Irene worked as a waitress in a club called "vibez". That place was constantly hot. It was like the hottest club in town and there was nothing that wasn't there. Prostitutes,strippers, lesbians ,homosexuals and all that. She had only night shifts but it didn't bother her or even Kevin because she could defend herself. They paid heavily so she had no choice. She usually went to work around 7:00 in the evening and came back 7:00 in the early morning. It was an all night club.
"Hey, hey you there. Get us some drinks will you"
"Yeah and be fast about it. A group of boys teased her. They sat at a table by the corner making a hell of noise. They were regular customers to that club and were very feared too because of the havoc they usually caused . They always smoked and drank till they were high. High enough to do anything they wanted. Irene had heard about them from her coworkers but she didn't give a fuck. She knew that if they try to get to her nerves that she will take them down alone. They once trashed a girl like Irene who was rude to them. She definitely didn't survive it. They also robbed a lot of people who visited that club but there was nothing anyone could do about it. All these had happened before she began working there.
She brought the drinks to them and place it on the table in front of them.
"It's about time you did" One foolishly tried to grab her ass but she quickly held his hand crushing tight
"Don't try that" She threw his hands and walked out
"Wow she's strong" The boy commented trying to feel his wrist again. The next time she came back was to ask for the bill.
"You fools have to pay for all that she said rudely"
"Do you know who you're talking to?"
"Yeah the most stupid guys in this place. Now pay your bill" The leader of the gang stood up. He was a bit taller than her and much more muscular. He had a threatening voice but Irene just looked at him from head to toe.
"Watch your mouth young girl. You can go and ask what we did to your mates before you came.
"That's not what I asked for. Spear me that trash and pay the bill. You all just look like a bunch of drunk weaklings and because you haven't met your match you think that you can parade around treating everybody anyhow you want. Well that's not for me I'm not afraid of you guys so just pay the bill and save me the time I'm wasting here talking to motherfuckers." The leader smirked and said
"I like you girl you've got guts" He signaled one of the boys to bring out the money and they paid her. She left without uttering a single word
The night shift was over and she was to go back home that morning. It was still very early and she worked along a bushy and lonely path. She suddenly heard footsteps behind her and turned only to find out that it was the boys. She just hissed, rolled her eyes and made to continue but she bumped into their leader
"Remember me?"
"What do you want this time?" He chuckled a bit.
"I'm so gonna do with you." Irene looked around. They were all pounding their fists. She smiled and said
"I want to make this easy for you guys. Just make way and let me be and nothing bad will have to happen."
"You are really confident but you're outnumbered seven to one"
"I don't have time for this." She said already annoyed and try to walk out. Someone dragged her from behind and she got hold of that hand and threw him to the side. They began to attack but she was able to beat them all to stupor including the so called leader. She grabbed a stick from the bush and messed them up. When she felt like she was okay she decided to leave them. She was seriously sweating and breathing heavily and she had to go home like that. She walked into the house angrily and banged the door. Kevin was on the couch with his phone.
"Hey Irene how was work?" She didn't answer instead she stumped to her room
"Okay bad I guess.' He said to himself and went back to his phone. He was chatting with his girlfriend. Irenewas very tired and sweaty. The first thing she had to do was to take her bath. She felt refreshed and that was when she actually calmed down. She was very famished and needed to eat. She went into the kitchen and met Kevin.
"Is there anything to eat?"
"Oh so now you want me to answer you but you didn't answer me."
"Me? When?"
"When you came in?
"I can't remember seriously"
"Well there's no food but it's good that you are back let's Cook." Irene was a bit reluctant. She was really drained but she had to do it anyways. They made mac and cheese as breakfast and ate. Immediately after eating Irene started playing the game. She was very absorbed in it. She was actually playing with spice online. That girl was bringing the kind of vibes Irene wanted. Kevin was surprised because she wasn't the kind of person that spent a lot of time on her phone.
"Irene"Kevin called out first
"Irene" He called out again and still no response. then he tried to snatch the phone
"Don't try it" She moved the phone and continued
"So you heard me. What are you playing?"
"A game"
"Of course I know it's a game. Which game?"
"Kevin you are disturbing me. It's city games."
"Oh I've heard of that. Is it that good?"
"It's the best big bro"
"Wow anyways I'm going out"
"To gamble?"
"No"
"Then what?" She asked with her eyes still fixed on her phone.
"Nothing it's not your business." He said and left. Irene just chuckled and rested on the couch, continuing her game.
