Chapter 2 - Crack

The crying sound of the willow catkins startled her best friend Xiaoran, who lived in the next unit.

Xiao Ran is her cousin and also the person she trusts the most.

She rushed over and, seeing the debris all over the ground and the willow catkins crying so hard that they were convulsing all over, hurriedly went up and hugged her.

Xu Xu, what's wrong? Don't cry. Don't cry! Xiao Ran patted her back with concern.

Su Qing stood aside, her face ugly, and explained in a low voice, "I accidentally slipped."

Xiao Ran glared at him and turned her head to comfort Liu Xu gently, "It's okay. If it falls, we'll buy a better one." Don't be sad about this.

"Not..." It's not a matter of money... Liu Xu choked up, her voice hoarse, "This is what Dad left me..." There is his temperature above...

Xiao Ran sighed and tried to change the subject: "Alright, alright, I know you have deep feelings for your father." Didn't you even write to him... She was halfway through speaking when she suddenly stopped.

Liu Xu suddenly raised her head to look at Xiao Ran, her eyes filled with terror and pleading.

That secret, a desperate "suicide note" written to her father, she only showed it to Xiaoran when she was at her most devastated and pleaded with her not to tell anyone.

Xiao Ran realized she had let something slip and a trace of panic flashed across her face. She forced a smile and said, "Nothing, nothing. I just said you wrote some words about missing your father before."

But Su Qing's ears were very sharp. He caught that sensitive word. "Suicide note?" He repeated it, his tone carrying inquiry and a hint of faint mockery.

Liu Xu's heart sank to the bottom in an instant. She felt ashamed, angry and helpless as if her clothes had been stripped off.

In front of her two closest people, her most vulnerable and darkest secret was accidentally exposed.

"Xiao Ran!" How could you... Liu Xu's voice trembled, and her eyes as she looked at Xiao Ran were filled with disappointment and disbelief.

Xiao Ran avoided her gaze, lowered her head and whispered, "I didn't mean it. I just..." Worry about you.

Worried? Or just thoughtless? Liu Xu felt a deeper chill.

Even in what she thought was the safest haven, irreparable cracks emerged.

The feelings of anger, loss and betrayal were intertwined, almost making it impossible for her to breathe.
