POV: You
Location: Frozen Genesis Field – Fragment of Time
The world didn't stop—
But it slowed.
As Zeyren's body twisted into something inhuman, something cosmic, the very air froze. A side effect of the Genesis Rift cracking fully open—time faltered.
For a second.
Maybe a minute.
It was hard to tell.
You stood surrounded by broken light and floating fragments of the battlefield. The others moved slowly, flickering like echoes—frozen mid-motion.
Except for Lia.
And Ada.
Leon.
Kairo.
The five of you stood inside a thin, flickering pocket of real time, your bodies bruised and drained, but awake.
No one said anything at first.
Then Kairo broke the silence. "...We're probably going to die."
Lia gave a tired smile. "We've said that before."
Ada looked to you. "What do you think?"
You let out a breath.
"I think... it was never about winning."
Leon raised a brow. "Could've told me that before I took three grenades to the ribs."
A small laugh escaped everyone. Even Lia. Even Kairo.
Even you.
Because despite the Rift, despite Zeyren's new form looming above like a dark god—
You weren't afraid anymore.
Just ready.
Lia stepped forward and placed a hand on your shoulder.
"I'm glad I had you as a father," she whispered. "Whatever happens next... you were the one thing that kept me human."
Ada stood beside her and met your eyes. "You still have a promise to keep."
Leon loaded his last clip and nodded. "Let's give that monster hell."
The light began to move again.
Time resumed.
The wind screamed.
And Zeyren, now something far beyond form or comprehension, descended like a comet of black and violet fire.
The final fight had come.
And you weren't alone.
