The World Background (Optional Reading)

Note: This chapter is purely for worldbuilding. You can skip it and dive straight into the story — it won't affect your experience. But if you're the type who loves immersion, deep lore, and understanding the chaos behind the scenes, this is for you. (Visuals attached for better imagination.)

Twenty years ago, humanity discovered the Multiverse.

The discovery shook the foundations of science, faith, and reality itself. There were infinite worlds beyond ours — some familiar, some alien, some ruled by monsters, magic, future civilizations, even ancient cosmic entities.

Curious and desperate to leap ahead, the United States led an international effort to open a stable gate to another world.

And then they failed — catastrophically.

The gate became a magnet, dragging countless realms into collision with Earth. Worlds smashed into each other like a chaotic avalanche:

• Monsters raged across cities.

• Magic distorted the laws of physics.

• Future technology crashed down like debris.

• Unknown species invaded, some hostile, some friendly.

In the first year, humanity nearly went extinct. Governments fell. Billions died.

But humanity adapted — fast.

Nations formed Guilds — elite organizations responsible for fighting back the chaos. New laws were passed. New weapons were forged. Mutated humans discovered Abilities. The world didn't return to normal. It evolved.

Key Concepts:

• Zone Formation: When a dimensional collision stabilizes, it creates a Zone — a pocket of alien reality anchored to Earth. Zones stay until all anomalies inside them are wiped out. Some Zones are impossible to clear, becoming permanent.

• Zone Rankings: Zones are ranked by danger level: D, C, B, A, S, SS, and SSS-Class. The higher the rank, the deadlier the creatures, the rarer the treasures.

* S-class zones and above are permanent. Currently, only four exist around the globe.

• Abilities and Artifacts: Dimensional energy mutates human DNA, granting Abilities. Artifacts — items from collapsed worlds — can be bought, sold, or stolen. The longer you survive inside a Zone, the more your abilities mutate — for better or worse.

• Ability Drift: Spending too much time inside a Zone can cause your powers to shift uncontrollably — even corrupt you.

• Guild Wars: Not all Guilds are allies. They compete, betray, and even wage war over Zones, Artifacts, and political power.

• Dimensional Plagues: Some dimensions carry diseases that mutate entire cities if not contained fast enough.

• Gate Status: The original Gate is still active, somewhere hidden on Earth. Dimensions continue to collide. Millions still die every year. And humanity is still searching for a way to shut the Gate down before Earth becomes just another dead world.

The Current World:

Despite the constant threat, humanity thrives on the edge of annihilation. Massive Zone-cities have formed around permanent Zones. A new economy, new politics, and a new way of life have emerged.
