The day felt calmer in the hospital room. The sunlight shining through the small room where Teddy was being treated created a brighter atmosphere. Teddy, who had been awake for a week, felt his body getting better. His wounds were almost fully healed, and although he was a bit tired, he felt strong enough to do more.
Vanessa stood by Teddy's bedside, carefully adjusting his clothes. "Do you feel better today, my love?" she asked with a gentle smile, her eyes still full of concern.
Teddy nodded slightly, a faint smile on his face. "Yeah, much better, Van. It's like there's energy returning to me."
Vanessa sighed in relief and sat beside him. "Thank goodness... I can't wait to see you back to your old self."
Teddy leaned back against the pillow, his eyes gazing out the window. "It's just that, I still feel like there's so much I don't understand. Like those sirens... they've been going off a lot lately. What's really happening?"
Vanessa looked at him calmly, offering a gentle smile. "Oh, those are just warnings, my love. This place is safe. There are nine Arkanists protecting us."
Teddy tilted his head, curious. "Arkanists? Can they really keep this place safe?"
Vanessa nodded confidently. "They're highly trained, my love. Each Arkanist has a unique power—like controlling fire, wind, and various other abilities. They've been undergoing intense training over the past few months, and now they're ready to protect us."
Teddy nodded slowly, impressed. "Intense training in such a short time, huh? That's pretty impressive."
Vanessa smiled proudly. "Yes, they've all worked hard. They know exactly what they're facing. And even though the situation is getting tougher, they're always on guard."
Teddy smiled faintly, feeling a bit more at ease. "So, I don't need to worry too much, right?"
Vanessa gently squeezed Teddy's hand. "No. This place is well-guarded, and we're all in good hands."
Teddy sighed quietly, feeling a little relieved. "That's good. I was just curious because those sirens keep going off."
"Yes, they're just a warning in case there's a threat. But you don't need to worry," Vanessa replied, comforting him. "They're out there making sure we're safe."
Teddy looked out the window again, pausing in silence for a moment. "You're right. I should focus on more important things. Like Kevin... he must have missed me so much."
Vanessa smiled affectionately. "He's probably so happy to hear that you're going to be out of here. He comes every day to play with his dad."
Teddy nodded, a sense of longing for his son beginning to grow. "I can't wait to see him. I want to play with him again."
Vanessa stood up, grabbed Teddy's jacket, and helped him put it on. "You're strong enough to leave here. There's no reason to wait anymore."
Soon, the door to the room opened, and a nurse entered with some medical supplies. "Teddy, how are you feeling? Ready to go home?" the nurse asked with a friendly smile.
Teddy nodded and reached for Vanessa's hand. "Yeah, I think I'm good enough to leave."
The nurse smiled with relief, then gave a quick briefing on the next steps for his care. After ensuring everything was in order, she left the room, allowing them to rest for a moment.
Teddy stared out the window, taking a deep breath. "Alright... let's go home."
Vanessa nodded, offering a soft smile, then helped Teddy stand. Together, they walked out of the hospital room with confident steps, ready to face the world waiting for them.
