Three years later....
Three years. It's actually been three years.I still couldn't believe Matt and Patty ,my foster parents, had never come to see me.They were my parents for the most part of my life for crying out loud.
Anyway, now that I was done with high school I could finally leave this hot town..
These three years were the longest and I have to say loneliest years of my life.
Since neither G city nor Oakland wanted me,I'll have to leave.I should go no one knows me.This conclusion was reached after an intense discussion by all the voices in my head.Just kidding.I had received a scholarship from a university in Bostonia .I was a smart kid after all. This news was warmly welcomed by me and surprisingly everyone else.Mr Jackson and the other kids in the orphanage could finally let out a huge sigh of relief.Nobody had a fun time since I got here or in my presence.
Jane the monster was finally leaving.Call me delusional but I could smell and hear the celebration in the air. These guys didn't like me one bit and they were really doing a shoddy job at hiding their happiness. I didn't know Sharon could laugh that hard.
A few weeks later,I was done with my paperwork. It wasn't that hard. I finished packing up my stuff.I didn't even feel nostalgic at all. I didn't have anyone to say goodbye to. I was leaving the same way I came. I felt regretful somewhat. Was it going to be this hard for me to ever make friends?I mean,I was still a child. Why would God put someone on earth so that they can be alone? Saying no man is an island seems like a joke to me right now.But why wasn't I laughing? I somehow stopped crying since I was twelve.Crying was for the weak and wrong and I was neither weak nor wrong. My naturally cold appearance that was detached of emotion made it even impossible for me to make friends.
Goodbye Oakland....
I left in a taxi for the airport."I'll really not miss this place at all" I almost laughed at the thought.
IN BOSTONIA AIRPORT.....
"Hey Miles...you came!" A little girl exclaimed excitedly. Her name was Alice.Alice Smith. She was running towards an older boy. That older boy is her older brother.Miles Smith.
He was a typical rich kid.Their family had businesses all over the world with Bostonia being their headquarters. Therefore he was a typical rich,bla,bla,bla,bla.....
"Of course I came little sister,I wouldn't miss your birthday for the world.Even better,I'll be staying here at home for the next couple of years."Miles said.
" Really? You're not lying to me again are you?"
" When did I ever lie?"
" You always lie to me that you're coming home but you never stay .Two days after my birthday you're gone."
" This time I'm not leaving ok?"
After coaxing the little girl for a while their guard had finished picking up their suitcases. They turned to leave.
Flowers. That was the first thing he thought of when the young lady passed by him.She had bumped into him.She looked from inside her marvin and a pair of cold jet black eyes looked at him.
"Sorry, didn't see you." She said.
Miles scrutinized the girl.Dyed hair, baggy clothes and a marvin. She also had a backpack on her back with an outdated suitcase.
"It's ok.No worries." Miles said.
She threw a half smile at him to which Miles felt like he was being looked down upon.No one has ever talked down on him before. He was still lost in his thoughts when Alice called out her name.He looked around and she was gone. The airport was flooded so of course she was gone. He held onto his chest. He couldn't explain it but his heart had clearly skipped a bit when she talked to him.
What was happening to him?
"Bro? What are you looking at?Let's go."
"It's nothing let's go."
He made a mental note to ask someone to look for her the next day.
Was it love at first sight?
But Miles wouldn't calling it love be a joke if you never meet again?
