.

Given the terrain—a narrow, uneven jungle trail—even killing them would delay Minori long enough for other enemies to swarm him.

If he wasted time here, he would be truly trapped.

Bang!

Minori stamped down hard, exploding forward like a released arrow.

"Quick Slash!"

With a low, curt shout,he targeted the ogre on the left.

The iron sword in his right hand flashed horizontally!

Phew!

A sharp arc of blood sprayed into the air.

The left ogre, caught completely off guard, was cleaved clean in half.

Green blood drenched Minori's black robe.

Without pausing—he twisted his body sharply.

Second target.

Minori lunged at the right ogre.

Another Quick Slash!

But—

Without the boost of active skills, the second sword strike was slower, weaker.

The right ogre had managed to react—lifting a massive wooden club to block instinctively.

Crack——

The iron sword buried itself two-thirds deep into the club, splintering it.

The impact forced the ogre back a step.

Despite the racial bonuses of subhumans,Minori's physical strength—enhanced by his fully maximized Swordmaster class—was superior.

Still—

The sword was too weak.

Minori's gaze hardened.

Had he wielded a magic weapon, or even high-grade steel, this crude ogre weapon would have shattered entirely.

The ogre blinked in confusion.

How had its companion been slain instantly—yet it survived?

Still, its primitive mind quickly abandoned thought.

It bellowed in rage, raising a giant fist to smash Minori.

The punch came fast, with a fierce rush of wind.

Minori twisted smoothly, sidestepping.

Mocking disdain laced his voice:

"Had you been human, you'd have fled after seeing your ally fall."

Minori's left hand shot out.

An iron sword materialized in his palm from his inventory.Without hesitation, he thrust forward—

Straight into the ogre's heart.

Aaah——!

The ogre's howl echoed through the forest.

Puff!

Minori withdrew the blade with a savage twist.

He left the ogre to collapse and die on its own.

Without looking back, he strode deeper into the jungle.

Only a few steps later—

the Properties Panel updated:

Experience Gained: 310

Experience Gained: 285

Current EXP: 3215/5000

The two ogres' death throes were short.Even with their formidable vitality, one had been bisected, the other's heart punctured.

Neither could survive long.

At that same moment—

"ROAR!!""WAAAGH!!""KREEEEE!!"

A cacophony of roars and war cries erupted from deeper within the jungle.

Minori turned his head slightly.

Through the dense foliage, he spotted—

Five more ogres charging toward him.

Clearly—

The goblin's reinforcements had been waiting to ambush him once he entered deeper.

But seeing him retreat instead of advance, they lost patience and revealed themselves.

Unfortunately for them—

The narrow jungle path only allowed one or two ogres through at a time.

Now—

they were jammed together, roaring uselessly.

Minori clicked his tongue softly.

"Pathetic."

He turned forward again.

Whoosh!Whoosh!

Minori swung his two iron swords in rapid, devastating arcs.

Slashing at grass, bushes, tree branches—

A brutal, indiscriminate destruction of everything nearby.

He didn't need to find the hidden goblin directly.

As long as the goblin was within his field of vision, destruction would expose it.

Meanwhile—

behind the thick underbrush,a trembling figure crouched.

A goblin, its skin magically altered to mimic the jungle, hid near a large tree barely ten meters from Minori.

It was utterly invisible to the naked eye.

But—

its mind was collapsing.

I'm dead.I'm dead.I'm definitely going to die!

Terror flooded the goblin's soul. Its body shook uncontrollably.

The magic of [Camouflage] couldn't hide its mounting despair.
