Chapter 19 - 19

After a little while, Haven brought out the food, and Bailee carried out the washed bowls and chopsticks.

For dinner, they had noodle dumpling soup. The pork was sliced very thin and stir-fried with Chinese cabbage.

There were more vegetables than meat, and they cooked a big bowl of it.

Lorrie hesitated for a moment, then stomped his foot, walked to Julie's door, and knocked, saying, "Time to eat." He still found it hard to call her "wife master."

"I know," Julie opened her eyes, put down her crossed legs, and walked out.

When she reached the table, she saw that they were using the newly bought bowls, and the food was made with fine grains and vegetables.

She secretly nodded in approval. This finally felt right.

Humans aren't rabbits — they can't just eat grass all the time.

Julie sat down, and the three brothers also sat down one after another.

She noticed that the food in their bowls was the same as hers, and thought to herself that the method she used last time worked. Talking nicely didn't work, but this did.

She decided to continue like this in the future.

Her bowl was a little thicker than theirs, but it wasn't a big deal.

In ancient times, women ate more and worked harder.

Men, staying at home all day, ate less because they didn't move around much.

Besides, there were snacks. If they got hungry, they could have those.

Julie picked up her bowl and started eating. Only after seeing her eat did the brothers start eating.

She didn't force them to change this habit.

Every era has its own rules and customs. There was no need to change them forcefully — it was enough to accept them.

Besides, it didn't hurt her in any way.

Fine grains really tasted better and didn't scratch the throat.

She also picked up some cabbage and pork slices with her chopsticks.

After the first bite, she could tell that Haven cooked the food today.

In her mind, she made a rough assessment: among the three brothers, the eldest cooked the best, the second brother was good at sewing, and the youngest… had a sharp tongue.

After finishing her food, she didn't ask for more.

If the food was delicious, she would eat more. If it wasn't, she would just eat enough to be full.

After eating, she got up to leave and planned to continue her cultivation.

As she turned to go, she caught a glimpse of Lorrie already wearing the silver hairpin she had bought him today. She raised an eyebrow.

She had thought he didn't like it, but it turns out he was just being shy.

Julie wasn't in the mood to tease him today; she was focusing on breaking through her third cultivation stage.

She turned and walked away.

Haven and Bailee also noticed that the wife master had stared at their little brother for a few seconds before leaving.

They didn't know what she was thinking.

Since waking up, the wife master hadn't asked them to share her bed.

The way things were now was already very good. They didn't dare hope for more.

They would take it slowly.

With time, the wife master would eventually have needs.

Before, she used to call them to her side several times in just one night.

Thinking of this, both of them blushed, looking very attractive.

Unfortunately, the one who would appreciate them was already inside the room.

Lorrie, on the other hand, was thinking very differently.

He was feeling very proud at that moment.

He had caught the woman sneaking a few glances at him just now.

Hmph, now she's finally realizing how attractive he is and can't look away, right?

Not too late.

If she coaxed him a little and said some nice words, maybe he would let her into his bed.

His second brother had warned him it would be painful, but how painful could it really be?

He figured he could endure it.

Julie had no idea about the strange scenes in his head — and even if she did, she wouldn't care.

Only after being disappointed a few times will people stop dreaming so much.

The next morning.

The three brothers got up at dawn and worked together to fluff cotton.

They used a bamboo bow to beat the cotton into soft fibers, then laid down the inner fabric, the cotton, and the outer fabric, cut the coarse cloth to size, and started sewing.

When Julie got up, they had already finished making her quilt.

When Bailee saw the wife master awake, he quickly went to the kitchen to cook.

He knew she probably hadn't eaten enough the night before.

Thinking about how she liked the food he made, his heart felt sweet and full of energy, and even his eyes were shining.

Haven and Lorrie continued fluffing the cotton and making more quilts.

There was a lot of work to do, so they focused all their energy on finishing everything today.
