The Academy's headmaster, Professor Jalen, announced that it was time for the Trial of Powers. All students, regardless of their system, would be tested to measure the full extent of their abilities.
"This will determine your future path at the Academy," Professor Jalen said, his voice carrying a weight of authority. "You will be assigned teams and tasked with completing a series of challenges. You will test your limits."
The students were divided into groups, with Arin and Kai separated.
Kai stood with a few other outcasts, while Arin was placed with those who held heroic systems.
"You may be the light," Soren whispered, "but even light must learn to fight in the dark."
