Chapter 1 - Chapter 001: I, Undying!

White Walker strolled down the street, a freshly printed newspaper in hand. He inhaled the scent of the ink, an eager smile spreading across his face as he impatiently looked forward to the latest scandalous news from the upper class. Just as he was about to turn a page, a series of rapid thumping sounds echoed behind him.

Instinctively, he turned his head, but before he could react, a heavy slap landed hard across his face.

The force of the blow instantly made half his face swell, a burning sensation exploding across his skin as stars danced before his eyes. Fury surged through him, and he glared at the one who struck him — a black-haired, black-eyed boy about his age, maybe thirteen or fourteen.

"My name is Rayan Kafka. Remember it! Rayan Kafka!"

White stared at the boy's twisted expression, and for some reason, a wave of fear washed over him. He stammered, "I... I understand. Rayan Kafka..."

"Damn it! You little bastard, stop right there!"

A rough shout came from behind. The boy named Rayan shook off White and continued sprinting ahead. Moments later, soldiers wielding rifles caught up.

"Damn Eldian devil!"

One soldier stopped, raised his gun, aimed for a few seconds, and then pulled the trigger without hesitation.

Falling to the ground was the boy named Rayan, not far away. His body lay still, eyes wide open, a bloody hole gaping in his forehead.

The soldier who fired walked over, glanced down, and casually kicked the corpse a few times. "Damn it, try running again," he muttered, pulling a walkie-talkie from his waist. "Hey, come collect a body outside Sector 2. Yeah, a kid tried to run, and I shot him."

He put away the communicator, glanced at the corpse with disdain, and then approached White, who was still trembling on the ground.

"Name?"

"I... I am White Walker."

"Show me your ID."

"O-okay."

White's hands trembled as he pulled out his identification card and handed it over. The soldier snorted after examining it and returned the card.

"Marleyans should not wander around the internment zone without a reason. Do you not know Eldian devils are locked up here?"

"Yes, yes, I understand..."

At that moment, a jeep rolled over from the distance, carrying two more soldiers. One of them held a large dog on a leash.

"They are here."

"Where is the kid?"

The soldier who had fired the shot pointed toward Rayan's corpse. The soldier with the dog immediately grinned. "Perfect. My Dutton has not had a proper meal in a while. Bet he is starving. Right, Dutton?" He ruffled the dog's head, and Dutton whined in anticipation, his eyes flashing ferociously.

"Go!"

The soldier released the leash. In seconds, Dutton darted toward Rayan's body and began tearing into it with bloody jaws.

White, who had yet to leave, turned pale in horror at the sight. One of the soldiers noticed him and barked harshly, "Get lost! And do not say a word!"

"Y-yes! I understand!"

White turned and fled. Strangely, even though Rayan had slapped him, seeing Rayan's gruesome end filled him not with satisfaction but with a deeper, gnawing fear. He muttered under his breath, "Rayan Kafka, Rayan Kafka..."

The three soldiers stood together, laughing as they watched White stumble away.

"That kid probably won't say anything, right?"

"Does not matter even if he does. There is no proof."

"Exactly. And those so called 'human rights' organizations really have nothing better to do than point fingers at us all day," one soldier sneered, contorting his voice mockingly. "'You cannot deliberately harm Eldians. They are human too. They have legitimate rights.'"

They burst into laughter.

"Absolute bull. These Eldian devils should all be wiped out. No point in keeping them alive."

"Well, we cannot say that out loud. After all, we still need the devils' power."

"True. But the next batch is being sent to Paradise soon, right?"

"Yeah. The day after tomorrow."

"Haha, and we are the soldiers responsible for escorting them. We will finally see humans turn into devils with our own eyes."

"Yeah. Let us head back."

They piled into the jeep with Dutton, whose belly was now full, and drove away. Only Rayan's bones remained on the barren ground. However, after an unknown amount of time, the skeleton vanished without a trace, not even a drop of blood left behind.

---

Rayan opened his eyes.

"I am going to slaughter them."

These were the first words he spoke.

"Who are you going to slaughter?" A groggy middle-aged man beside him jolted awake, alarm flashing across his worn face. "Do not say such things! If the soldiers hear you, you will be killed!"

"...Hmm."

Rayan nodded slightly. He looked around. It was a dimly lit room, no larger than thirty square meters, overrun with weeds. More than twenty people crammed inside, heads down, dozing in exhaustion.

They were all ragged and emaciated.

They were all Eldians.

This was the world of Attack on Titan.

This was the Eldian internment camp under the Marleyan regime.

"Damn it..."

Rayan could not help but curse again. Other people who transmigrated into this world always ended up on the island. But him? That so called "goddess" had thrown him straight into Marley, into an internment camp, as an Eldian no less. Truly remarkable luck.

If he had transmigrated to the island, even with the threat of titans, survival would have been much easier.

For instance, knowing Wall Maria would be breached in advance, he could have moved to Wall Sina beforehand. Begging for food would have been far better than getting eaten alive.

Or, if he wanted to live comfortably, he could have joined the Training Corps, performed well, and directly chosen the Military Police Brigade for a life of ease.

But here, in Marley, survival itself was a miracle.

Danger was constant. Soldiers could kill you for no reason.

Just like before. Rayan had tried to escape and was casually shot in the head. No one even bothered to capture him first.

Still... in some twisted way, this proved that the goddess had not lied.

The reason he ended up here was because a mysterious woman appeared before him. Without explanation, she rendered him unconscious. When he awoke, he found himself in this new body.

Only his soul had transmigrated, attaching itself to a boy named Rayan Kafka.

Coincidentally, his name back on Blue Star was also Rayan. He had been a twenty-year-old unemployed youth, an orphan, and a complete otaku whose passions were reading novels and watching anime.

Naturally, when he first learned he would transmigrate, he had been overjoyed, dreaming of landing in a sweet romantic comedy world.

The reality could not have been harsher.

"Sigh."

He sighed heavily, closing his eyes as he recalled the goddess's parting words.

"I am bored. Watching others struggle across infinite worlds is entertaining, is it not? I will grant you the power to survive. In return, all I require is amusement. Do not disappoint me."

She was indeed a goddess — dragging someone into another world just because she was bored.

He had been furious at first, but anger was pointless. After calming down, he realized the most important part: the power to survive.

It was the power of Eternal life through memory.

As long as someone in the world remembered him, he would not die. Even if killed, he would resurrect after thirty minutes, appearing randomly within a kilometer of the place where he died.
