Chapter 7 - Bounty Hunter

His physique increased by 3 points.

That's more than double!

Blaine was pleasantly surprised.

Of course, this didn't mean his overall strength had only doubled.

You have to understand, his current Absolute Hit skill still relied on his own strength—the stronger he was, the stronger the skill became.

That's just how it worked.

Accuracy was one thing.

But without speed and power, it couldn't kill anyone. Even an ordinary person with a bit of strength—someone like Captain America—could probably just catch his arrow with ease.

But now, things were different. Blaine's physical attributes had increased—five times stronger than an average person. Though still a bit behind Cap, with sheer strength alone (not counting combat skills or the Absolute Hit ability), he could already put up a fight.

Not to mention he also had the Bounty Hunter Set, right?

Blaine took out the [Hunter Set] gear.

Just like the description said.

Coat, pants, shoes, hat, gloves—five pieces in total.

The main color was black—a trench coat.

Stylish and sleek in appearance.

Just looking at it gave off a mysterious vibe.

Wait—why was the hat actually a hood?

A few black lines appeared on Blaine's forehead. System, seriously? You're selling the hood separately from the coat now?

What kind of divine scam artist are you?

But in all fairness, the outfit was cool—it truly lived up to the name "Bounty Hunter."

The moment Blaine saw it, he couldn't help but fall in love.

Oh~ this color~

Oh~ this fabric~

Nice~~~!!

After indulging in his excitement, Blaine put on the outfit.

And he had to admit—the gear's boost was powerful.

The moment he put it on, his entire aura changed. From a sunny, youthful guy to a brooding Bounty Hunter.

Not only that—

Blaine could feel it.

His strength, speed, even dynamic vision had all received a massive boost!

And the clothes seemed to be bulletproof too.

There were no guns in the house.

So Blaine grabbed a knife instead. First he gave it a few test slices, then went all in—he swung it hard at his chest.

His physique was already five times that of a normal person, and with the strength boost from the Hunter gear, "swinging hard" meant serious power.

Easily enough to smash someone's skull.

Not much weaker than a bullet.

And yet—

That kind of attack didn't even leave a scratch on the outfit.

The knife just broke in half.

Blaine himself didn't feel any pain. It just felt like the spot got a light massage.

This wasn't the Hunter suit reaching its limit—it was designed that way. Otherwise, if someone attacked him while he was wearing it, and he didn't even notice, that'd be a problem.

These were very obvious and tangible bonuses.

If he was previously weaker than Captain America—

Now, Blaine could probably dominate in a fight. Especially with that ridiculous defense—Cap might struggle to even make a dent.

This boost was no joke.

Sure, in the Marvel universe it might not be a big deal, but at this stage of his journey, it was a terrifying piece of gear.

Blaine was very glad he bought it.

Forget spending only 5,000—even the full price of 120,000 would've been worth it.

He tested everything—except for the suit's "magic resistance" part. He wasn't sure how to test that. After thinking about it for a long time, he still couldn't find a way. He couldn't exactly go to Kamar-Taj and ask the Ancient One to beat him up, could he?

He took off the Hunter set and stored it in the system shop's inventory.

Then Blaine pulled out the third item he bought tonight.

It looked like a regular admission ticket.

But the moment he held it, he could sense it was extraordinary.

Just by holding it—

A mental map appeared in his head with red dots centered around his location.

Each red dot represented a well-known underground trading venue.

The darker the red, the bigger and more dangerous the place.

Trash-tier ones wouldn't even register on the map.

There were three red dots in New York City.

Blaine clicked his tongue in amazement.

He couldn't understand why something this good only cost 50?

[Host, only you would think this is a good deal. Anyone with real connections wouldn't waste 50 on this.]

The system crushed his excitement without hesitation.

Blaine's face froze. Sure, what the system said was true—but couldn't it let him have this one??

He spent the whole night obsessing over the Bounty Hunter Set and the Underground Market Pass.

Only then did Blaine finally drift off to sleep.

No one knew—

That tonight,

A Bounty Hunter had just taken his first step.
